This is my son Eric and he was my main reason for starting this 3nodding

And your son is adorable. heart Can I ask what his exact condition is? Simply because the chair he's in and the headgear ( I guess that's what it is...if not, I'm sorry) look exactly like what my cousin had. She passed away when she was 7, and I was about 10, and since I rarely ever saw her, I never did learn what her condition was. All I know is she was blind, as well as deaf...with some other condition on top of that.
updated post above wink we have to wait to see the doctor but the nurses and such that did his tests said autism and cerebal palsy or muscular dystrophy +other misc disorders and health problems...and sorry to hear of your loss but the kiddo in your sig is ADORABLE!

I believe she might have had cerebal palsy...due to now having lots of friends with varying degrees of cerebal palsy, and comparing the way she was always sitting in photographs, to how they are now.

And that's my baby, Tyler. We don't know yet, until his next appointment, but he may possibly be developmentally delayed. He's doing very few of the things a three month old should be doing, besides holding his head up. I'm not too worried about it yet, as I'll just see what his doctor has to say. He is advanced verbally, just kind of far behind physically.
i'm sorry to hear about that.....i hope everything goes well......*hugz ya*

His appointment is on the 20th of this month. And I have a lady that comes every Friday, to do developmental achievment checklists, which is good for me, being a first time mom. I'm hoping we go in, and there's nothing wrong with. I'm so paranoid though.

My BIL has celebral palsy. He got it when he was about 5 months from really bad pneumonia. He had to take lots of speech, physical, and educational therapy (he can't get his GED because he's not good at essay form) but you can hardly tell except he has a limp. He has a good job and is a really awesome uncle.

Such beautiful children! Gindion, try not to stress and worry! I know these developmental guidelines used to scare me all the time. Logan was delayed physically, but I think it was because he was rather large and had trouble sitting up and crawling. Now I am a little worried about his speech, but I'm really learning to throw the fears out the window! I hope it goes well though!

Hi everyone, I thank you for sharing your pride and joy. I know how it feels to worry about outcomes and the great unknowns of scecial needs children. My sons are both adopted and are both drug exposed. My 3 yo is the most affected by the drugs, his BM (birthmother) used Meth, Cocaine and Marijania (sp?). He has been Dx'd with speech delays and sensory issues, he was watched for sometime for possible cerebral palsy due to his muscle tone issues but that cleared up. My youngest is 10 months and his BM was not an addict, just recreational user...so far my son is on track for everything but we will just have to wait and see come school time. It is so nice to have a forum to speak with other parents on these issues

I try not to worry. But I am just so damned paranoid.

And I know all about speech problems. I have a slight speech impediment. I can't pronounce certain sounds. Particuraly the "th" sound, if it's on the end of a word. If it's pointed out, it becomes much worse because I'm thinking about it. I also have a slight stutter.
