Ki DelArmigo Hallelujiah Also something else, it isn't exactly related to Aeris but I found it ironic. After the summoner defeats Sin there's a brief period of peace called "calm" and after AVALANCHE defeats Sephiroth Cloud and Tifa move to a town called "kalm" =P Cloud don't deserve Tifa sad He's angsty and tries his hand at all the chicks of the group...he can h ave Vincent, though. They can brood themselves a black hole razz xD That's hilarious. "Brood themselves a black hole"...yeah, X-Play described FF VII as "the game that was emo before emo was emo". xD I have to agree, as much as I love the entire series and every title in it.

I think Aeris could be related to Yuna. After all, they both act the same. Both of them were willing to give up their lives for the planet (but the others found a way to defeat Sin so Yuna wouldn't have to) There's also the fact that Shinra talked about harvesting the Farplane's power to power large cities. Also, when people die in FFX, their spirit goes to the Farplane. (Like the Lifestream)

Makes sense, I guess... But to me? It just sounds a little too much like Square just trying to capitalize on two of their best-selling games.
But that's just me.

Twindream Well, the connection between FFVII and X is actually a theory Nomura "confirmed"...or was it Kitase that confirmed it? Either way, they think that there is a connection. I forgot where I found this info though....it was an interview I think. Ah yes you are talking about the FFX Ultimania guide. Here are some excerpts from it.
Quote: Kitase: So, you could say [in terms of] time, Nojima-san decided to designate it to act as a sequel to VII, if you follow me. --"It's a sequel to VII!!" Kitase: Well, there was a joke right there. Simply put, in VII's ending, Holy came, and the next thing you knew, it was over without closing things up, and then it was the "500 years later" [scene] in the future... --"So, will it become a sequel to VII's story?" Nojima: I have a strong feeling that they're going to be connected.--"Huh, so VII and X ARE connected?" Nojima: ...I know that what becomes of people when they die is among them; you could say that it's basically the same. Both [concepts came to] function along the same line of thought as I wrote the stories. Sometimes my thoughts just flow out like that, even though pyreflies distinctly aren't green. --"When you speak of the dead becoming [something] green, do you perhaps [mean]......?" Nojima: Yes. In my mind, pyreflies and VII's Lifestream are the same substance.

lol that DOES make sense O_O
Specially since ***SPOILER AHEAD!!!*** Tidus and Yuna are reunited in X-2... so they could have gotton married and had kids that led up to Aeris O_O! I noticed that too about the kid's name being Shinra... that was kinda... weird =p
OMG COOL!!!!!!!!!!! xd

If I remember correctly, I believe I read an article on the theory of the Final Fantasy Timeline. I believe it said that it started at ten, moved to X-2, then to VII, then to IX, and so on. If I can find it, I'll repost it here. The reasons they gave were really accurate, and I think they are really good ideas on how it all connects.

Go here and search for: ****Translations concerning the plot-related connection between FFVII and FFX/X-2**** (007)
This elaborates and adds to what Pink posted.
Though Yuna and Aeris might be related, one must remember that Yuna's job as a summoner takes a special type of person, but a person nonetheless. Whereas Aeris is a different race from everyone else in FFVII. The actual family tree connection, is with the child named Shinra, that his decendants create the Shinra company (which makes a lot of sense with real history and the way names became last names, ect.). Yuna being related to Aeris is cute, don't get me wrong, I just don't think it's the right connection. Also, if you read what I wrote it trys to make the argument that Shin-ras decendants go to the world of FFVII, rather than Spira becoming the world of FFVII one day. So the Ancients could have already been there. It's all really neat stuff. XD
