After a bit of clanging and humming around the kitchen Kai emerged with two steaming bowls of a delicious smelling stew. "Hope your hungry!! I made plenty!" He smiles and hands her a bowl. "Careful it's hot.." It was nice to have company... even though he didn't mind being the outcast it could get lonely sometimes.

::by the time he came out with the finished stew, she was standing on her new legs, her tail having finally dried. taking the offered bowl, she smiles:: thank you, it smells wonderful

He smiled and shrugged "Thanks... it's not that hard to make. I'm not a great cook or anything but I think my stuff is pretty edible. I hope you like it"

He let out a breathe in relief "Thats good! I'm glad you like it!" After a few moments of silence and eating stew he spoke again " So why were you away from your home anyway?? What do you do there? I've never really met any... mer people before. They tend to stay away from these parts." He frowned.. he had heard that others thought the dragons would eat them... which was ridiculous!! At least for him... some of the others were known for eating... odd creatures but they were a bit eccentric!

i was visting my... aunt... my cousins were supposed to escort me home, but they wouldn't stop bickering so, for a bit of peace, i went on ahead and... well, got lost ::small shrug::

"Oh. Do you have a big family? What are they like?" He eagerly asked his questions having never had a family (that he could remember) himself!

::she smiles a bit sadly:: i have a lot of aunts and uncles and even more cousins... but they all live far away and don't really visit often. at home it's just me and my father...

Kai looked sad for a moment and gave her a small comforting pat "I'm sorry... but at least you have your dad! It must be nice having him around! *absently to himself* I'd like a dad-like person to be around..."

He smiled and shook his head "Why not? say what you feel i won't get offended or anything. I don't have family.. *shrugs* thats just how it is. If you get annoyed at yours you can say.. cause thats normal, isn't it? Please don't censor what you want to say around me.. I like honesty!"

"Whoever came up with the idea that honesty wasn't polite was off their rocker! I'd prefer brutal honesty over fake politness anyday! Thats nice... but he doesn't even know me so I doubt that he'd want me as a son. Besides he has you as a daughter and that should be equally as wonderful! I can't leave here anyway.. its my home and despite certain unplesantness I love it here!" he gave her a big carefree grin that seemed to light up his whole being. He was obviously very stisfied with his life.

He gave a soft smile "Well why wouldn't I be? If I spent all my time wishing I had a different life I'd never be happy! Plus it'd be exhusting to be that angry all the time! I can't change how my life has been so why worry about it? I have a place to live, food to eat, the sky to soar, and the waves to surf! All the essentials... the only thing I'd want right now.. is company. But I'm not greedy so I take what I can get."
