I don't even have a Sonic plushie, so I talk to my artwork of him, especially my new pic for a project I'm doing for my Geography class.... WTH Sonic, or anything really has to do with geography's beyond me, but it's more about the history of the subject. I'm temporarily substitutuing a Sonic plushie with a mickey one that's from the early 90s, when Sonic and Mickey had some similarities.

Seems like those somewhat-cheapish Sonic plushes (hey, you think we'd be getting the quality stuff in crane games here? XP) are popping up everywhere.
Several weeks back, there was a new machine set up in one of the local malls here. Oddly, for something bearing the Namco logo and Pac-man plastered on the front of the "bus", the yellow guy wasn't a plush.
Instead, there were wierd large rubber ball...things (no idea what to call those, really..), 101 Dalmation plushes....and several Sonic characters. If one must know the specifics, Sonic, Tails, Amy, Shadow, and Big were all visible.
Managed to win a Big plush rather easily, and he sits upon my tv now, when not knocked off by passing cats (jealous, maybe? : P).
Visiting the mall again recently, most of the Sonic plushes were understandably scooped up; with only a single Shadow and Tails buried beneath lesser plushes.

Heck, I think those were around during the time either Sonic 3, or Sonic & Knuckles came out. I remember the bizarre commericals for them (kid sucking Spaggetti-Os from the TV screen).
And that reminds me further of other Sonic-based junk foods back in the day....
Anyone else remember those spicy Lifesavers released years back for a short time? I assume the candies were supposed to be like rings, assuming the commercial was sendin' the right message. : P

I was searching eBay and randomly came upon this. Anyone know if it's an official item or not? It's got the look of Tails from Archie comics and SatAM.

He looks official to me. Have a browse through http://www.sonicgear.org/ if you have the time - they've got a pretty good listing of official plushes that were available once upon a time. He's actually a very cute version, isn't he? You're right, he's definitely got the look of SatAM about him - now that I've finally started watching the boxset smile I'd be tempted if I didn't already have a Sonic 2 version... DW

I looked, and he is official. He's certainly one of the cuter Tails plushies available.

I'm not 100% sure, but I think that's the same type of Tails plush my brother got from a Toys R Us years back. oo
Funny thing is, he practically dwarfs the old Sonic plush I have...Think Tails is at least three inches taller. XD

You are correct. He's approximately three inches taller than Sonic is, though it should be completely opposite.

General Lea I was searching eBay and randomly came upon this. Anyone know if it's an official item or not? It's got the look of Tails from Archie comics and SatAM. That's official. It's the Caltoys version with the AoStH look - it used to be on eBay quite regularly, but I haven't seen one in a while.
