"He said that some people don't like dragons and some people kill us for sport. Sometimes I come out of the volcano with him but we never go into town together." Bloodshed explains, "Once I'm older, I will be able to follow him into town..."

"I heard that too... thats why I only play with human children." says Ruko with a sigh. "but..." he sizes up Damon, "I don't think anybody would pick on you if you were with him. its the law of the forest: big things are to be avoided." he grins. "not that it matters to me: lots of little forest animals know I won't hurt them, so they come up to me... I'm a plant eater most of the time, see. I only eat carrion." he says, deciding to tell his new friend everything about himself as possible. ((TOTALLY just made that up on the spot))

((Pretty good for making up on teh spot))
"Technically that does always work. I mean look at the size of some of the elder dragons and older dragon-bounds. They grow to be huge, so big in fact their human halfs can ride them." Bloodshed says, "And look humans go out hunting us all the time and they are usually not much bigger then Damon."

((I'm good at it. I've had lots of practice with other rolelays. ))
"Humans... well... I guess they are different..." says Ruko, pondering. "I wonder why some humans respect us and some don't? Its a mystery to me..."

"As I said, exploring. I felt that I had to get out of the forest for a little while." Ruko said, looking around him, "This place seemed interesting, and I felt that I should go here." he shrugs a dragon's shrug "No other reason."

"Good enough reason for me..." Bloodshed says with what would be the dragon equivalent of a shrug. "As most of us are probably out here for similar reasons..."

"One of many... So do you have a dragon-bound? Or are you looking for one?" Bloodshed questions as Damon is zoned out leaning up against the volcanos wall.

"I'll look for one when I need one" said Ruko with a shrug. "the forest elves have been watching me for some time... I could always ask them." he shook his head. "but thats in the future!" he looks at Damon sideways "He IS okay, right?"

"As far as I know, yes." Bloodshed says, looking at Damon.
(Are we wanting to go somewhere with this story? I mean just talking in getting boring. Want to get attacked by fire monsters or something?)

((sure))
Ruko sniffed. Aside from Damon's fermented odor, there was a funny sort of sooty smell in the air that hadn't been there before.

Bloodshed sniffs the air just as Ruko was doing. "You smell that?"
About 10-15 ft. down a piece of the volcano's wall caved in. Soon after, the newly made cavern was filled with the bodies of 10-20 flaming creatures. The creatures had huge forearms and walked like gorillas. Their bodies were made of hardening magma and some of it had already hardened and become solid leaving black islands of rock on the surface of their would be skin.

Ruko yelped in surprise. "What the?!" he crouched at the edge, trying to look over while not exposing himself to the monsters below.

"Shhh." Bloodshed says, "We've encountered this things before. They can't see but they can pick up movement in the ground."
Soon the lower area of the volcano was filled with more then 15 of the flaming monsters. "Gotta get Damon to snap out of this." Bloodshed says, moving slowly over to Damon's side so not to alert the monsters of their location. Once by Damon's side Bloodshed stands on his hide legs so his mouth was level with Damon's ungloved hand. Taking a deep breath, Bloodshed blew a light flame near Damon's hand. "Yow!" Damon says, pulling his hand away quickly.
At that all the monsters turned to face their location. "What the hell wa... Oh..." Damon says, taking in the full view of all the magma monsters. "Can't say I thank you for toasting my hand. But now I know why you did it." Damon says, patting Bloodshed on the snout with his burned hand well his other pulled his longsword free of its sheath.
