I think that's because there was just a bit of resentment towards the VCs because of how they were chosen. They weren't elelcted, Zae just assigned them one day and that was that. They also were making choices without consulting the guild, which, since they were from among the masses and unelected, sparked resentment.

No offense, but that sounds like a personal problem to me. Perhaps quitting a couple of dead guilds is in order?

Better is not best. Agreed, people have to decide to settle down on their own, however a VC can put down the public arguing, and force them to take it to PMs or be punished for it.

In a way, yes that's good, but it's also bad. It leaves nobody there to be the hands that push the fighters apart when the come to blows. Arguments happen, even among mature adults brawls occur, it's human nature. I've taken psychology classes on relationships between people, there's something about our species that makes it very hard for use to cooperate with everyone. Perhaps it's because we don't allow killing of others, or don't eat our young, whatever it is that leaves the troublemakers around results in an inability to completely cooperate.

Okay, so you did read. I see what you mean, but I disagree. Anonymously or no, the VCs would be upset if none of their attempts resulted in positive feedback like happened to Meru and Nymphie.

That wasn't intended to be offensive, by the way, but your idea wouldn't hold up. I wasn't offended. I know that it probably wouldn't work, but if we made an effort together, I think we could make SOMETHING work without having VCs. We all have a problem, we all admit we need leadership. A way to fix that would be to make someone "in charge' that we all agree upon, such as IHD or someone, and then listen to them. If it's someone everyone likes and respects, then it would have a fighting chance. I've called this guild a family before. And in a family, there is COMPROMISE. We have to work TOGETHER to keep our ship from sinking. No one person can't do it by themselves. But I think we can solve it right here, in our guildyhome.
Ret, it's a really nice fantasy, but we're not a family. I wish we were, because it would make it all very easy for us, but we're not.

Sieg Reyu.2 I love Zae as much as everyone else and was deeply saddened by the news of her leaving, but I knew better than to cling onto her and her rule. I mean, when Washington stepped down from being president after his second term did everyone turn a blind eye to their country's needs and hope he would come back for a third term? NO!!!!!!!!! When Booth popped a cap in Lincoln's head what would have happened if everyone decided to just wait and hope that he would come back to life and lead them some more, while in the mean time, they simply looked after themselves and ignored the growing problems? All the other country's would have got together and done the humane thing. Shot everyone in the head. Oh yeah, and by the way, I have a dead guild I bought eons ago that I would be willing to sell for as low as 8k.
I laughed audibly at that bit about Lincoln.
If I can find support for this, I'd like to take you up on the offer of your dead guild.

Also, those of you who are all "This is Zae's idea, Zae's game, etc."
America became a country because the Colonists decided to become an independant nation. It was THEIR idea. Does ANYONE say that America is Benjamin Franklin's country because it was HIS idea? Does anyone say that America is Thomas Jefferson's country because it was HIS idea? Does anyone say that America is John Adam's country because it was HIS idea?
No.
Take a lesson from history if you please and think about this from a "what's best for the guild" standpoint and not a "IT'S BEING UNLOYAL TO ZAE!"
(I realize that the names I used as examples are just names from the Continental Congress that issued the Declaration of Independance, and may or may not be historically accurate as them being the inventors of this idea, but look at the point, not the accuracy of the minor details.)

Second, the part you struck out is the only part I'm going to bother replying to.
A. In this guild, once VCs are elected, I will no longer have power.
B. I have only accused people who are all "Zae this" and "Zae that" of having a god complex. They are far from the only two people to have disagreed with me.
C. I fail to see how I have an ego if I am trying to do this anonymously, thus getting no personal credit if it succeeds.

I mean if everyone hid behind a mule and said things where would we all be? we wouldn't really know each other aor anything.
