Sukku never responded, but chose to turn the other cheek. After coming home from the wedding, she had been put into such a slump that even booze couldn't help her now. Her pent up anger - not just at her dislike for demons and the like - built up within her chest, almost reaching the boiling point. It'd spill sometime soon...she just hoped she'd be gone when it happened.

Far, far away. That's what she planned...

Shaking her head, she began to look about the room, and almost immediately spotted a little boy who looked vaguely familiar. Fox ears...tail...cute. She had met him somewhere before...hadn't she? Even though she had been inebriated to the point of no return, she recognized him.

"Eeh...Prem?" she called the first name that came to her mind, weaving her ways towards him. This time she wasn't smashed.

--

"I bed they're scruffly. Dogs ain't too soft...least I don't think they are. I dare ya to pull of of those tails..." Ruka grinned impishly, wondering whether or not they'd be up to it. No doubt Emma and Nat would...at home they were the Three Muskateers!

Only...not good. They were horrid.

Prem looked up hearing his name. He gave a smile seeing Sukkubus and swished his tail as if acknowledging she was right. He bowed politely, "It's nice to see you again, Miss Sukku," he told her. He had heard someone call her that. He thought it had been Eight, Valencia's mother. The same woman who had said not to call her Miss. He'd have to make a list of who could be called what sometime.

His fox ears twitched at the talking around unsure of what conversation he should listen to, if any. One could never tell if someone was discussing a plot of evil origins that he and Emma might have to put a stop to. He doubt he'd hear one around here, though. This place wasn't really one where evil villians discussed their latest plots.

-----

"How would you know? Have you ever had a dog?" Aislinn questioned. She wasn't sure he knew what he was talking about. The only thing on her mind was at first to prove him wrong until Ruka dared them to pull one of dog tails. She stared at him afraid to say anything. If she said no, that meant she was a chicken and if she said yes? She could get in trouble.

She thought over it taking a deep breath and deciding that saying no would only make Ruka think she was weak. Narrowing her eyes, she placed her hands on her hips. "Try and stop me," she retorted with a devious smirk. Winking at Faye, she gave a smile and proceeded to head for the nearest dog tahnee.

Her eyes fell to Aniak who had just walked in. She was afraid Pandora or Liam might have heared them talking so she made her way over to him. She gave a smile stopping to stand behind him. "Hello, what's your name?" she asked. She leaned back slightly seeing if she could reach his tail. She looked back at him whispering an apology before reaching out and pulling.

"Well I was tugging on that girl's ears and she said not to...so...I don't think they'd like their tails pulled either. Reynee got her tail pulled once and she got really mad..." Reynee had never looked so scary before! Faye frowned and looked over to the group. Her mother was over there! There was no way Faye could do that! Eight could get angry at her and there'd be no way for her to avoid punishment of some kind!

"I don't think it's really a good idea, right Aislinn?" Aislinn was logical! She'd agree, right? ...No answer came. The cherub blinked and looked around. "...Aislinn...?" No...she wasn't! She couldn't! She wouldn't! But she was. She could...and she would. Faye's eyes narrowed to glare at Ruka, flying after Aislinn to try and stop her...

But she was a moment too late. Faye's eyes widened when she saw the tail get grabbed onto, flying right over Aislinn's head and landing head first in a chair.

Aniak blinked at Aislinn, his tail swishing idly behind him. He had only just opened his mouth to answer her, before feeling a sharp, rather painful tug on his tail.

"Anniaoooww!" he cried, jumping back from the child's grasp and gaping a bit.

"What the hell was that for?!" he demanded, rubbing his butt and letting out a soft whining sound, "What'd I ever do to you?"

He pouted at her, but made no move to go after her if she tried to run. She was just a child, after all. Maybe she didn't know better?

"Some way to start a grand galactic adventure..." he mused.

The little cherub frowned deeply and placed his hands upon his hips. Sure he had never had a dog before, but still. It only made sense! They didn't look too soft, did they? No. So there! The little boy said nothing, but watched instead as Aislinn appeared to become quite the mischievous little cupid. He thought all girls were, well, girly. Cootie-heads, like Faye...but this was priceless. He couldn't help the grin the spread across his face like wildfire.

...This was gonna be good.

When Ruka heard the cry, he howled with laughter and flittered over to Aislinn, fist pumping in the air.

"Tha' was awesome! Do it again, do it again!" he cried, green eyes bright with mirth.

--

"Ehhh. No miss, just Sukku," she answered, kneeling down to his level so she wouldn't have to look down. Her tail whisked back and forth, face and mind drawing a sudden blank. Okay...so here she was, sitting with Prem. Which one of her kids was he friends with? As much as the she-devil wracked her brain, she couldn't pull anything up. Ruka perhaps? Or Nathaniel...he had been there that one day. Emma's? She always played with boys...

