Amesi brightened up when she was praised by her new friend. It felt good to know that what she did was good or appreciated by someone. It made her feel like everything she did was worth something to someone somewhere. Flicking her tail, she purred slightly then rose to her paws, moving to stand beside him on the rock.
Following his gaze, she looked out at the sky. Nothing extraordinary was happening--yet. But then Inari told her what was to happen, and she suddenly became excited. She had never actually stopped and watch the great light in the sky go down. Vaguely, she wondered if her father was out looking for her yet, but the prospect of seeing the sunset soon made her forget her worries.
"Really? Wow! That sounds so pretty!" she said excitedly, wiggling beside him.
"How long until we see it?" she asked, a little impatient. But it was a sort of 'cute' impatience, in that she didn't talk in a snotty voice when she asked how long it would be, and it was genuine curiousity that drove her to ask.

Inari chuckled and peered at Amesi, so small and curious. Seemed like she was just as curious or even more curious then he had been when he was her age. Though curiosity was a good thing, a very good thing. He flicked his tail and looked to the sky, the blue was already fading to a blue-violet hue," Soon Amesi, soon, look up..."
Soon the sky began to change color, from blue to blue-violet to violet and pinks, then fading to a brighter orange and red hue mixed with the pink. It was like a whirlwind of color painted upon a canvas up high. He loved watching sunsets really, one day he wondered if he would ever watch a sunset with that 'someone' special, like how his da had his mom.
Though Inari had Amesi, his other friends too, so life was good.
Perhaps one day when he would be a warrior, he and Amesi could watch a sunset together again. Inari would rather stay in touch with his friends, though he didn't know where his future might bring him, though he knew this would always be his home.
He didn't say a word while the colors changed and the dark sky started to turn navy blue, the stars were soon coming out to shine as the pale face of the moon was coming into view. Amesi would have to get home soon he was sure, but he didn't want her walking back in the dark. Though she was curious, he'd wait to see if she asked for him to walk with her, if not, and she wished to go alone. He would follow behind her, just to make sure his new friend would get home safely.

Amesi watched the sky intently after Inari had told her to look up. But what was it that she was supposed to be looking for? So far, nothing had happened and she was wondering if maybe he had led her to the wrong spot. But he couldn't have done that, could he? Surely he remembered..
But then it happened. The sky began to change colors, from one beautiful shade to the next. The cub's eyes grew wide as her mouth hung open slightly in complete awe.
The sky was so magnificent! First it had started off as the normal blue of any day, then it slowly began to change. First it faded into a sort of violet color, next turning into a more vibrant pink and then finally settling with the most startling mixture of reds, oranges, and pinks. It was simply amazing, how had she managed to miss this before?
The female now loved watching the sky, she simply couldn't take her eyes off of it. But then she noticed that stars were coming out and the moon was visible. Tearing her gaze from the beautiful sky, she forced herself to look around. It was dark! Her parents would be so worried about her. But Inari--
"Oh! That was so pretty! I don't know how I missed it before. I'm going to watch the sunset every day now! Thank you Inari!" she giggled, bouncing forward to playfully nudge his shoulder with the top of her head. "You're my best friend!"
"But it's late!" she cried, remembering it again. "I have to go home..." She turned around as if to leave, but then she realized that she didn't know quite where she was. Inari had led her here, and she hadn't paid enough attention to find her way back in the dark. Thus, she turned back towards the male and smiled sheepishly.
"Can you take me back?"

Inari smiled and flicked his tail, stood up and made sure to stick close to Amesi, he didn't want to lose her in the dark, though he would probably get more lost then she, she was white, he was darker. However, that didn't matter to him at all. "Yea, it is late...I hope your parents won't get mad at me for keeping you away for so long."
He watched her turn as if she was going to start home, and he watched, and would take paw steps after her if she went off on her own. He didn't want something to try and kidnap her in the middle of the night. Though he would fend them off, he was getting stronger now, he would make sure she would get home safe.
When Amesi asked if he would walk her back, he nodded, puffed his chest out, "Of course, I wouldn't want you going home by yourself anyway, I want to make sure you get home alright," he said with a nod. "Not to say you wouldn't on your own, just want to make sure my best friend gets home alright."
He took a few steps and watched for her, he would only take a few steps at a time to make sure they wouldn't get separated.
Inari thought this turned out to be a great day afterall.

Amesi smiled and wiggled slightly. What a day! She had made a new friend and had seen the most beautiful thing in the whole world. She couldn't wait to tell her parents all about it.
"Come on!" she giggled, hopping down from the rock they were on onto the soft dirt below. She turned around for a moment to make sure he was following then turned back around. At first she didn't know which way to go, yet then she remembered for a moment and set off again, her tail whisking excitedly.
"This way, right Inari?" she asked, just in case. "Man, daddy will be so happy to know that I made a new friend. And mommy! I need to show her the sunset tomorrow.." she continued on like that, babbling random things to keep the silence from stretching out. She had a lot to say, as she always did. After a few minutes of quick walking, she felt she was nearing her family's den. Glancing around, she was relieved to learn that she recognized the area.
Faintly in the background, she could hear her father calling out for her. Turning towards Inari again, she smiled and giggled.
"Thanks, Inari. That was really pretty!" Purring, she stepped forward to nuzzle him, then she turned around and bounded off towards her parents.

Inari didn't say too much on their way back, Amesi's sense of direction seemed to be very good, he was surprised and speechless really. He had gotten lost so many times before, he remembered when he got lost once before, and Sarabi helped him. He'd never forget that night, or her, or that moment, he'd always hold it close in his hearts.
His friends, meant everything to him.
He laughed as she seemed to ramble on, he wondered if he had done that before as well. Probably, cubs were alike in many things they did, even if they weren't related at all. He was glad she was happy to make a new friend, and so was he. Perhaps Amesi would stay here, and his friends would be close by.
He heard a voice in the distance, probably someone looking for her. He smiled and had a somewhat shocked expression upon his maw when she nuzzled and purred against him, then bounded off.
That was strange.
What was that?
Inari wasn't particularly sure, though as he watched Amesi bound off, he smiled to himself, turned around and headed 'home' himself. He'd remember her name, his new friends name, the one who called him best friend, the one who was so curious,
"Amesi..."
