D: What Phantom are YOU looking at? xp Gah. xd Sometimes, I hate to say it, but it's the deformed, unusual guys with weird problems like the Phantom that are the hottest. heart domokun heart Now, if his vioce doesn't get you from the get-go, his ... no, his voice will get you from the get-go, there is no other way. But after that, you see his passion, his voice, his genius, his voice, and it doesn't stop there. He's very devoted(beyond devoted, head over heals, and it get's to the point of over-protectiveness), he's more than smart, he's a genius, he has talent, spirit, passion, that other men just don't have. I've never known anyone like that, someone with such raw emotion and the ability to show it probably doesn't exist anymore in this world... sadly. He's very romantic, with the roses... how many guys would leave you a rose whenever you did something, like for washing the dishes, or making diner, or going to work.... one moment.... heart heart heart heart heart heart heart heart heart heart heart heart ... *sigh* he's the perfect guy, showing that there's more than looks that goes into a serious relationship.... Men like that just don't exist anymore, to my knowledge at least, and if you can find one, you're damned lucky.... unless he starts acting all psychotic and murdering people.... *sigh* why must geniuses be so mad? It's unfair. There's a saying that's like 'We like people for the good things but love them for the quirks...' I think it goes for Erik very well... heart heart heart heart heart domokun ninja

heart His Voice If I met him in a dark room and heard him sing I'd fall in love with him faster then you could say hello. Even with out looking at his face or knowing his past his voice would win me over and I'll stumble in the dark to his arms. heart

Mingo-Chan I love the Phantom because he is so alone. He never really knew anything but the life which was against him because of his disfigurment. I think another reason I like him is because he is obsessed with the things he desires. Like many people I know including myself That and oh come on who couldnt love the guy.......much better then pompous rich boy Raoul...... Pompous? In all the plays, movies, and books Raoul has never been pompous nor selfish or anything bad. He's always been good, kind, sweet, and have nothing but good intentions. But I sure as hell love the Phantom waaaay more then Raoul. We ALL do. I'm just sayin'..I don't wanna start any debates or anything.

I think we love the Erik because in a way, we all want to be him.
Before everyone starts jumping down my throat, hear me out. I don't mean we all want to be half-crazed homicidal maniacs or horribly disfigured.
What I mean is that Erik is a character that people can understand, especially I think teenagers. We all wish we could hide away from the world at times. We all wish we could control our own domains. We all wish that we could get away with things that no other person could. We all hide behind our masks. We all wish we could find a love so strong to us that we are willing to die for it.
I think Erik represents all of those things. He's kinda like all human natured wrapped into one character. He's both a devil and angel. A lover and a killer. We love that contradiciton and conflict.

Am, that's soooo true, probably one of my reasons! Ok, I thought Geri was handsome, but I love all the versions of Erik. Truthfully, I have low self-esteem, so, that's a way we compare, I'm not saying I'm deformed.... I hope you catch my drift! sweatdrop

Why do we love Erik? Well, I love him because he's just the perfect example of 'No one is perfect'. He's perfect because he's succesful at everything he does, but he's disfigured. And we know that that disfigurement lead to his insane/mad/killer side. Now, I'm baseing this on the Kay novel, play and Leroux book. He was an innocent child, right? He hadn't murderd anyone... untill some freaky gypsy man was gonna rape him. But dammit people, wouldn't you? He is, deep down, good hearted. Remember in the kay novel he was given a 'slave'? He dismissed her, he wouldn't use her like that. Now, remember the lady who had him build the octognal thing so he would kill people, all for her enjoyment (damn I forgot her name. ><)? He was drugged; it drove him insane, correct? Yes, he did get addicted to drugs, but it gave him a calm sense of happiness. Now don't get me wrong, he ahs flaws in his personality. Murder: bad. But think WHY did he murder? Possibly, that was all he knew. He gave up his religion when there was no animal heaven, so he gave up with god. So he didn't care what murder ment, correct? And for gods sake people, he cried when christine kissed him. Why? because he never had that before, and he let them go. He was awed someone touched him, without shrinking away.
And as GarrisonKael said, we all wish we could hide like he did, and get away with somethings.

I like The phantom (No, not that kind of like o.o >>) because he's just so cool!
What's so cool about him is, he's a genious. Yeah. He learned how to write music, teach, sing, write, speak. Without school! That's just amazing.
I may not like him like fangirls do, but I think he's just cool ^^

I realize it would be kind of surprising seeing that for the first time, but I bet if someone got to know him, at least one person, he wouldn't be living under an opera house, nor would he be so insane. And seeing Christine kiss him, and leave, probably broke his heart even more so. Knowing she would leave forever did the trick. 3nodding
