"we-re happy to continue!" poke said to them, although was a little concerned. She was by no means trying to be arrogant at all, but that fall... well the last time she fell onto a kyns nose from a high distance, she was knocked out for a few days.
we better...keep things easy for now poke said her mind. Testing...
of course. Rose's wing seems to be hurt as well He was making this assumption based on how awkwardly her wings were flapping now

Rowan liked the Idea, and with a bit of prodding, Rosemary finally -grudgingly- gave in and made a steep landing. She folded in her wings carefully, trying not to jostle the injured shoulder.
They waited for their opponent to do the same. Rowan took this time to take a look at Rose's wing. Carefuly twisting her body back, she pressed her hand lightly on Rose's shoulder.. She flinched and snapped her teeth together at her.
Easy with that! She growled. Rowan didn't reply, but acknowledged her through their bond. Running her hand over the area, Rosemary shivered.
Are you sure you want to continue? Rowan asked with concern.
Yes. Rosemary snapped. It was obvious she was starting to get impatient.

poke and toroth were sitting patiently on the ground, waiting for their oppontents to make the first move. Although it appeared that they were doing likeise....
the problem now was to figue out how the would make the next move....hmmm
how about a mock charge? poke asked. Her kyn mearly shrugged at the idea. He'd give it a go but, he wasn't to sure of the results. Though hopefully it would spook them enough
the appearence toroth now had was like a bull. His head was lowered, with his claws raking the gravel underneith. He also was letting out grunting noises, following with some hot steam coming from his nose.
"Toro! Toro!" poke called out, and her kyn suddenly charged, with his horns lowered. The thing was, he wasn't going all that fast

Origin (Oreo)
Day Stars

Zephyr and Eclipse entered the Lunar Obstacle race during the Lunar Festival, and Zephyr won second place. Rowan and Edoc'sil happily came home with a small white-blue egg whom Rowan named Origin and Zephyr nicknamed Oreo. Zephyr felt very close to Oreo, and is constantly watching over her in the Nursery.

Birthday is Sunday Aug 19, 2007
Oreo is very shy, often seen near Zephyr. She isn't a particularly confident one and is frightened easily. She rarely speaks her mind, and tends to bottle up feelings and end up breaking down. She doesn't seem to trust anyone but Zeph, and seems to disappear when the Silver and yellow Lunar isn't around. She particularly avoids Rosemary, which means that Rowan finds it hard to take care of her. She calls Zephyr "Big Brother"
When someone calls her Origin, she listens intently. Though it is her actual name, it is not used unless it is very important.
Rowan believes that Origin is so shy is because she was not present at the hatching. She fears the bonding didn't take place effectively, and since Zephyr was the first one there, her strongest bond was formed with the eldest lunar.
Origin however, was present at the hatching of the Kyn Spirit, and seems to see Spear as almost her own daughter. She is starting to trust others more easily.
Magic
~Earth~
Like all of Edoc'sil, Oreo is skilled in Earth magic. Actually, she has great mastery over this element, surpassing everyone but Eclipse, the Clan's most skilled Spellcaster.
~Poison~
Oreo can't kill anything yet, except perhaps small insects. But she has found ways to tamper with the body's natural order. Be careful, anger her and she might just paralyse you for a week or two. (But she doesn't anger too easily, so don't worry too much)
~Storm~
With the guidance of Zephyr, she can now summong thunder and lightning, though they aren't all too big...

~Luck the Rat~
Origin met this little fella while hunting one day. It had been injured, so Oreo took him in and nursed him back to health. The little thing has been by Oreo's side ever since.

Nightmare (Nyte)
Night Light
[Egg][Hatchling]
On the way back from Tigris's call, sorely disappointed, Eclipse travelled back to the den all by himself, frustrated. Even if he could not go to the Island of Death himself, he wanted to help. But no one in his clan would be able to- he was never going to convince their winged princess Rosemary.
It was brooding over thoughts like these that Eclipse tripped over a large pile of twigs and rock. After a few moment re-orienting himself, Eclipse found himself in an abandoned nest. Freshly hatched eggs littered the ground, and one unhatched one, a little black one with a yellow stripe on it...
"Gargoyle..." Eclipse murmured, recognizing the shape of the egg. A winged species of Kyn...was the egg still alive? Perhaps he can send this one to the Island...
And so Eclipse carried the egg back in his mouth. If he can teach this youngster about the true Kyns...about the Manchild...send him to mate on the island of Death...he will be a part of the salvation of a whole species of Kyn!
He sneaked back to the den, deposited the egg in a small corner, and spent a few hours, constantly breathing fire over the small thing.
When Rowan and Rosemary finally came back and found him, the Egg was hidden beneath him, warmed up by his fur.
"We were worried about you! Where did you go?" Rowan cried out, running into Eclipse's den.
Hunting. Can you please get out, I'm taking a nap. Eclipse snapped.
Rowan was hurt by his tone. Eclipse had never talked to her in such a sharp, cruel voice before...
As Rowan turned to leave, Eclipse took a last look at the small egg.
"Nightmare. Your name shall be Nightmare. And as Oreo is to Zephyr, you shall stay by my side until you are ready to go..."