Why couldn't she remember?

"Uhh...sooo...lookin' for anyone?" she ventured, looking sheepish.

Aislinn's eyes widen and she bit her bottom lip. Oh lords, perhaps being influenced by Ruka wasn't such a wise idea. She opened her mouth to explain, "I'm sorry but Ru-," she was cut off quite suddenly by an all too familiar voice.

"Aislinn!" Ane snapped racing over to her daughter. She stood in front of her, towering over the cherub. "I'm so sorry. She's usually not so rude," she told Aniak. She looked down at Aislinn her eyes showing disappointment rather than anger.

"I'm sorry...it was a dare..." she mumbled looking down at the floor. She sighed feeling completely stupid now. She should've said no, but she hadn't thought of things nor had she waited to listen to Faye. She had so wanted to prove to Ruka she was just as good as him.

"Aislinn, you're grounded for a week. No coming to the orphanage, no friends over, no television, and no telephone. I hope you like your room because you'll be spending a lot of time in there. You'll be putting your reading to good use, teaching Kali and Miette first. You'll also be reading books that are chosen by Michael and me, then you can write either a book report on each one or you can write a report on why what you did was wrong," Ane told the cherub firmly. She shook her head giving a light sigh. "You'd better say your good-byes...," she finished.

Aislinn looked up at her mother. She felt ten times worse now and looked up at Aniak repeating her apology. She sighed turning her attention to Faye. She'd been so wrapped up she hadn't gone to help her friend. "I'm sorry, Faye, I have to go. I hope you're ok," she mumbled. She turned giving a wave towards Ruka before heading to the doorway.

Faye rolled off the chair and rubbed at her head, looking around to find Aislinn again...but Ane found her first. No! This would turn out so bad! Faye gasped and ran over to Ane, clinging to her leg and whimper. "It wasn't 'Linn's fault though! Ruka dared her to do it! Please don't do it, Miss Aneeeee!" Faye whimpered, squealing when she was suddenly grabbed and picked up by a air of familiar hands.

"Shh, Faye. She's Ane's daughter, so please don't give me that face...even so, you two should know better than to even consider pulling someone's tail." Eight mumured, holding her daughter more comfortable in her arms and resting her head against Faye's. Aislinn was rational! It wasn't like her to do something like this to someone. Eight could be sure Ruka didn't get off easy either though, since apparently he'd been the cause of all this.

"But Momma! It wasn't Aislinn's faaaault!" Faye whined, climbing out of her mother's arms to hug Aislinn before she had the chance to leave. A whole week?! That was seven days! It would be so boring without both her best friends around! Eight frowned and turned to Ruka, putting her hands on her hips and raising a brow.

"Hey you, c'mere." Eight reached out to pick up Ruka, and if she managed to get a good grip on him she would proceed to walk over to Sukku and tap her on the shoulder. "Hey, Sukkubabe?" Eight couldn't do anything with Ruka except tell Sukku what happened and let her do what she felt was necessary.

Prem blanched, another one who didn't like being called miss. He gave a somewhat nervous smile. "Oh, I was just looking to see if Emma came today," he replied giving a smile. His ears twitched violently hearing the yelp from Aniak. He turned his eyes gawking to see his little sister had pulled a dog's tail.

"I can't believe she did that..." he whispered to himself turning back to look at Sukku.

-----

Miette jumped at the sound bumping into the red-haired boy she had been placed next to. He was sitting in the sunlight letting her hide in the shadows. The sound of a yelp had startled her and now she was practically hiding against him. She let out a squeak of embarrassment blushing as she moved away.

"Sorry, I'm..." shestated. She left it at that feeling like she'd said too much.

-----

Ane gave a smile at Faye. "She may not have thought of it Faye, but she chose to do it," she told the cherub giving a half smile. She didn't want to punish Aislinn but she had no choice in the matter. She had to let the girl know what she had chose to do was wrong.

"Ahh...she didn't come today, obviously. She's holding down the fort," Sukku smiled, ruffling Prem's hair. "Hey...I know! How about you come over sometime? I bet she'd love that!"

She must've really liked Prem; Sukku never invited people over. The devil considered herself a hermit, and pretty much hated company, but Emma never got a chance to really play with the others, same with Nathaniel. And she would do anything to keep her children happy.

She was all smiles until Eight came over with a thrashing Ruka in tow. How she hadn't heard the dogboy's cry was beyond her, but hearing all of the cupid's wailing gave her the impression that something had gone wrong. She simply stared at Eight and listened silently to the explanation, a slow smile creeping onto her lips.

