Tone it down? Tone WHAT down? Though Safi had a slight idea of what Xantir was referring to, he always liked to give the benefit of the doubt to others. But really, what kind of stallion would greet even his beloved with over-the-top affection in the prescnce of others? Ah, he was so amused. Still, he gave the other stallion a nod of his head, then grinned as the hill dipped and revealed the teepee area. "Well, here we are!"
Stopping on the clearing, he paused for a moment, then grinned. Since they were here.... "AMEY-GIRL, ARE YOU HERE?"

Xantir stared at him mouth slightly agape. If he tried to call her anything short of Amoena she kicked him. "Hey...hey!" He said jumping in front of the other. He wobbled a bit from the shakey landing but managed to steady him self. "Could you at least wait til I get in with Lunathiel before doing anything..." Although he didn't realize it his face was turning red under his light coat.
A pale blue ear flicked as a familliar voice reached it. "I'll be back in a bit mother..."the young mare said nuzzling her mom. She hadn't been expecting to hear from her uncle so soon but it was rather nice. "Safi!!!" She cried bursting out of the teepee. Grinning widly she could see him on the hill. She leaned forward and began to charge with a speed she didn't know she had. Once she reached the top she skidded to a halt and tugged on her Uncle's mane.
"I didn't think I'd see you so soon...what's he doing here?"Her smiling face quickly turned to a glare as she saw the second stallion. She had met Xantir a few times but never for very long. She couldn't really stand how he acted like he had such a horrible life.

Laughing, Safi returned Amoena's mane-tug with a teasing nuzzle. "Same to you, Amey; I had no idea I'd be around so soon either, but there was a slight change of plans."
Thrilled as he was to see his neice again, he was also totally loving the reaction of the other stallion. Poor guy, he looked even more miserable now that he had been earlier! If such a thing was possible, of course.
Still, he gestured towards the other stallion with his nose, including him in the conversation once Amoena had noticed him. "Well, that's part and parcel with what I'm doing here, kiddo; I found him being miserable over by the river, realized he was a bit under the weather, and realized I couldn't leave him there, especially not when he mentioned your mum as a possible help for him. So, is Luna around?" Since Amoena was and it was the middle of the day, he had a strong hunch Luna was as well. And then, maybe, he'd clarify things for the other stallion!

"Yeah...she's in the teepee eating..." She said raising her eyebrows in slight confusion. She got the feeling she was missing out on something judging by the look on Xan's face. She stepped away from her uncle then gave Xantir the once over. "Yeah, Spikey don't look so good..." She said trying not to laugh at the clearly miserable one. "You remember where we live right?" Without waiting for an answer she turned and left. Whatever was going on she wanted no part in it.
What was going on? The girl had seemed so happy and then when she saw him she looked almost disappointed. He also couldn't help but notice as her hips seemed to sway more then usual. "S-safi?" He asked remembering that was the name Amoena had called him. "You do know she's...a lot younger then you...right?" He asked making note of where the blue mare vanished. He had been pretty sure of the location before but now he didn't need to worry about the showy stallion proving him wrong again.

"A'course, Amey; and he'll get there, don't you worry." Grinning from ear to ear, Safi waved a wing after the girl as she pranced back down the hill, a smile on his lips. She was such a good kid, Amoena; Kohana was lucky his kids had turned out so well.
It was nice to see the kid again, but he hadn't forgotten what Xantir had infered earlier...and his new comment was priceless. Anger seemed to have vanished, and insteas...was that shock? Or did the white stallion feel some sort of sense of protectiveness about her? Well, obviously he wasn't too bad.
"You seem to have me at a disadvantage now that the charming girl has revealed my name; the least you could do is tell me yours now, friend. But indeed, I know she's younger than I am; I knew her when she was still in the basket, after all. Kinda hard to miss that, eh?"

Xantir didn't want to talk anymore. He sighed and made his way down the hill keeping his eyes glued to the ground. What kind of horse fell in love with a mare they had known since birth? He had fallen for a filly once but they were only two months apart. Safi had to be at least a year or two older. He had found the stallion weird and showy at first but now he just seemed rather sick.
Before he stepped into the cloth structure he turned to give Safi a rather pathetic look. "My name is Xantir...I don't expect you to remember it. I don't think I'll ever see you again..." He walked into the teepee to find Amoena and Lunathiel talking. He gave the two a faint smile before laying down not expecting the winged one to follow him.

Xantir...or Xantir the negative, as he'd always be to the white and blue stallion from now one. Talk about your depressed personalities; he needed to learn not to take everything so seriously.
Still, his depression and seriousness was in itself amusing. Safi hadn't bene planning on going into the teepee himself, but he couldn't resist finishing off what he'd started. Folding back his wings, he trotted down the hill and pokes his head into the teepee to see Amoena, Luna, and Xantir flopped on the floor being mopey. Ignoring the stallion, he flashed Luna and Amoena a warm smile before casually dropping the bomb.
"Hey Luna, did Amey tell you what happened with your depressed friend there...or am I going to have to actually speak harshly-" Here he paused, flicking his eyes at Xantir before walking over to ruffle Amoena's mane, "to my favorite neice?"
Now, to see the reaction!

