Tetania had never wondered how she came to be with Kailind before, but the conversation around her made her wonder. As she thought back, she realized Kailind had bever said anything about the subject at all; she was just there when Tet hatched and had always cared for her, as if she were the only mother Tet had ever had. As that thought arose, some feeling inside Tetania told her that that was exactly the truth; Tet had always been with Kailind and no other. Perhaps she really was created from a dream. Tet pondered this thought, then smiled. In that case, she felt happy, no, even honored, that Kailind dreamed up her and no other kyn. Glancing around, Tet noticed form the looks on the faces of kyn and riders that other felt the same. Still smiling, Tet turned back to Aedan and Minya to hear what else of the kyns' history they might reveal.

((I paraphrased Peter Pan? Whut? O.o I thought I was paraphrasing quantum theory. Or just the little that I know.))
Magnus was stunned. Myrrh's gift was much more... powerful than his. He felt ashamed that he'd only settle for a pink heart, when here... she'd given him a red one. A pulsing red one. He stared at it, thinking about what it symbolized in a rare moment of emotional clarity. He clutched it tenderly in his claws, and looking into Myrrh's eyes. It was here that he realized he really did love her, and would continue to do so for all eternity. He wanted to convey this to her, but then, he wasn't Kragen and his eloquence with words fell short. So, instead, Maggie settled down next to her and provided a warm wall of a flank for her to rest on, thrumming deeply.
Draconis thought of all the philosophical talk going on. This is what interested her the most, she loved discussions like this. But they were mostly theoretical; this was... about something real and concrete, true proof. Relying on the theory of Schrodinger's Cat, before Minya could reply she voiced her own opinion. "Well, if one of us dies, the other will continue living, right? I mean, they don't need to rely on our belief anymore, actually, from the time someone or something, even at the subatomic level, acknowledges a Kyn's existence, then they exist and... they're here. But... The bond, I don't understand. I mean, I know what it is and what it feels like, but why are Kyns, like, Twi, bonded to people like me?"

Aedan was almost reeling from all these question - serious ones that each deserved their own separate answers. Minya had misjudged, which is exactly what he had feared from the beginning. Perhaps if she had just kept away from too many details like this. But what was said was said, and now there were questions that always had bad answers to reply to. "Kyn exist without humans entirely - feral ones. And they will continue to live with or without humans." He sighed, pausing to rub his forehead a moment. "The truth is that kyn don't need us to survive, as can be seen among what you all call the ferals. Kyn are the hopes and dreams, the despair and the nightmares, of humans. You rely on them for existance already. Nothing is able to change that."
Minya pulled in air through her blue nostils, exhaling it slowly, gently, calmly. "There's no need for any of you to worry over it." She was smiling again at them all, warmly.
"Tare - I know nothing of love." He shook his head, unable or perhaps unwilling to answer that question. Minya's tail about Aedan's legs wrapped all the tighter, and she hung her head down to nuzzle his hand lightly before turning back towards the crowd to continue speaking.
"And this, this idea of our creation and evolution, this should help us find out what this little one will become." She dipped her nose towards Nicky's egg, bobbing her head lightly. "Nicky, perhaps if you would give the egg to a kyn to keep?" The European was clearly steering the conversation away from the other topics, and straight to the reason that they were here. There wasn't any opening for questions to be asked on those things again. The time had come and gone, and the answers given were probably too lacking for most. But sometimes, there were reasons for things.

"Is it a dragon?" muttered Kragen cynically, before being kicked in the leg by his rider. "No, you misjudge; I am serious," he said, instantly defensive and recoiling within his cloak. "Who is to say that dreams are limited to great reptilian beasts of varying kinds?"
"Mine are," retorted Draconis, trying to get him to shush up.
"Your mind stagnates, and your talent is being wasted, then," he said, shuffling a few feet away from her. But she followed him, and grabbed his cloak, which made him squeak and try to hide again.
She hissed, "You're being rude!" and that was that. For now, if Kragen didn't start to feel uppity about something.