Birthday on Thursday Oct 25, 2007
Nyte is a naive Kyn, with a stubborn innocence that seems unbreakable. This does end up with him misunderstanding and misinterpreting many things.
Nyte happens to be a great flier, which was good news for Eclipse.
Nyte knows no Magic, and the rest of his story is yet to be told, as he prepares to fly off with Tigris to the island of Death.

Spirit (Spear)
Mint

While Rosemary and her familiars were out searching for the Heart Amulet along with the help of other Kyns, Rowan was taking a different trail up the Ridgeback with Origin, in hopes of strengthening the weak bond between herself and the female Lunar.
But like every time Rowan went up to these mountains, she kept an eye out for feral Kyns. Mostly so that she won't end up getting eaten, but also to check for abandoned nest, with eggs that might have not hatched.
Oreo generally stayed quiet throughout the whole walk, with Rowan trying to get the shy female to start talking. Oreo only answered when asked directly though, and seemed quite uncomfortable without Zephyr around.
Just as Rowan was about to give up and go back, Oreo smelled another Kyn around, though the scent was old. Kyn and rider followed the scent out of curiosity, (also, its good to know who might be living in the neighbourhood) and there they found exactly what Rowan had been looking for: An abandoned nest.
There were many eggs, with only two intact. Both of them were pearly white, and Rowan wasn't sure what species they were. They could be some oddly shaped European or Gargoyle egg...maybe an Eastern?

Spear, unlike her adoptive mother Oreo, is active, playful, and rather demanding. She calms a little as she grows up, and she adopts a more serious personality against those she doesn't know. When you get to know her though, she's friendly and talkative. Spirit is often afraid of making big decisions though, and seems unsure of herself often. Spear is an amazing acrobat and would often challenge a frustrated Rosemary to competitions in the air- competitions she often win to Rose's annoyance.
Spirit's mate is paradox.
Magic
~Earth~
Like everyone else in Edoc'sil, Spear's command of Earth is formidable, and more than enough to open the entrance. Spirit seems to be good at detailed work more than large-scale manipulation of earth and rock though, and adorns her room with bas reliefs and statues.
~Fire~
Like all Kyns, Spirit can breathe fire, but her command over it is much more powerful. She is able to control its heat and intensity, deciding how much of the energy is converted into heat, and how much into light. Doing this, she can make a fire that does not burn, or an invisible fire that can melt stone.
~Air~
Spirit can bend the air around her freely, mostly to help her in her flight. She is especially good at condensing air in such a way that it forms a protective barrier around her. She also uses her air magic to further fuel her fire magic.

Arian Sora had been out hunting for a few days. He had grown quite worried and low spirited because of two things. One, he was not able to catch anything during his hunting trip. Two, something had been stalking him in the forest for the past few days. Whatever it was that was stalking him started to chase him when he was on his way back to Weslock and he ran.
Sora ran and eventually found himself in a cave. But this was no ordinary cave, it was a nest. He searched the nest desperately in hopes that he might finally find a Dragon Kyn egg. After searching for a few minutes he found what he was searching for. He found an egg that was in the shape of a cresent moon. It had probably been left behind because it was a late hatcher.
Whatever it was that had chased him before had gone and left. He headed back to Weslock carrying the egg carefully. He looked at the egg and gave a wide grin, "I shall call you Arian, my first Dragon Kyn."

Sora entered the Den of the Edoc'sil and proceeded towards the nursery to check up on his Dragon Kyn. apparantly someone had been careless and left the entrance open. Within minutes he reached the nursery. He looked around the room and saw that there was now a Lunar standing where his egg had once been. He smiled and walked up to it, "Arian?" The Lunar seemed to respond by wagging it's tail and jumping around excitedly.
Sora put his bow down for a moment and held Arian in his arms. After holding him for a second he set him down and smiled, "Comon Arian. You can help me on my hunt!" The two walked out of the nursery and within about ten minutes were outside of the Edoc'sil Den.

