Minuit stopped. Her tail hung over her head, and she looked up at it. Maybe her tail had the answer? 'Tail, do you have the answer?'
Minuit waited.
The tail didn't have the answer, so she ran back towards the other hatchlings.

He was almost there… creeping low on his belly, Asariel’s eyes stayed locked on that black tail of Zera’s. It was so close now… so temptingly close… he almost let out another blurp of dismay as Zera suddenly climbed up into the tree, but he held it back. He could still get it, after all! It was really more of luck than anything else that enabled the little hatchling to get this close. Butt wiggling in the air, he launched himself as high as he could (which really wasn’t all that high at all), and nipped lightly at Zera’s tail. He didn’t bite it (mostly because he hadn’t gotten that high), but there was no way that Zera could miss the n**.
Landing clumsily on the ground once more, he scrambled back to the other hatchlings, giggling with evil delight in his mind. His getaway was spoiled as he, once again, tripped over nothing. Noticing Minuit, he gamboled over to the purple hatchling, standing up on his hind legs and little talons raking the air as he challenged her to a playfight.

Zera felt hotbreath on her tail and yelped loudly! She saw the Blue dragon running for safety and ran after him. She watched him trip over nothing and tumble into the purple dragon. She, unable to stop in time, ran head first into the blue dragon, but she still wasn't stoped, she smashed into a maple tree, hurting one of her eyes. She let out a wail of Pain.

Minuit closed her purple eyes, and reached out with her mind to the other dragon. 'M-Minuit.' She thought concentrating on the other dragon.

As something stumbled into him, Asariel panicked and landed back on all four feet. Looking around, he caught sight of Zera careening into a tree and cheeped his concern. Unaware that Zera was afraid of him, he waddled closer, stretching out his neck cautiously. He stopped in his tracks as he heard something. Blurping his confusion, he looked back at Minuit, wondering what she was doing with her eyes closed. For a moment, he had been certain he had heard something in his mind…
Cautiously edging away from Minuit, he scraped a little closer to Zera. Snuffling at the ground, he rolled another pretty shiny stone---a shinier one than the one he had found earlier--- towards the black and red hatchling. Cheeping embarrassment, he edged away once more, wings and tail drooped. This was confusing… he was hearing things and someone got hurt. That was depressing the cheerful and social little hatchling.

Zera whined pitifully. She was having trouble seeing out of her left eye. Actually, it was more than trouble, she could see nothing out of that eye. She sensed someone approch from her blind eye. She flinched shyed away, chirping out in fear. She then heard what ever it was chirp and roll something towards her. She swung her head around and saw Asariel looking emabressed, and a little depressed. As much as she wished to comfort Asariel and apologize, her eye hurt much to much and she was forced to lie down and wait for the pain to subside.

Asariel looked around, wondering if there was anyone around who could help. He was vaguely aware in a childish sort of way that adults were the ones who were supposed to handle this, but most of them seemed busy doing adulty type things, which seemed to mostly consist of standing around and making noises at each other. How boring! Well, fine. If they weren’t going to help Zera, then he would have to, now wouldn’t he?
Although… he was also aware that he had inadvertently caused this. She had started it though! She was the one who had iced his tail! Why had she done that anyway? Looking around again, Asariel noticed that most of the hatchlings were settling down for naps. Well, it had been tiring, all that running and jumping. Still, this was more important. Sitting up, he cheeped quietly again at Zera, trying to apologize and hoping that she was ok.

((Doing homework, replies may take awhile, and may be shorter than normally))
Zera cheeped an apology back, she had caused this mess. Though, she hadn't ment to, he'd surprised her and she'd iced his tail...she sighed and shook her head. Cursing herself for being stupid. She looked up a the blue dragon, and lay their, feeling sorry for herself. She wondered were the adult dragons were and what they were doing.Well she didn't their help! She thought to herself stubbrenly. She wached othe dragons curl up and and fall asleep. She looked up to her new found friend, getting over her fear of him and chirped at him. Trying to tell him to sleep and despite herself, she managed to fall into a troubled slumber for a bit, lyable to wake at any moment.

It was then that Asariel learned a vital lesson to all hatchlings; naptime solved all problems, even when someone iced your tail. Slowly lying back down, he yawned hugely and curled up. Inwardly, he was pleased that his shiny rock gift had worked. At least, Zera didn’t seem mad at him now. In fact, she wasn’t even running away! That was when Asariel learned a lesson that would probably stay with him for the rest of his life: if a female was mad at you, give her a shiny stone, and she’ll forgive you eventually. Curling up tightly, the little hatchling slept peacefully.

