A few moments later, a frantic-looking woman hoves into view. "Have you seen a little girl with black skin and yellow--" it's now she sees the sleeping Elizabeth.
"Oh, thank goodness you've found her!" she exclaims, rushing toward Polgara. "I've been looking everywhere for the little minx. She'd wandered off yet again."

Polgara smiles warmly at the woman, and bows her head slightly, her humming had ceased when she had entered the room. "Well, they do that from time to time," She chuckled softly to herself, knowing that fact was far too true. "They love to explore," Brushing the child's hair again, she gently stood, holding the toddler in her arms with expert care so as to not jostle her too much so she'd wake. "She was very sweet, you must be a wonderful mother," Polgara did not give out that kind of praise often.

"Thank you for taking care of her," says Mene, cradling Elizabeth to her chest. "I'm Menelie."
Elizabeth shifts around and rubs her eyes, then settles back on her mother's shoulder.
Menelie smiles and kisses the top of her head.

"Nice to meet you Menelie, I'm Polgara, High Summoner of Telrunya," Her smile would not fade, seeing the child safely with her caretaker made her feel all warm and fuzzy inside, like children did...
Or puppies...
Or kittens...
Polgara had a soft-spot for small fluffy cute things, and children, but then, that was just how she was.
Bowing slightly she smiled. "If you ever need me to do it again, don't hesitate to ask, I am always here, and my sechdule allows me a lot of free time."

That's a hell of a title, thinks Mene. "Thank you," she says again. "Elizabeth will undoubtedly find her way away from me again. Little escape artist, she is," she says fondly, twirling one of Elizabeth's black curls around her finger.

Polgara chuckled, the back of her hand coming up to cover her mouth. "Aren't all children? I remember mine would always get away from me somehow or another, I swear, the only way to keep them anywhere is to tie them down!" Shaking her head a little she smirked. "And even then, they learn how to get out of that too," It was half joke, half truth.

Mene smiles. "That's quite true," she says. Mene had raised her fair share of children of all sorts. It's rather unsettling sometimes, though, caring for one so....human-looking.

Polgara smiled, "Yes, but still, I can't help but love them, they're so sweet when they want to be, and that makes it really hard to stay mad at them for very long," It was true, Polgara could be a big, big softy when she needed to be. But Gaurdians help you if you EVER got onto her bad side, and made her need to defend her children, adopted or otherwise.
You might well lose an arm!

Elizabeth makes a burbling noise in her sleep and rubs her eyes.
Mene nods, agreeing. She rocks back and forth at the hips, cradling her newest charge. "And they look up at you with that face..." She does her best imitation of the I'm-Adorable-Please-Let-Me-Have-My-Way Face.

Polgara laughs, but softly, so as to not wake Elizabeth. "Yes, yes, that face is truely a very hard thing to reisist, but sometimes you have to, and send them to bed without supper!" She sighed a little, remembering, and remembering again her fate as an Elder.
But she wouldn't dwell on that, since she would continue to adopt lonely children, and she would always auntify herself.

Mene laughs quietly and nods. "How many children do you have?" she asks, making small talk.
[We should find a way to bring this to a close, because Mene can talk forever.]

"Three actual children, one adopted, though, if you were to ask him, it wasn't much of an adoption, he wasn't a child long..." It was regretful, but Hi was who he was. "One of my natural children only recently found her way back home, I did miss her so, and the other two... They don't talk to me much, both are grown, and my son I think hates me..." She gasped softly and covered her mouth with her hand. "Oh, but I shouldn't be going on like that!"

[Woah, who spaced out? Mene spaced out...]
Mene smiles at Polgara and nods a bit. "I think me and the little one should be going now...She's getting heavy and would undoubtedly be more comfortable in her bed. It was very nice meeting you, and thank you again for taking care of Elizabeth."

"Anytime she needs care, my door is always open," Polgara smiled. "You know, for when you need a break," She winked softly at Mene before bowing slightly and moving back to the couch to sit. "Do have a good night, and a pleasent and safe trip home."
