i wonder what the st pattys day event will be like neutral
DX patty is an insutl twords the Irish
the word patty used to be a term of endearment. but in america it was twisted and made into a slure word. cop cars were called patty waggons be cause they would lock up the irish and take them away. in latter years it was thought did the term come because irish were being taken in the waggons or were they driving them
for fucher reference Mick is also a slure word to irish please dont use it.
i have heard it used in 7up comersials.
the one i saw had a lepercan (lepercans arnt a popular mythical creature, it was made famous from the disney movie) and he says drink like a mick
if i catch anyone using thos words you will get a harsh talking to
evil pleas say St. Pats or St. Patricks
and i HATE the sterio type that the Irish are all drunks
"oh but im irish and i say its okay if they think were all drunks" unless you know irish history dont let me catch you saying that
stare and even if you do i still dont wana hear it.
HISTORY LESSON TIME
did you know Originaly St. Patricks day was a day of church all bars were closed and everyone prayed. only recently has there been a paraid of any kind in Ireland.
and St. Patricks day is the day it is because thats the day he died on.
when the irish first came over becuase the were treated much worce then the african people BELIVE IT OR NOT.
no one would higher an Irish person. "No Irish need apply" was in many store windows. we could only be cops or firemen cuz it was low paying, dangerus and no one eles would take the job.
when ever someone who was Irish work hard and got somewhere with there hard work it was called "the luck of the Irish" that was no luck, it was sweat and blood. it was hard work.
I know alot more. but i will keep that to myself.
i know of the hard times in northern Ireland. I am Irish and i know my history. do you?
if you dont, dont botehr trying to tell me that the steryio type is okay because you are disconected and have no right to judge.