Zen
Ari had been out on a hunt for a specific herb that only grew on Ridgeback Mountain for one of the villagers, who'd grown quite sick. It was tiring and a tedious task but she persisted and climbed a bit higher up the mountain to see if there were any up there.
When she'd just about given up after three hours of searching and backbreaking climbing, as Ari was heading back to the village, she bumped into him. Or, rather, he nearly flattened her as he stumbled into the clearing she'd been walking through. Seeing the kyn's injuries, Ari decided to take him to Edoc'sil, where she could treat him with the herbs she'd absently collected.
He'd introduced himself as Zen before he rested.
[The Discovery]
Zen was normally a calm and collected type of Kyn. But if anyone tried to harm a member of his clan or his rider, oh, he would get very angry. One of the things he liked to do best was just soar around and appreciate the view from up in the air. He always tried not to take his ability of flight for granted, because some of his late Lunar clanmates had never particularly tried to hide their jealousy of his wings.
~Magic~
Earth - His earth magic was perhaps his most used, as he had to help Sarink shape part of their old den. He could shape and change the earth to his will, though Zen was still working on trying to manipulate the earth as well, like being able to levitate a boulder, which was what he was working on currently.
Illusion - Zen hardly had any practice with his Illusionary magic but it interested him how one could use this type of magic.
Storm - Maybe Zen had been born to do Storm magic, he didn't know but storm magic seemed to be his strongest trait, even represented by the colourful markings on his body. Zen could call on a storm, create thunder of several sizes and volume, and could even manipulate the rain to a certain point.

Eclipse had let the Injured Kyn and the human in, but he was nervous. Nobody but Lukea and Alan ever comes to visit. Poke had come once before, but she had entered through the battle Arena, and the Edoc'sil Clan tends to think of that large cavern as separate from the Den. But how could he have refused entry? The European was really injured!
Through the bond the clan had made, eclipse confirmed that everyone was out of the den except Rosemary. Oreo, Zephyr and Rowan had taken Spear out for flying practise. There was always Arian and Sora, but they weren't officially part of the clan, and Eclipse had to contact with them.
So he headed downwards toward the Lower Floor, where Eclipse could sense Rosemary enjoying a swim in Moon Lake. It got steadily warmer as Clips moved downwards, but he was hardly alarmed- this area had little volcanic activity, and the small amount that does exist helps heat the entire den during the bitter winters of the Ridgeback.
Rosemary was already waiting for him when he stepped into the large cavern. Rosemary sat at the edge of the water, splashing her tail against the reflective surface. Her feathery wings and the fur that tipped her tail were dripping wet, indication that she had been fully submerged just moments ago.
A Kyn and a human from Weslock? The Kyn was hurt? Rosemary sounded concerned- does this mean there was danger near the Den?
Getting up on all four legs, Rosemary walked beside Eclipse, up the Grand Hollow. She couldn't fly when her wings were wet, but she ignored the fact a quick wind spell would dry her off. She'd rather walk beside her mate anyways.

Rosemary and Eclipse arrived back at the Entrance Cave a little while later. Rose had already contacted the group outside and had alerted them of what had happened back at the den.
Rosemary examined Zen for a moment before turning her attention to Ari. She sat in a rather cat-like position, head held high regally. Recognition sparkled in her eyes for a moment -this was the girl who had found the Heart Amulet!- and she dipped her head in an unmistakable bow.
It is good to see you again. But cut the pleasantries, I heard that this Kyn was hurt nearby? I'd like to know what happened, I fear for the safety of my clan.
Eclipse glanced at rosemary carefully. she was rarely this polite to anyone, even Rowan. Where was the bossy, bratty, arrogant Rosemary he knew?

"I... I don't know..." Ari glanced at the resting gray European before looking at the red one in front of her.
"He barely spoke when he found me... He just told me his name. Zen."
Her fingers buried themselves in the purple and black fur of his tail, which was resting across her lap. It made her slightly more at ease with the warmth.
"I don't think there is any danger..." Ari stated slowly, thinking back to her encounter with him. He'd been alone, injured badly, but there had been no one chasing him. He'd looked really lost when he'd staggered into the clearing... "He seemed really panicked but there was no one chasing him or anything."
It was strange though. Kyn were supposed to have bonds with their riders, unless they were feral kyns, but Zen didn't seem feral. If he was wounded this badly, why hadn't his rider come yet? There had been an arrow through his wing... That meant humans had been after him... Then, out of the corner of her eye, she caught the bow and arrows strapped to Rosemary's back.
Ari subconsciously leaned back a teensy bit.
She hadn't noticed the bow the first time she met Rosemary, probably because she was too much in awe. Ari had never been too fond of archery, having accidentally been shot in the arm when her father had been trying to teach her archery when she'd been young. That was part of the reason she'd stuck with a spear.
"I... I found an arrow through his left wing..."