Zera blinked, the sun was up. Her eye was better, She had a shiny stone! Life was indeed good. She streched watching other dragons do the sane around her. All of a sudden a new feeling hit her. Hunger. SHe looked around her eyes wild. SHe wanted food. She walked over to were her new friend was still sleeping. Zera poked him with a claw and did her best to anounce that he was hungry, though it sounded much more like "Huggy"!

Presently, Asariel was having a rather pleasant dream involving lots of warmth, good food, and lots of playtime with his newfound friends. Actually… that was a lot like his real life, so maybe it wasn’t a dream after all. Suddenly, something poked him in his little fat stomach, making him ‘Blort’ in surprise. Letting out a squeal, the little blue hatchling curled up even more tightly, figuring that if he couldn’t see whatever was poking him, it couldn’t see him either. Eventually he found the flaw in that argument and slowly uncurled and opened one eye.
Getting up, he stretched and looked over at his new black and red friend and wondered what was going on. His own stomach rumbled, making him look at it with surprise and his head to one side. He poked it tentatively with his nose. That was a funny noise… and it felt empty. He needed… needed… what was it he needed?
Adults!! That’s it! He needed an adult! They did stuff that made things better! With an inquisitive noise to Zera, he waddled over to the nearest adult and started wailing like a foghorn, with the basic baby thoughts that wailing would get everyone’s attention.

Zera glared. She wanted food now! Her friend wasn't helping at all. All of a sudden he got up and started wailing. Wailing! What was he thinking! That wasn't helping her get food! She tunred toward a tree to try and taste a leaf when she saw something. It was square, and had something shiny on it. She bolted over to it. It smelled like animal skin rapped around trees. she poked it with her tail, forgetting her hunger. An old dragon stood nearby. "You like books little one?" He asked Zera, "You can have it if you like." Zera wiggled her tail and picked up the book in her mouth. She ran over to a paticulary thick tree and started clawing a hole in it. In about ten minutes she had a small cavern. Big enough for her, and her books. Still, she felt cramped. She started digging downward. In no time at all, she had made a nicely saize home, with a spot for her books and room for her stay comfetably. She scurried off to her nest and dragged her mossy bed into her "house" and lay down, admiring her newly found book.

For several minutes, Asariel continued his wailing, not noticing Zera’s absence. Eventually, once the older dragons wearied of the noises he was making, one of them dropped what appeared to be a deer leg nearby. The little hatchling tore into the meat voraciously, suddenly amazingly hungry. Once he ate his fill, he noticed a distinct lack of black-and-red dragon and he chirped curiously. Where had Zera gone?
His little tail waving, he snuffled around for a few moments, nose pressed to the ground. The only thing that this did, of course, was get dust up his nose. Sneezing, he wiped his nose on a claw before looking around. Eventually, he found a sort of trail, like some little dragon dragging something else heavy. Gripping what remained of the deer’s leg in his mouth, he dragged it along the trail, chirping happily to himself.
It didn’t take him too long to find an interesting little hole, one that smelled full of Zera. Blorting, he sat down on his haunches, and squeaked, trying to get Zera to come out so she could eat.

Zera peeked out of her hidey-hole and out at Asariel. He had food with him. SHe chirped happily and chewed on the leg until she was full. She felt like she had to thank her friend. She dragged out her new found treasure and proudly showed it to the other hatchling. She was then struck with fear as the wind blew opening the pages of her book. At first she thousght it had been broken, and sat and wailed until and adult came and hushed her and closed the book. Zera stoped wailing to make sure Asariel hadn't left.

Asariel tilted his head to one side and walked around the book carefully, wondering what it was. Or if it would attack. Puffing out his chest, he blorted at it bravely, just daring it to attack him or Zera. At that moment, the wind blew it open, startling the little hatchling. Dancing back a few steps, he bugled bravely from Zera’s side. Zera was wailing! He felt the need to… well, protect her, oddly enough, even if she had iced his tail earlier. Once the older dragon calmly shut the book, Asariel shut up.
Once again, he cautiously approached the book, prodding at it with his tail and nose. It smelled rather funny… nosing it open, he studied the marks within for a few moments, wondering if it was important. They looked like bug footprints to him. Speaking of bugs… a butterfly caught his eye, and the little hatchling promptly left the book to chase the butterfly for a few seconds, chirping excitedly.
