Okay, bright sunlight might technically work, but since there is no existing spell that casts bright sunlight, (lumos doesnt count) and there is a spell for fire, (incendio) fire would be more efficient. It would also be more effective because the devil's snare not only likes the darkness, but it also likes dampness. Thus, fire would bring it double discomfort, where light doesn't end dampness."
