I'll let it be known. Thanks! smile
They dumped a bunch more 1/400 on us & it's about 8 or 9 lots & nearly all very small or skinners--except a big pile of huge packages without labels! And it's all mixed up. I was sorting the stuff all shift last night in between fixing stops every few minutes & winding skinners onto cones to combine them into bigger packages that won't run out in 5 seconds. sweatdrop

Nobody has said what the Sample Warper's last day will be & we're still running that durn 1/400 til we use it all up. :XP:
I forgot to say something to Bill Bryant about the Fixer job so I scribbled a note & shoved it under his door before I left. Maybe he'll see it Monday morning.
Some of the CG members are young enough their parents wouldn't be happy about them meeting people from online. Don't know if a get-together would work. Suggest it out in General Chat or something--I don't think many others come in here--our textile talk is boring to non-textile workers. smile

Maybe if the younger members can't come, we could try a lunch thing with the older members (and their kids). biggrin

Where at, though? A lot of us are up here in the Piedmont, but you're in SC & so are most of our newest members.
Textiles themselves may be of concern to everybody, but I doubt our technical jargon makes too much sense to most folks. smile
Anybody else know what the following are?
*Ends *Warp *Hack *Creel *Double-Creeling *Chicken-Head *Selvage *Skinner *Denier ---And if you looked 'em up, say so! mrgreen (Add some Weave Room jargon if you like, Tommy! I know there are some good, confusing-looking titles & terms down there I don't know what mean myself, only ever having worked in Warping....)

Yep, we use Double-Creel knots, Weavers Knots, Tension Knots & Chicken-Heads. Chicken-Heads are strictly for tying in creels. When the knots are pulled over they have to stop using them. How about these terms-- *Slasher *Smash Hand
(Y'all didn't know Textiles was so violent, did you? rofl )

I smashed MY hand Sunday night...kinda. I stuck the point of a kitchen knife into the base of my index finger on my left hand. sad Lousy place to try to put a bandage! I had gauze wrapped all over my hand trying to keep it it place & keep the wound clean, & I'll have to do that again today. Really annoying trying to tie weaver knots like that. sweatdrop
New rumor for the week--that the mill will be kept going for another couple of months with a skeleton crew. A fella from downstairs who brings up selvage spools says there are only about a dozen looms running on second now.
Bill Bryant seems to be off this week so I don't know if anyone has been in his office & seen that note I stuck under his door Friday night. Still short a fixer?

Hey, Tommy! Maybe you will know this one. Eirwyn wasn't sure but maybe you can explain the origin or definition of this one... India Hook. One of the major roads here is named that. Folks that I've talked to say it's a textile term but no one has been able to tell me what it means.

Bill was back on Friday--he says he got my note & spread the word around. Maybe someone will be interested.
Last I heard, April 29th was supposed to be the last day...so I guess this week will be the last. Warpers are STILL working, though, including mine. And no one is saying anything. I heard they want to do Inventory, though.
