She shrugged and turned her head back around, going back to laying with her eyes closed, head rested on her forearms. "You'll have that. Everything always changes when you fall in love. Or so I have heard." she said. It was true she had at one time been in love but it had ended bitterly. He couldn't handle her being half blind.

[sorry about the delay]
He nodded his head slightly, wondering if that really was true. Flicking his tails on the ground, he pricked up one ear as he turned his gaze towards the forest that lay ahead of them. Was there someone there? A rustle of the brush indicated that there was someone there, but a moment later a rabbit bounded out of the brush and deeper into the forest. For a moment he had been scared if that was another kitsu. No one had seen him so sentimental before and he didn't want anyone to see him like this...well, other that Lupita. Sighing, he half-closed his eyes as he gently began grooming Lupita's back.

Lupita stiffened a bit as he began to groom her. She had never had someone else do it before and it weirded her out a bit but she let it go. What could it hurt, right? She thought for a moment on what else to talk about and then remembered he had said something about a half brother. "Do you have much family?" she asked, curious to see if he was alone or really did have family.

[sorry about the delay...again. ^^;]
Mika flicked an ear when he heard her question. He hoped that she didn't mention that, but instead of staying silent, he nodded his head slightly. "Yeah, a half-brother, a sister-in-law, their children, and one of my niece's children. It really is a slightly big family, though only one of my half-brother's children have had children so far. Not sure about the other two nieces and lone nephew." He shifted slightly on the ground as he opened one eye again. "What about you? You have anyone to call 'family'?"

Family.
It was a foriegn concept to Lupita. She knew that at one time she had family when she was young. But then they went away and she had to grow up on her own and deal with her handicap on her own as well. Sometimes she had even blamed her family for her blindness.
"No, I do not have a family. Atleast not anymore. I know I did at one time otherwise I would not be alive today. But that was a long time ago." she said almost bitterly. She had locked those painful memories away and now they were choosing now to resurface.

He opened his other eye and stared down at her. No family? That seemed odd, but then again he hardly remembered his and Ryuuzaki's parents. Though he knew that it was for the best. Their parents couldn't have been very good if they let them wander away from the safety of their home. "It is best sometimes if you forget them. They probably...nevermind," he muttered under his breath, not wanting to tell her what was on his mind.

Lupita opened her good eye and shifted her weight so she could look up at him. "They probably what?" she asked curious as to what he was thinking. His thinking it best to forget your family made her wonder if he had a bad run in with his own family.

He shook his head slightly. "It was nothing. Just was speaking on my mind. My niece...she hates it when I do that. Guess that's why she hates me so much." He closed his eyes slightly as he stared down at the ground. Was that also why Lupita hated him, too? That made him ponder about that and the other things he had been doing with his life up until now.

"I am sure there is more to that just speaking your mind if she hates you. I wouldn't think that would cause someone to hate someone else." she said and yawned, flicking her tail absent mindedly. She spoke her mind whent the situation called for it and she doubted that anyone hated her for it.

"With her, it is." He narrowed his eyes slightly as Kaida's image popped into his mind. He didn't want to be thinking about her right then. Not when he was trying to have a decent conversation with Lupita. "Oh, well. That is in the past. Hopefully she will forgive me once I've found...someone." He didn't want to tell her about the agreement he made with his niece. It was something between him and Kaida and no one else. Not even Azura knew about this little 'agreement' the two kitsu had. "What if we had kids together. I wonder what they would look like," he pondered aloud.

At his comment, Lupita's ears shot up and she was suddenly wide awake than ever before. She relaxed manner had done a complete 360. She wondered where is all of hell he had come up with that and how it even manifestered. "You're joking right?" was the only thing she could think of saying and then once it left her mouth she kind of regretted it. She really didn't want to hurt his feelings or up set him. It was just he had caught her so off gaurd.

Mika jumped to his paws as soon as he heard Lupita's harsh comment. He had expected nothing like that to come out of her maw and he took a few timid steps away from her, his tails dragging on the ground. "Just forget what I said," he said in a soft, hurt voice as he turned around and started walking away from her.

Lupita jumped up when he bagan to walk away and tripped over herself, more so because of her blind eye than being clumsy since he had choosen to walk away in a direction that was on her handicapped side. "Damn it..." she mumbled and got back up on her feet as quickly as she could. "Hey wait! Don't go...I'm sorry I didn't mean it like that. I mean...you just suprised me is all. I didn't know what else to say!" she rambled hoping that he wouldn't just walk away from her like that. She wanted him to stay but she didn't know why and it annoyed her but she didn't want him to walk away because of something she had said that she didn't mean for it to hurt.

Mika walked a couple more steps before he finally stopped. Why had he asked her that? Was it curiosity or was it more than that? Was he really falling in love with Lupita? He held back a shudder. 'Like she would love someone like me,' he thought to himself.

Lupita stopped when he stopped and stood there silently. She didn't know what to say to save herself, not that she knew why she needed to say anything at all. Was he seriously thinking about having kids with her? She hadn't really known him for all that long...maybe all this weirdness inside her was what they called love? Nah! It couldn't be! Her in love! That was a joke in itself!
