She blushed lightly but grinned widely. "I can't think of any either." Walking up next to him, she nudged his wet hair then gave another small snort at how cold the water was. "I can tell. And I'm glad I didn't win. Though I probably could have just flown over it if I payed enough attention to where I was going."
Taking a few steps away, she turned and gave a flick of her slender tail. The faint sound of running water traveled to her ears as she listened quietly for a moment. As his voice broke through her thoughts, she turned her head and gave a small smirk. "Yes. It was."

He grinned as she snorted, then shook himself deliberately. "Heh. Lucky, that. Having wings and all." his voice was a rumble, and he coughed. Cold. "I've always wondered what it would be like to fly. Doesn't it give you this sense of... freedom?"

Zhenga lifted a wing to block the water that was being shook around. Cold. It was a horrible thing really. Being warm was so much better. At least you didn't shake and your nose didn't run when it was warm thats for sure!
"Wings aren't really all that special. I mean, sure you can fly and you can see from great highths. And there is a momentary feeling of freedom...until your wings tired and you need to land..." She gave her wings a little flat and lifted off the ground for a moment. "But I think it's niceer to be on the ground. The air isn't the best of place to meet new people." Folding her wings again, she touched down onto the ground softly.

He grinned. "That's one thing." he said finally. Naturally, though... well... he was a solitary creature. He liked it dark, and quiet, and peaceful. At least, he had... and then somehow, he'd become inundated. New people, tugging him out of his shell. "But sometimes, it gets frustrating, being all alone down here."

She gave a soft smile followed by an even softer giggle. "You might be alone number wise, but you're never quite alone. There are others all around you and many looking down upon you from the skies. All you really need to do it looks for them." Zhenga flicked her tail again absent mindedly a few times as her eyes looked upward. "All you need to do is call for them and they will come."
Zhenga shook her head lightly and cleared her throat quietly. "Eventually if you look hard enough you being alone number wise will disappear and there will be more."

He smiled. "Well, I'll remember that." he said finally, firmly. "And I'll start looking around a bit better." his head tilted as he thought. "Tell me a bit about yourself, Miss Zhenga? Not just the obvious. One thing about yourself that you truly enjoy. Beyond running, and flying, and that you're pink with black spots."

The tip of her tail flicked back and forth quickly as the thought. Something she sometimes did when she was thinking. "Hmm. I like running through fields of wild flowers and long walks along a moonlit beach." A large grin spread across her features as she looked at him. Of course, those were nice things to do....sometimes. But it sounded more like something on a personals ad than anything else.

He made a face. Flowers? Such a mare. "I like eating large fields of wild flowers. And as you know, long walks along a moonlit beach."
....
He sounded so lame. "I like the dark." he said finally. "I like to watch the stars go by, and wonder... what is out there, on them? I heard once that there is a star for every life... And when one star goes out, another is born somewhere else. And I wonder if one day, I'll know every star in the sky. Is that silly?"

A small giggle passed her lips and she shook her head. "You must get really hungry if you like eating large fields of wild flowers. But don't eat too many or you might get a stomach ache." Her tail reached out and tapped at the side of his stomach for a bit of emphasis on her words.
As he spoke of the stars and life, she shook her head. "No. It's not silly. I've...actually heard of it to. A long time ago. That's why I never feel a lone because everyone is watching over you."

He grinned. "I can't help it if I get a rumbly in my tumbly every so often. And the flowers do grow back." He laughed, a rough sound, as her tail tickled against his sensitive belly. And he gave her another, more honest smile as she said she had heard of it. "Though, it gets kind of troublesome when all you want is to be alone, doesn't it?"

"Then I suppose you should be thankful for some nights when the stars don't shine? They do need to take naps you know. Not everyone can stay wide awake all the time." She tapped her tail against his belly again as she stood there. Though her eyes drifted to the sky again. "Though sometimes it's good when they do shine. Sometimes you just need to have them around. To comfort you when no one else is there."

He made a face and snorted in indignation as her tail tapped his belly. Really. Then he glanced at her sidelong. "Do you have no companions to seek out?" he asked curiously. "No one who is always there at your side?"
Well.... As he pondered it, maybe it was a foolish question to ask! Even he, who had literally a dozen Soquili he could be around, was alone sometimes. And not everyone was as blessed? cursed? with that large of a... family? support group? What were they exactly?

Shaking her head lightly, she lowered her head to look at him curiously. "I have few friends since I have arrived here or one who is always there by my side. I suppose my answer to your question would be no." Though it didn't bother Zhenga that much.
She was used to being by herself persay. But that didn't mean she didn't seek out the company of others every now and again. She could be social, but at times you just felt like you needed that space to yourself.

He nodded. That was a good way to be. He liked to be alone far too much. The way he'd been running across people lately, Hedwig, and now Zhenga... two people in two months he'd not met before. Amazing. He was a regular social butterfly!
"Well, maybe you'll have someone soon. I actually have a familiar, but he's as much as a lone wolf as I. His name is Okami."

The mare gave a slight sigh along with a smile. "Maybe. But for now I'll just live how I always have. If someone or something comes along that keeps me company then I will welcome whoever or whatever it is with open arms."
Though Zhenga didn't mind the solitary life for the most part. She had others she could go see from time to time. "A familiar? Oh, you mean those little animals that I've seen hanging around some of the Soquili? Perhaps I might find one, one day. But everything comes with time."