"SHE'S LYIN'! I didn't do nuffin'!" Ruka protested, beating his little fists against the halfling.

"Wow, Ruka," she laughed, standing. "Goodness, you're a little bundle of energy. C'mere." The she-devil plucked the boy out of Eight's arms and shushed him, smile upon her face. Turning to Prem, said smile became apologetic.

"Excuse me for a moment, kiddo." She made her way to Ane, brows dipping slightly as Aislinn was scolded.

"Excuse me...Ruka, apologize." She set Ruka down, an action that he knew meant he wasn't going to get any backup in this. He chewed on his inner cheek and shuffled his feet, looking at his bare toes in a way he hoped was a bashful fashion.

"Um...it wasn' her fault, Miss Aislinn's mommy," he began. "Don' punish her...she only did it coz...coz..."

She had been super brave. He had to do something! Even if what he said was a lie.

"I told her that...that if she didn't do it, I was gonna scream and yell n' stuff! Yah, and then, um...well, don' punish her! I'll um..."

Sukkubus was nearly grinning, and a thought came to her head, hand reaching up to rub her chin. "I don't suppose you have any household jobs you need done? I do believe Ruka would be delighted to help out for...let's say a week! In exchange for the little girl's uh, freedom."

Ruka blanched.

Ane smiled down seeing Ruka try to defend Aislinn. "I'll make a compromise. Aislinn can split her chores with Ruka and I'll cut it down to two days. That should give them both some time to see why it's wrong to pull someone's tail," she stated. She was trying not to smile but it seemed so funny until she remember Aniak. He probably didn't find it as funny.

"Really? It's a deal!" Aislinn stated nodding her head enthusiastically. So maybe Ruka wasn't all bad defending her like he was. Although it seemed that Eight and Sukkubus had maybe given him a slight nudge. She smiled to both Ruka and Faye before she jumped over kissing Ruka on the cheek. She quickly bounced back to Faye wrapping her arms around the other cherub. She was so happy her mother had relented somewhat, she'd learned her lesson and now she wouldn't have to wait so long to see her friends again. Sure they could be mischievious but it was all in fun and never anything dangerous.

"All right, then. It's a deal. Thank you for speaking up Ruka." She would let his guardian handle any other punishment she thought the child deserved. She gave a soft smile rustling his hair affectionately.

The red-haired dog twitched his pierced ear, his crystalline gaze shifting towards the little mouse as she was placed next to him on the couch. He leaned his head to the side (a rather canine motion, of course) and studied her for a moment, the smallest of smiles forming on his lips.

"Hiya." He replied softly, obviously no stranger to the shyness the small mouse was feeling...then again, he'd be scared if he were a mouse child sitting next to a grown dog. "Whats your---ah!" He almost squeaked as the mouse practically fell against him. Almost.

With a small laugh, he reached out and ruffled the girl's hair. "Hey, don't worry about it...Scared me too." He was smiling fully now, his crystalline eyes closed behind his lowered sunglasses.

"Whats your name, then? Now that you've clung to me, I should know your name."

--

Her ears, which had previously been lowered, slowly started to perk again as Liam offered his comforting (well, to her ears anyway) words. Her tail even slowly began to wag once more. "Well...alright then. I'm still sorry, though." She rubbed her cheeks, trying to get her embarassed blush away, though failing miserably.

"My..name...? Oh! My name! I'm sorry, I haven't introduced myself! Thats rude...I'm sorry." She giggled nervously, her tail slowing to an unsure pace. Slightly clearing her throat and attempting to make herself look prim and proper, she eventually held her hand out to Liam, her lips curled into a happy smile.

"I'm Samira! Its really nice to meet you"

Ioyla resisted the holiest of holy temptations to squeeze Eight's breast. "I don't wanna adopt her!" the demon snapped stubornly. She folded her arms across her chest, looking like a small child having a tantrum, and pouted. "I was just askin cause she looks...rich!" Smooth, Ioyla. Smooth. She rubbed the back of her neck, smiling sheepishly. Dammit, admit it, Ioyla did want to adopt her. And many more children. Maybe then she wouldn't be so lonely, and she could sleep better nights.

The demon was about to apologize to Yeos, but...she was interrupted. The whole commotion with Faye and Ruka couldn't have lasted more than a few minutes. And Ruka was the devil's child? Disgusting. Ioyla forced the snarl off her face long enough to turn back to Yeos, completely absorbed by the child. The little ones, with the wings...yeah, they were annoying. But so cute! Shut up.

"My bad," she muttered, "wanna...Jesus, want to come live with me?
I could use the company." Ioyla uttered the last part in a voice so quiet, Eight probably wouldn't be able to hear it, but definately Yeos.