Rosemary was getting restless. It had been a few hours since her last meal. Shifting from one leg to the next, Rosemary looked up at Rowan. Rowan didn't need to look at rosemary to know what Rose was about to say:
"J'ai faim."(I'm hungry) Rosemary said. It was hard to listen to Minya when her stomach was bothering her so. Rowan looked at Rosemary nervously. She hadn't brought any mkilk with her, but there was some dried meat she had left over from a hunting trip a week back. Rosemary was two days old, can she eat jerky?
Rowan decided against it, what if she made Rosy ill?
"Alright Rose, but be quiet. Stay here, and I'll go back to the den for some milk. Fill me in when I get back OK?" Rowan asked. Rosemary nodded.
"Hurry it up with that milk ok?"

at kragen's comments taku just hoffed. "our dreams have never been limited to such beasts, as I am living proof of that"
poke frowned, a little concerned that aedan didn't really answer her question, but had to be content with the answers that were given. Besides if there was something really wrong they would say so

Kragen turned and glared at Taku, resenting being spoken down to. But he didn't feel strong enough to do anything about it, so he didn't. He just laid himself down, ignoring Blue-Eye's look of sympathy. He snorted, and looked up at Minya from his place on the ground, wishing she would continue so that he would stop feeling like such a fool.
Drazio continued to nuzzle Kameko's fur and nibble her ear, seemingly unable to stop. But it was Kameko! Why should he stop? She was his, and he wanted to be near her. All the time. Forever. Because she was his, and he'd never forget that. He held her closer with the one talon, and hugged her tight with his wing. The european felt like he would never let go.
((Heh. Now it's starting to get kind of creepy for Kameko, eh?))

"To... To a kyn? You mean this is a familiar's egg?" Nicky didn't wait for a response. Instead, she stood, finally abandoning her mate's side in favor of one of her favorite kyn, the fox-like Kori.
"Mistress?" Kori was standing with her mate, Ganon's kyn Hadus, and their now-grown children.
"Kori... I want you to protect this egg for me. You've mothered and fostered others. Will you foster this one, as well?"
"Of... Of course, Mistress. I'm honored..." The fox-hued Eastern's nose dipped, giving her rider a light nuzzle. The tiny egg found its way into Kori's front paw, where it was cradled as carefully as one of her own.

Hadus nosed Kori gently. "I will help raise this creature as one of my own children." Hadus children around them immediately looked to the egg with pity. Hadus was a strict father with a stricter military training regimen.
[Tiny post, but I couldn't think of much.]

((I think Nicky was talking 'bout me, Draconis and my whole "no one should have to live forever" schpiel. Mebbe everyone should just call me DA, to prevent confusion in the future.))
It is rare for words to be more eloquent than actions, and Myrrh needed to hear no words from her mate to understand. Her own contented purring melding with Magnus' deeper voice into a barely audible almost-song, she snuggled in to the larger kyn's warmth, twining her tail around his.
Having soothed Kiko to the degree where the princess didn't feel like vanishing from embarrassment anymore, Ninja turned and looked hard at the stone-egg. Perhaps it would a basilisk, or a cockatrice, or something competely different...Absorbed in her thougths, the human was stunned as an image of something reminiscent of fire shot through her mind, so real in its brightness that it left her blind for a moment. Blinking wildly, the rider leaned back on Kiko's shoulder, relieved as darkness faded into fuzzy color and then into shapes and back into vision. Blowing a soft sigh, Ninja shook her head, trying to shake off the slight headache pounding between her temples. "Odd..."

((Actually, DW was talking about Quantum Physics. I said the whole "death is just another adventure" thing. It's about three-quarters of the way down page two, if you're bored and care to look. An' actually, I've never even read Peter Pan...Want to, though, when I get a chance to check it out of the library.))