This Kyn told you his name? Rosemary turned to Zen and silently padded up to him.
Then I assume you are not a feral if you speak the language of humans. Tell me, where is your Rider? And what happened?
Eclipse focused on contacting the others.
Zeph is carrying me back right now. Do we know what had attacked the Kyn?
No, Rosemary is asking right now. The Kyn was injured by an arrow. You took your bow with you when you left right? Um...did you shoot anything?
Nope, nothing. Spear's size scared away every game within a mile.
Alright, how long until you get back?
A few minutes, we're not too far from the Den.

My Rider... Zen looked up at the red European. It was hard to ignore that aura of authority around her. She must be the princess. Just like how he had been the prince of his own clan... My Rider is dead.
There was simply nothing else to say. Ivan had died.
He let a quiet hiss of pain as he tried to move his wings. It didn't hurt as much as before, though. Another reason to be most grateful to that girl.

He turned his head to her in surprise. Ivan had been the only human who had ever talked to him through a bond before. Zen had heard it was possible to bond with a new Rider, but he could count the number of times that had happened in history on one claw. Was it possible..?

Rosemary dipped her head in sympathy. To lose one's bonded was a horrible experience, one that she remembered worrying about only days after her birth. Dragons naturally lived longer than humans- she and the rest of Edoc'sil would outlive Rowan one day. It was an unspoken fear all of Rowan's bonded held.
I'm sorry to hear that. Rosemary told Zen sincerely. There was a bit of a silence, and Rosemary turned to look at the great opening to the circular cave. She could feel Rowan getting closer and closer. Finally, a silver streak bounded into the cave, skidding to a halt in front of Rosemary, nearly running into the European.
It was a silver Lunar, Zephyr.
Rowan slid off of Zeph's back, looking quite ruffled. She was covered in dirt and leaves stuck out of odd places. Rosemary stared at Rowan.
"I fell off Spear's back, she's -er- not that used to having a rider while flying yet." Rowan explained, quickly grabbing and pulling a rather large leaf out of her hair that she saw through Rose's eyes. Rose quickly explained what she has learnt from Zen and Ari to Rowan.
The young women turned to face the European and healer, then asked for permission to examine Zen's wing. When she received it (I assume she did Jess) Rowan looked at it carefully, though she didn't dare to move it much.
"You shouldn't try to fly too much. There's a cave further in on this level you can stay if you want, and I suggest you stay for a while." Rowan looked at Zen with concern.
"Our Clan is currently busy with weaning a new arrival though, we won't be able to give you the medical attention you need." Rowan's eyes travelled to Ariya. "Unless if you would stay and take care of him Ari. I can show you how best to treat the wings, as it's a bit different from humans, but once from there I'm sure you can do a better job than me."
Spear and Oreo had finally managed to make it back by now. Spirit's flight was still wobbly and uncontrolled, so she flew back at the slower pace, with origin supervising. The Lunar and Eastern turned their attention to the group curiously. zephyr ended up taking them upstairs while explaining the situation to them.

She was being offered a chance to stay here and help nurse an injured Kyn back to health?
"Of course!" Ari blurted out, albeit a bit excitedly. Here was her chance to finally learn how to tend to an injured Kyn and the appropriate herbs to use on a wing wound. She only knew how to help human wounds right now, and if she could just learn how to help Kyn wounds as well, Zen would probably be able to start flying again in no time!
Who WOULDN'T say yes?!
I shouldn't be so happy though, I mean he just lost his Rider...
It's fine. The dead won't come back, however I mourn.
She turned her head so fast it was a surprise that she didn't get whiplash. He offered her an amused smile at her shock. It was obvious that she hadn't intended for him to hear that. So she was his new Rider...? Was it because she'd saved his life? Zen would not deny that had it not been for her, he surely would have died, either from madness or from the humans hunting him.
How...
You are my new rider. That's the only explanation. Then he addressed the red European with a respectful tilt of the head. Rosemary, was it? I would be content to stay in this cave while my wing heals.
What had happened to Ivan? He'd just gone out hunting one day and never returned...
((Cave 41 can be for Zen and if it's okay, Ari can have Cave 42? She'll probably spend most of her time with Zen but sooner or later, she's gotta have a room/cave of her own. xP))
