At sight the rose seems
Beautiful, welcoming
Its bright crimson color
In contrast to the warm sun
The rose attracts all
To view it
In its splendor and grace
And behold its color
But some want more
Than to just view the rose
They want it for themselves
So they reach out to pick it
But on the stem grows thorns
Which cut deeply
Adding the crimson blood
To its own red petals Be right back, gotta do the dishes.
