Alone in the World
He knew her...
He knew that smile...
Those happy eyes...
The warm voice...
He knew it all...
Ezhno stared at the woman in front of him. He was so close... he could reach out a hand and touch her but he didn't dare. She might fade and disappear. She was beautiful. Her golden-brown hair cascaded in front of her as she leaned over to pick up a rouge toy. She called a name, unfamiliar but he still knew it. In fact he almost answered to it.
Evonik, it was the name she had shouted out. A man, who around his early twenties walked out and smiled at her with warm eyes. The man-Evonik- as Ezhno assumed he was called moved over to the woman and hugged her. He whispered words that Ezhno couldn't make out but by his solemn look, it was an obvious goodbye.
Tears welled in the mother's eyes as she hugged him back. She exchanged no words with him and instead kissed his forehead. The man offered her another hopeful look and turned from her, leaving the room once again.
There was nothing more for the woman to do. Ezzie watched as Lorain touched a wall with fingers and opened it. She glanced back at the last place she'd seen her son and ducked into hiding.
Lorain....
That was his mother....
That was his mother's name...
Then it all went black.
