This is gonna hurt some poep,le, but I think they're equally cool.

I must admit I really hadn't thought about it until tonight, until tonight I always assumed I liked Shadow better. But I was wrong after some long thought I prefer Sonic. Even though neither are my favorite ninja

I despise Shadow the Hedgehog. To be fair, I've grown up alot since the days where I was hating him with zealous passion, so I now know I should have respected him when he was a character who had depth, motivation and a decent backstory. All of which were drained in the future incarnations of the series.

In a fight, though, that's a tough one.

See, Shadow IS more powerful. That is canon fact. Sonic Battle has stat cards, and Shadow's is the fastest run card, making him the second fastest character in the series (Sonic CD's Japanese manual states that Metal Sonic can be up to 4 times faster than Sonic when using his overcharge maneuver, which strains his energy, but still makes him ungodly fast. It also helps me say "just because it doesn't seem fast in SA2, doesn't desptue written facts", as Metal's oevrcharge move in SA2 was ungodly slow) and he has a far greater control over Chaos energy than Sonic ever will.

Sonic, however, is stronger and more adept at maintaining Super Form, if SA2 is to be believed. To be honest, though, I forget how much stuff regarding SA2 I read in a translated fanbook and how much I read in fanfiction, darn memory and it's ability to meld everything together.

So, based on stats, Shadow would win a straight fight, Sonic would win a Super fight.

In the Sonic X universe, Shadow always wins, end of story. He's the damn Terminator or something.

Based on "if they got into a fight, storywise", Sonic would win. Good guys get to roll 12 dice before they die, if they roll more than 11, they get "Second Wind" which brings them back suddenly stronger than the opponent who practically killed them.

...

Seriously. Watch any hero versus villain battle where the hero nearly dies and tell me (s)he doesn't come back from it and kill the villain almost instantly.

I think that Shadow couldn't control his super form for as long as Sonic's is because Sonic has been doing that since Sonic 2. Shadow's first time was SA2.

In a straight up fight Shadow would win. He doesn't hold back as much as Sonic. In theory, Sonic might be more powerful if he didn't hold back. Some say he's Deity-Level powers, like Chaos.

He's depicted in Echidna legends and Shadow is based off his super form since Gerald studied the Echidnas.

So if Sonic decides not hold back and let loose, I'd see Sonic coming out on top.


And I agree Sonic X Shadow is the Terminator.

That has yet to be proven in the games.

Oh man, I want the Gold, but I can't choose...! Well, maybe Sonic cause he's been there longer and doesn't wonder about his past all the time. I dunno, I love Shadow, but he needs to go in a different direction.

Uhh....message from the future maybe? Or think about it..... Scourge looks like Sonic in the comics (if you've kept up all this time and look back in the 170-180 issues in the U.S. Archies). I bet if they were realistic, they'd look much different....but only to their own kind. Just like how we think a person looks a lot like another at some point.

That's because Scourge IS Sonic...Or at least Sonic from another dimension. The guy hails from the waaaay early days of the comic. sweatdrop

But on the subject of Sonic vs. Shadow, it's really hard to say. I'd LIKE to think that the two are equals, both being the ultimate lifeforms as made by nature and man, respectively.

I'm not really buying Battle's claim of Shadow being faster, at least not naturally (sure, I could go Mach 5 if I had rocket skates, too! : P). That's not to say Shadow would be inferior, he definitely would make up in any slowness with uber Chaos powers, not to mention teleporting (though, Sonic is capable of this too...as is Silver....Must be a hedgie thing. XP)
