Ok, I need some info- I have a laptop- not a very expensive one, but not the worst either. It's a Toshiba Satellite. It came with a chipset instead of a videocard, and because of this, there are games I would like to play that I cannot. crying I have heard that there are external video cards for laptops, but I have not been able to find any info about them, even whether or not they actually exist, or where I could get one. stressed Sooooo.... What can you tell me? mrgreen

Well I am sure they exist, Its just I cant find one. crying I looked everywhere I could think of. Try calling Toshiba and see if they have any in stock. I looked at their website and didn't see any, however, I am sure they do have some and because Toshiba is the company of the laptop, It would be wise to buy from them just to be confident it's the right compatibility.

Okay, here's a problem I'm having.
For the past few days I had been struck with Salite.Q and Parite.B viruses. I could have just reformated my PC and taken the easy way out, but some data in my PC are worth 100 MILLIONS DOLLARS to me, so I can't just dump em. I tried the procedure of safemode, Explorer.exe end process and run a full system scan with Kaspersky and Quick heal, and successfully managed to delete the viruses (I think) and was working fine for a day. But yesterday I was unable to boot my windows at all, neither normally nor safe mode. It shows booting, but the logo of Windows XP Professional shows up (without the words "starting up windows") and it hangs up there, ALWAYS! crying I don't wanna re install windows and lose my precious data! I can boot into MS DOS tough. eek But I have forgotten how to use it. Well? Help please? confused
Edit: Never mind, lol I've fixed it.

Ok, I have a little problem but it's not urgent, so yeah. Since IE has updated the internet system they've had those tabs at the top of the page which are really convient, but I've had a problem with them. Namely, if I have two or more tabs on and try to close out of one without closing out of the others, the entire window closes and I lose all the tabs I was currently in. I don't know if this is a problem with my computer or Microsoft so.....yeah. ^^ Thanks!

Has anyone else ever Killed there mother board? Just about a month and a half ago, I was having problems with my computer and decided, in a lapse of inteligence, to open it up and look inside. The moment I reached inside, static that had built-up discharged, killing my motherboard.
Here are some ways to prevent this horrible scenario: - do not open your computer on carpet. Put it on a table or desk before opening. - wear latex/rubber gloves when reaching in. This sevearly lowers the chance of static release. - Invest in a couple of cans of compressed air. using a towel to clean dust out of the computer is the worst idea possable. that only increases static.
These basic rules and you shold be able to look inside of your PC and see the sometimes incomprehendable amount of wires, chips, and devices inside there.

A way to stop that Is to instead of clicking the red X click your scroll button. Yes it does have a button as well. Move the mouse over the tab and click the scroll button.

Ok, I have a problem.... well not me, but two of my friends..... They can't get in to the games, towns, cinema. I know all of those are "games", so I figure if we can solve one it will solve all.
They have disabled all firewalls, cleared cache, cleared cookies, stopped virus protection, stopped pop up blockers, checked memory, and everything else they can think of.
They get internet via satellite, but other flashes load and run from other sites.... Any ideas? They are getting very frustrated... and bored only being able to shop and post. Thx!

Well if they did all that it wouldn't be a computer problem. Gaia does that a lot. I hate it too. Towns ALWAYS freezes up on me randomly. Try Q & A forums and if no one can help, I'm guessing its a site issue ever from the site re-do or the forum re-write. My suggestion is to wait it out. Sorry. redface
