That's fascinating. I find haunted objects more appealing than haunted places, mostly because they go from place to place rather than staying in one location, and hence are easier to come by. Sometimes when I'm shopping at thrift stores or garage sales I pick our spooky looking things in the hope that it may be cursed or haunted. :]

I know how you feel. I used to have Robert in my siggy, but my guild needs more advertising, then I'll put him back. ^_^

Dolls are weird and can be pretty creepy.

There's this really old and famous doll named Robert that lives in a museum down in Florida. I'm guessing some of you have heard the story behind this doll...

Eeeeeee! Robert the doll makes me hide under the covers! gonk

I've always been fascinated with haunted dolls, its a very interesting concept. It would be quite the experience to have one, but rather creepy. I would probably be afraid to sleep haha. I had this one experience where I was sleeping and all of a sudden I woke up and I heard this shuffling sound in my room. It almost sounded like a wind up toy or a mechanical sound. I think it was cursing or mumbling under its breath, but needless to say I wasn't about to look, I couldn't even move myself to catch a glimpse. Finally however, I did get up and there was this little stuff animal sitting against the wall (maybe I left it there, I don't remember), but anyway, I wasn't going to take any chances so I put it in my closet haha. Has anyone ever heard the story about the Robert doll?

That would seriourly freak me out. Forget putting the toy in the closet I would have tied it up and thrown it away. I have a really bad fear of dolls. But since you have just woken up it might have been part of you brain clinging onto what was left of a dream while trying to ade sense of what was going on in the dark.

As for the Robert doll the last two pages of posts have been pretty much all on him and his story.

I love collecting old porceline dolls, but ironically, the only one I've ever had an experiance with was a new one.

I was probably five or six at the time. I had a bookcase in my room that I used as a dollhouse for my barbies, with different "rooms" on each floor.

One day I was across the room at my dresser. The shelf was on the left. I hadn't played with my barbies for a few days, and they were set up right where I had left them, in chairs, facing each other.

I was turned so that I wasn't looking at them dead on, but also not out of the corner of my eye, either.

And Ken turned to look at me.

Very, very, slowly.

It completely freaked me out, what with the smiles they paint on their faces. I threw a bandana over him so he'd stop looking at me (have you ever seen a ken doll's eyes follow you? I have), and refused to go near that shelf for about a year.

Even after wards, I never used that doll again, and sold it at our next garage sale.

the goat is the creepiest.

"goooaat, goooatt"

no, I'm not being sarcastic. Picturing a creepy doll randomly saying something like goat is so ominious it's like just plain wrong type of creepy.

When I was younger my mom would buy me a doll every year for chirstmas. At first it was baby bolls then it became porclin dolls. I still have all my porclin dolls though they are all in boxes. I don't like dolls and Robert really creeped me out. I hate old dolls from way back in the day. I think they look creepy.

I feel the exact same way, although it was my aunt not my mom who bought me dolls. I sorta wanna give 'em back to her, but I don't wanna insult'er

I heard on the travel channel show a while back that Robert used to have his own room and everything in the attic and to this day the people in the house/museum won't go up there.
Wow. *shudders* the good thing though is they said that what ever is in Robert is dying slowly.

Wow, some of these are really creepy stories! Interesting that some of them even occur with mass-produced dolls, too...*Can hear the Mattel hotline buzzing about their new, haunted Ken doll.*

As for owning a haunted doll? I'm more of a stuffed animal collector. If I were to encounter one, I'd probably sense the vibes first...If it wanted to kill me, I'd know.

I never had any weird experiences with dolls except this porcelain one with this totally lifelike eys... *shudder*

And another experience, I just remembered.

Sometimes I visit my grandma and grandpa's house and they have this stuffed panda. Well the panda is sitting by the bedroom doorway as a decoration, and when I wake up there the panda is always sitting by me on the bed eek Scare the s**t out of me when I was younger. And my grandpa is dead, and grandma is in a wheelchair, so why would she bother putting a panda on my bed?

I despise that doll, yet I want to see him someday.

I used to love getting porcelain dolls at Christmas, but I had these rabbit dolls- the ones where the head, hands and feet are porcelain and the rest of the body is fabric and cotton, right? At night, their legs would swing back and forth.

Oh, I have heard about Robert....he creeps me out sooo much. I would watch the doctumentries on him and it freaked me out, lol. My uncle almost moved to Key West, FL but he never did. If he would have moved there and we visited I probably would have ended up visiting the museum and seen him. In a way I'm glad we didnt go, lol. I probably would have had nightmares. whee

hm... pm me and say the story, i want to hear about this story!
