Harabu sighed, "Why didn't I tell you earlier because I didn't want to believe it was true." He had told his daughter that in different words and now he was telling his mate.

"Asi wasn't any help to me.. I met their mother so briefly and... well there she is." He was somewhat grateful that Ihlo went to Amani and hoped that Amani wouldn't be harsh not that he thought she had it in her to be anyway.

Tears continued to slowly fall from Amani's eyes, but she accepted Ihlo's nuzzle with a sad smile.
"Thank you," she whispered to her mate's daughter. She nodded slowly at Harabu's words and sighed.

"These things happen, I guess. I know I don't have to ask you never to do that again. I know you wouldn't do that to me, to your daughter... to our cubs..." There, she'd said it. Well... Maybe she'd have to clarify, it was a rather vague statement.
"I hope you'll more involved in the lives of the cubs we'll soon have, I mean..." she hoped he understood. She never was one to be blunt with anything unless she was upset.

Ihlo had to mentally block a few of the things her father had said in his defense, since they still hurt slightly inside. As willing and happy as she was to try the 'family' thing with her father, it still felt icy inside to think he never wanted to believe she even existed. But nevermind that now, she had him back and she could have a family...

...more than she realised...

Happy to be a sort of comfort to Amani in her time of upset, she was caught off-guard by the revelation that her father was to be a father again. She'd only just found him! And...he was going to have new cubs. Maybe a new daughter...

A brief sadness flashed across Ihlo's pale face before she masked it with the happiness that was due for such an announcement. She wasn't sure if she should say anything though...she just nuzzled Amani again.

Harabu lowered his head, "You know I would do no such thing Amani!" His head then shot up. Amani was pregnant?

He walked over and nuzzled Amani happily but only for a short while it had occured to him though this was amazing noise and he couldn't have been happier... what about Ihlo?

He nuzzled his daughter and let out a small purr like rumble and then laid down in front of both the girls.

"We can have a family, a large one together. Ihlo can be the daughter and the sister if she wants and then we can be the parents." He smiled at Amani as he spoke. "We will make this work and Ihlo." His eyes turned to his daughter with a soft smile. "You will always be welcome with us, you can live with us if you want. You are after all family as well and they will be your brothers and sisters." He smiled and hoped that would be enough to reassure them both.

Amani leaned into his nuzzle, her eyes closed, but a smile was on her maw. A true smile.
She wiped the tears from her face onto her paw and when she looked up, her expression was content. Tired, but content.

When Harabu spoke to both her and his daughter, she looked from him to the white lioness and nodded.
"Ihlo, when I was a cub, I always thought it would be nice to have a sister. Especially a big sister, someone I could look up to and run to if I was scared. They'll need their big sister, too, I'm sure," she added. Amani never had it in her to hate, so how could she not care for Ihlo? True, she was not her daughter by her blood, but she was Harabu's daughter and that meant she deserved just as much love as the unborn cubs.

And Amani always tried to give others what she felt they deserved.

Amani's words danced about her skull and she entertained the idea of being a big sister. She could relate more to Amani than she realised, being the only girl in her immediate family. She would have loved a sister.

And she had a chance.

She rumbled back at her father, a broad smile on her muzzle until his touch left her and he sat down. Ihlo looked down at her white paws, so different they were to her father's, a negative to him. Was she so different? Was he so different?

"I'll be here for you...and for them," she smiled.
