"I don't remember many details of the second half." He mumbled, grabbing K'rels' arm and tugging him up the stairs. The whers were twitchy in his mind. "And as for the first part, you know you're handsome, that's why Siventh is so insufferable." He stuck out his tongue. "I don't catalogue riders like my green catalogues their dragons." His voice dropped, "Even if I did say anything it definately was not in those words."

"It always helps to hear someone say it aloud," he teased, allowing T'bell to steer him up the stairs and towards the whers. However, he paused in step before reaching them, twisting his arm quickly to free it from the greenrider's grasp and grab his arm instead, tugging T'bell back towards him. "Then what were your words, little green?"

T'bell sqeeked with the movement and steadied the wineskin. "I..." he blinked and blushed, almost at eyelevel with the brownrider because of the stairs. "I..." Think! A pout, "I'm sure I said something, but I can't seem to remember what it is at this moment. I'm sure it was eloquent and lyrical."

"Now, now," K'rel shook his head, reaching around T'bell to retrieve the wineskin and, in doing so, looping an arm around the greenrider's waist while the other kept hold of his arm. "A once-Harper wouldn't forget a such choice bit of gossip, I'm sure. What were your words, greenrider?"

"I...I..." He averted his eyes, the blush burning brightly over his pale cheeks. "Probably talked more about your personality than your looks. You know you're handsome, I simply agreed with what people were saying." He fidgeted and shrugged, his bangs were covering his eyes again. "Nice. I mean...I haven't seen a fat dragonrider. I just...you were from a Beast Hold, and that and well, Siventh...I mean of course you look good. You've been working every day. I just..."

The brownrider listened intently for perhaps the first ten words or so, then apparently decided the ramble could go on for a good while if he didn't stem it in some form or fashion. Though he hadn't slurred a word yet, he had had enough alcohol that he had very few inhibitions about anything, and potentially terrifying the greenrider was far from the top of the list.
While T'bell fidgeted and babbled on, K'rel tightened his arm around the greenrider to draw T'bell up against him, meanwhile dipping his head down to brush a kiss against his neck...then another, and another, and... Releasing T'bell's arm, he plucked the wineskin from his grasp and stole the glass from his own hand to press his palm against the small of the greenrider's back.
And somewhere in the weyr, Siventh smirked.

T'bell froze, anything else he may have said dying in his throat. He didn't exactly pull away, but his mind temporarily shut down...or exploded. He could feel the dull heat from the wine in his stomach, and the heat from the blush on his cheeks...and the heat from a certain brownrider's lips and body. He swallowed nervously and retreated mentally to Liliath.
Who was awake enough to me amused. I am not rising. She answered before he asked, You like him. He is not a dragon, but he will do. I will eat him for you if you need.
"Um...K'rel." He bit his lip nervously, "Liliath said she wasn't rising...are you...did you have too much wine?" Oh the problems this could cause if he were only drunk! "Or...or...is this...?"

K'rel felt the greenrider stiffen in his arms, but had really expected as much, and, when there were no further protests, didn't bother to cease his actions. However, he became increasingly aware of the growing mental laughter of his dragon, who had picked up on Liliath's words, and when T'bell did speak, K'rel almost immediately lifted his head to frown faintly as he met the greenrider's eyes.
"Why must everything be dragon driven?" He raised a brow almost accusingly, cocking his head to the side. "And why must you be the dimmest Harper on all of Pern?" He remained silently watching T'bell a moment longer, and then let his arm fall from the greenrider's back, expression softening to a smile of false-amusement. "You're still scared of me." He drew away from the other rider, then, after a polite nod, stepped around him and continued up the stairs.

"What? Hey!" He stomped after him, "I am not the dimmest Harper! I just can't read minds!" Hands hurriedly pushed his bangs out of his eyes now that he had to navigate stairs again. "How am I supposed to know how drunk you are? I'm not afraid of you, deadglow, I dont know what I'm doing and that is why..."
He stopped and frowned, crossing his arms but lowering his voice. "How do you think I'd feel if you woke up tomorrow thinking yourself an idiot? That would be one less rider for me to talk to, one more wingsecond to cause me problems, and one less friend." He looked down at his feet again, "I don't need to lose a friend just because there was too much wine and I look like my sisters in the dark."

Immaturity had taken hold for the moment, and K'rel was pointedly pretending to ignore the irritated greenrider as he hurried up towards the heights, pouring himself another glass of wine even as he walked. However, T'bell's words quickly provoked him to the point where he forgot all attempts at ignoring the younger rider and turned to face him instead, pointing a finger--and his wineglass--in T'bell's face. "I have already woken at your side once, greenrider, and look where that has left us. Do you honestly believe I would encourage or even permit Siventh's addiction to Liliath if I did not feel some attraction to you as well? Liliath is not the first green Siventh has ever flown, T'bell, but you don't see him hanging around the others now do you?"

"Then you could say something!" He fumed and rose a hand to calm the awoken Zephyr, then lowered his voice with effort. "I don't know how to read people like that. I didn't know how to read my best friend like that! You didn't have to like me back, you didn't have to like me any more than friends, there aren't any rules to it." He waved his free hand, "You could not care either way, or like my company as a friend and that's why you allow Liliath." He crossed his arms again. "You know just as well as I do what kind of reputations dragonriders have for that sort of thing, and whether it's true or not it does mean some things have to be made clear."
He turned away and began to pad down the stairs with slumped shoulders. "I didn't tell you to stop, I just wanted to make sure it wasn't a mistake."

"And what was I supposed t' say when you've 'ardly been back and used to flinch whenever I was near you?" K'rel snapped back, not bothering to follow after the greenrider. "Still do! You're as sharding suspicious of everyone as I am, little green, and I can't be expected to up and confess something if I'm seeing no encouragement from you. Scorch it!" He hissed through his teeth and turned his back on the retreating T'bell, storming the final distance up to the watch heights.

T'bell scowled at the stairs and only his Harper training kept him from stomping down the rest of the way. He should send the whers up there anyway, let them eat the deadglow.
I don't understand two-leggers. Liliath sighed, concern edged her voice, You are upset.
"He'd probably only wake up with a hangover anyway." T'bell muttered and leaned against the wall at the bottom of the stairs. Zephyr pressed his head against his cheek and coo'd at him in reassurance. "Maybe he'll stumble off the edge."
I would not catch him. She stretched out her neck and stood away from the brown. You will feel better later.

K'rel experienced a moment of confusion once out in the open air. Even in the tropics of the southern continent, winter nights had something of a bite to them--enough, anyway, to calm K'rel a touch as he gazed out over the weyr. He took a deep breath, exhaled, then took to his wineglass, meanwhile bespeaking Siventh.
A brief argument later, the brown reluctantly rose to his feet, stretching his wings lazily over the green beside him. I should leave him, he rumbled irritably, then bid Liliath a quiet apology before taking to the air to retrieve his rider from the heights.

Drop him. She added simply...then briefly debated waiting for the brownrider's return She could step on him. With a draconic sigh she instead followed him out, but flew to her own weyr instead. The whers were out and skirted inside at her landing. Come, they are awake.
T'bell sighed again and pushed himself from the wall. Dimmest Harper in all of Pern alright. He grumbled to himself and took a different route to his weyr, leaving the festivities behind.