---

Yeos winced when Aniak's tail was pulled. She nervoulsy reached out to stroke her own. Yeos knew the...discomfort it caused, having one of your bodily appendages yanked on. She blinked at Ioyla's small outburst. "...wha? Oh. Uhhhm." Well, Ioyla seemed nice enough. A little weird--alright, a lotweird--and she seemed like the type to at least respect her children. Maybe even spoil them.

The dog girl sighed, running a hand through her crimson bangs. "When do I pack my bags?" She grinned, watching the slight smile curl up Ioyla's face.

"I'unno, go ask the big cheese around here."

Yeos giggled, taking Pan's hands and shaking them furiously, obviously excited. "Yay for me~!" Ioyla tried to hide the obvious smile that was growing in plain sight.

"My name is Miette. What's yours?" the small mouse asked with a smile. Now that the silence had been broken she felt it was safe to come out of her shell. She gave a soft giggle noting he had ruffled her head letting her ears lower, an act of trust. It was like a feline letting someone touch their stomach, it was their way of showing trust though it did suggest a bit of submission in their case.

She actually noticed now that she had forgotten to bring 'Lania along. She shook her head lightly noting she'd had to sneak the feline into her bed to sleep. As much as Ane loved the pets they had, she had always said it was best they slept in a basket. She knew if one pet was allowed to they'd all want to. Miette was the only one to successfully break that rule but the other pets had no idea 'Lania slept with the mouse. The kitten wouldn't have abided by the rule anyways, as most cats she had taken Miette as her pet and would not be told what to do.

Faye whimpered sadly and sat on the floor, glaring dangerously at Ruka when he was brought back with Sukku. How dare he show his face here again after what he did?! The cherub stood up and moved ten feet away from where Ruka was put down, crossing her arms stubbornly across her chest with narrowed eyes.

Eight was uneffected by the tiny fists, merely shrugging them off and letting Sukku take her son back. The halfling blinked and stared at Sukkubus, who was taking this rather well...this woman was crazy! She frowned when she realized Faye wasn't ready to be as forgiving at Sukku, Ane and Aislinn...that wasn't like her. Eight took a step toward Faye to pick her up, only to have the cherub take another three steps away from her mother. "...FayeFaye?" The cherub didn't answer, blinking and staring at Aislinn in surprise when she kissed Ruka's cheek. Well that was unexpected. Faye forced a soft smile when she was hugged, giving Aislinn a tight hug of her own in return.

---

Well it seemed to have worked! "Don't worry, it's my fault for sounding so hostile about it." Liam let a smile spread across his lips, folding his arms behind his head and finally lifting his legs off his twin's lap. Pandora, to say the least, was overjoyed by the freedom of her legs, standing and wrapping her arms around Yeos with a happy squeal.

"This is great! Want some help?" Now if she could get her and her brother adopted everything would be perfect...

Liam glanced back at his sister and her new friend, shrugging and turning back to Samira. "Samira? That's a beautiful name, it's a pleasure to meet you too." He said, taking her hand to shake. What a gentleman, eh? He'd kiss the back of her hand or something, but that was too cheesy for Liam's tastes. He paused and looked past Sam to watch the commotion on the other side of the room with a shudder, his tail instinctively bristling. "Ouch, glad that wasn't one of us. The poor guy..."

His name? The boy smirked suddenly. Oh, he'd tell her his name...

"My name..." He started. Straightening his posture, the red-head took on an unusual (if not eerily) serious expression, his crystalline eyes hardening as if this were a matter of life and death. He held out his hand in a similar fashion to what Samira had done, capturing Miette's eyes with his own.

"Is Konstantinos Triton Tyrago the third."

Samira, having heard this, flicked her ears in annoyance and then lowered them, turning her attention briefly away from Liam to stare at the creature that she was sure had some sort of a Bipolar Disorder.

"No it isn't! Thats not your name, and you know it! His name is Tino, little one." She corrected, her emerald eyes moving towards the mouse child sitting next to the red-head.

"She lies. But I suppose you can call me Tino." Still, he kept that perfectly straight face.

Samira rolled her eyes, turning back to Liam once she felt his hand take her own. At his compliment, she couldn't help but blush a bit. "Oh...Thank you...my friends cal---well...they used to call me Sammy." Her ears lowered then, feeling suddenly homesick and depressed. Thats right...she was moved here, and there was a good chance that she'd never see her old friends again.

"And You're Liam, right? I like that name, it has a nice ring to it." She forced away all thoughts of having to become a member of a foreign family, and focused on making new friends here as well. She had flinched as the other dog's tail was pulled, and once Liam said something about it, she reached down and held onto her tail almost protectively. "Poor guy...that hurts..."