Xantir's eyes flashed as he lifted his head suddenly to gape at the winged stallion. Then to the mares in the teepee then back to Safi. "Then...you mean...I am...you..." He let his head crash down to the floor to mope in his own embarrassment. He couldn't believe what he had just heard or the fact of what his first thought was. How had he been so stupid to even think Amoena was in love, at all. All he had wanted was to be alone and now he was the butt of every one's joke.
He stood keeping his head low. "I'll be going now..." He said lowly feeling rather close to snapping. He was sick, yes, but he wasn't going to stay somewhere only to be laughed at. He marched toward the flap and pushed his way out. Maybe he'd go find that Rainbow Chaser or just sleep by a teepee for the heat being let out. Whatever he did, though, he wasn't going to deal with being laughed at.

Well, that had been dramatic! Safi had been expecting to see something amusing, but Xantir had outdone even Safi's wildest expectations with that little display. But that didn't mean he was going to just let the other stallion wander off!
Shrugging at Amoena and Luna, he flashed both mares an impish grin. "I'd say no, then; but there's no way I'm going to let your depressed friend go wandering off, sick as he was. "But for now, hold all thoughts; I'll be right back."
Nodding politely at the mares, the winged stallion turned and pushed his way out of the teepee, casting around for a sign of the white stallion. Luckily, Xantir hadn't made it that far, and it was easy for Safi to catch up with him. "You know, I fail to see what good Luna or the two-legger would be able to do for you if you go tearing off like this so soon, Xantir. Or is this some sort of miracle cure I never heard of?"
Still, just because Safi was a goofball didn't mean he was dense. Xantir was either angry or embarrassed or annoyed...or maybe just all of the above. He certainly didn't know how to handle jokes! Well, maybe he'd been a bit cruel. A tiny bit. So, looking curiously at Xantir as they walked, he gave a slightly apologetic smile. "Let me guess...you didn't pick up on the fact that I'm Amey's uncle during our earlier talk, did you?"

"Ha ha ha..." He said coldly continuing to walk not even bothering to face the other stallion. He wasn't up for anymore of his jokes whether they were simple or elaborate. "I didn't see anyway I was supposed to..." He grumbled tossing his mane back to hold his head high. He wanted the other to know that he was angry and he wanted him to regret what he had done. Xantir was far to used to being at the bad end of a bit of fun and he wasn't having that here as well.
"If you came to tell me to go back you're wasting your breath." He said glancing behind keeping a stern face. "I'd rather go back to the bastards that 'gifted' me then go in there and get laughed at." That wasn't exactly true but it sounded it. If he did go anywhere he'd just be finding another human not go all the way back.

"Well, you said yourself that Amey could be a wee bit prickly, and I'd be the first to agree. Of course, the dear girl has a soft spot for me, what with me being her only and truly favorite uncle. Since you mentioned the teepee, though, I had a decent reason to assume that you'd know that fact, given the fact that I'm not exactly a stranger around. But since that obviously wasn't the case, I suppose I owe you an apology."
The words came easily, but were not completely without meaning. Now that Xantir's mane was out of the way, Safi could clearly see the anger radiating from his eyes, the neon green literally pulsing with upset. Somebody had temper issues...
Continuing to hold his position at Xantir's side, Safi was quiet for a moment before speaking once again. "You know, Luna and Amey wouldn't laugh at you. They have no idea what's going on, after all; for all they know, I just did something erratic again. Or have you forgotten that neither of them was around when we were discussing this? It's rather unfair of you to judge thembased on something they had no part in."

"It's an overall observation..." He said voice not quite as harsh. He had wanted an apology and he had gotten half of one. He wouldn't head back yet. Oh no. He wanted a complete, 100% genuine, apology and until he got one he'd keep up his run around. "...if a joke is said at some point it will be understood by all. That said Amoena is smart, she is bound to figure this out..."
He sighed and slowly came to a stop. He didn't want to say it but he was exhausted. All the running around had worn him out and the short rest hadn't helped to much. What he didn't realize was that his face was flushing with his bodies attempt to keep his temperature up.

"Possibly, yes, but nothing in this life is definite about death. But one thing is certain, you have convinced me you haven't been around much or you'd know that both Amey and Luna know better than to try and jump to any sort of conclusions in regards to me." And that was putting it mildly; h doubted that ANYONE who knew him would try and jump to conclusions beyond the fact that he was erratic.
"So I'd say that you're overreacting just a bi-hey, are you alright?" Safi had slowed to a stop as the other stallion had, but it was only after a few moments that he realized that Xantir's face was a strange color. Very red...was he going to blow up at him now?

He didn't know why he bothered with the feathered one. He had been the cause of all this. If he hadn't shown up then he wouldn't have been part of some cruel joke. If he hadn't shown up, he'd be wandering about in the wilderness still. Taking that to mind he supposed he owed the other something. Forgiveness seemed a bit much but that was the only thing he was willing to give.
"Maybe..."He grumbled trying to focus on the other. Had there always been three of him? "And yes...I'm fine...just a little tired and a bit cold. Nothing I can't deal with..." what he said wasn't the complete truth but it wasn't a lie either. He was more then a little tired, he felt like he could collapse but the cold kept him awake.

Safi's expression was skeptical as he surveyed the other stallion. Sure, he said that he was ok, but 'ok' Soquilis weren't usually that shade of red when their fur color was white. Some Soquilis were too stubborn by half, sometimes!
"Uh-huh." Safi barely let Xantir finish speaking before suddenly stepping forward and resting his cheek against the other stallion's; that brief touch was enough to feel the heat of Xantir's fever radiating off of him like a sun. "Well, you're going to deal your way back to the teepee, Xantir, or else I'm going to have to get pushy."
