His statement confused her and she tried to shrug it off. Fortune took things literally sometimes. However, his next statement was crystal clear and she gave quite the indignant look.
"I'm perfectly capable of staying out of trouble if I wanted to!" Fortune said before dissolving into giggles. She wasn't able to hold that seriousness for very long despite being a mother now.

He tossed his head back, ebony ringlets dancing against his neck as he laughed. "If you wanted to... But since I doubt you want to that means that someone has to keep an eye on you, right?"

She smirked at him, "What fun is it staying out of trouble? Besides, if it's your and Safi's duty to keep an eye on me, you'd be pretty bored if I didn't." The mare tossed a wink his way.

"Our duty?" His brow lofted a bit higher. "There is much fun to be had in staying out of trouble, Fortune. Afterall, there is some trouble that you might not enjoy finding yourself in, you know. You should be careful... And set a good example for that little one of yours."

"Oh, poo on that, dear. Life's about living and if one cannot do what they please - so long as it hurts no one else - I don't see the point in living at all." She frowned a little bit as she looked around.
"I mean, while one can stay in the constraints of society and live a perfectly productive life, there's so much out there that involves risks and getting into trouble that is so fun to experience! So instead of simply living life...why not LIVE life!"
If that made sense to anyone other than her. The green haired mare looked up at Draven again, "Do you understand what I mean?"

"I don't believe I said anything about binding yourselves by the rules of society... Just that you should be careful." He nodded slowly, unable to keep himself from saying such things. The herd that he had once belonged to didn't by any means follow strict rules. They had all taken chances at one time or another; especially the young males, himself included. "There is a difference between getting into trouble and making mischief."

Fortune nodded, "Careful, all right, I'll be careful - but only because you'll worry otherwise." She teased him with a laugh, shaking her head a little bit. It was so good seeing him again.
"So, what do you count as simply making mischief?"

"Mischief is the sort of thing that foals get into... Right along with those who never grew up the whole way." He tried to speak with a straight face, unable to keep his lips from twitching slightly. "Running around tugging tails, sneaking sweets, splashing each other in streams and rolling around in beds of flowers. I'm sure you're very familiar with mischief, Fortune."

She raised an eyebrow, "Oh, yes, very familiar. I suppose you are too, though - after all, you were rolling around in a bed of flowers." She stood up slowly, twitching her tail, "Why, I think you got in touch with your inner foal my dear Draven."

"Hmm... In my case, I would call it less getting in touch with my inner foal and more getting in touch with my past." He nodded slowly once more, tilting his head towards what bit of the sky he could see through the canopy formed by the branches and leaves above him. "I had forgotten alot of things... I was starting to remember some of them"

"I see," Fortune answered. It probably had to do with his mate that was too far away to reach - and she decided that for once she really wouldn't pry. There were things SHE never liked to talk about either so it was understandable.
"Well, I'm glad that you're starting to remember. Forgetting things is never fun, I think. " Fortune smiled, "Anything I can help you remember?"

"You've already helped me, Fortune." He turned his head, casting a bright smile in her direction. "You've reminded me what it's like to enjoy myself just as the other friend that I've made reminded me that there were things I have been forgetting."

That caused her smile to widen, "Well, I'm glad to have helped. You certainly seem more cheerful this time, anyway." She paused and looked up at the sky - how long had she been away? Safi would definitely not be pleased by how long she'd been away.
"I think that I should get back to my son, now, so his father can have time to himself before nightfall. It was really nice to see you again, Draven - you should come find me again sometime. I'm usually in this area..."
The mare didn't want to go but being a mother was slowly teaching her responsibility - though it was doubtful she'd ever fully grasp the concept.

"Hopefully I'll see you again sooner than later, Fortune. Until then, stay out of trouble..." He nickered softly, trying not to laugh as he lowered himself to the flowers once more. He still had some thinking to do before he wandered off to find somewhere to nest for the night.
