Knnyphph StickChick09 I think it's stupid how they stick all the girls in pit and put the guys on drums or timpani or accesories even if they can't play to save their life, because if guys play pit they lose their 'manliness' It really upsets me... At my school, we call timpani confidence-builders. And we call our snare Nick Brown. Don't ask. There are lots of guy clarinets at my school, and they are good, but Nick Brown, he ruins it for everyone, therefore, clarinets are my least favorite instrument! There's a trumpet player in our band named Nick Brown.... ninja Tell him every middle schooler in Crowley, Texas hates his guts! biggrin

Ours is kinda like that, half the pit is guys, but none of them (besides the Timpanist) really 'fit in' with the Line. The Pit Chicks get along fine with the Line (guys and girls) - weird, huh? The only girls on Line aren't actually percussionists - two are clarinets and the other is a sax. >_> We Pit Chicks are the only true female Percussionists.

(Like I said before, our entire percussion section is very much female dominated.) On the line we have 11 people Only 4 people started out on percussion Six are girls Only one girl started out on percussion ^^ Not being part of the pit, I'm not sure the amount of people who didn't start on percussion, but I know it's very very slim.

I play tenors for my high schools' marching band and Indoor Drumline, though I play snare for concert band. Last year I was 3rd chair in the district and this year I was second. Sucks, I always get beaten by a guy...I'm trying out for All State this weekend...*bites nails* sweatdrop whee

Our Winterline bass line, two of three tenors, and three fourths of the pit are girls. And they all kick butt!

Our pit is dominated by girls (only about four guys and fourteen girls-ish. I can't remember for sure xp ) In our battery, we have three girls. A tenor player, a snare, and cymbal. I'm trying to stick with the marching season line; right now we're split into two different groups for indoor percussion, so things get confusing.
