I still like your ink essence concept very much. But if you're going more natural and trying to pull it into the Yggdrasil tree, perhaps making it a dye instead would work. Course I wouldn't know, but hope that helps.

As for your snow one, I'm a bit confused. The Raevans abilities don't seem to match that of your essence. That is, I got the impression that the snow had more to do with feelings and not opposites. But if you want to go with opposites then perhaps the snow should reflect that by being hot instead of cold. Hot snow, now that's kinda cool. XD Sorry that sooo what not intentional. But yeah, that's what I think. Hope it helps.

Hm, well I guess. I didn't realize it was only two emotions, but still...it doesn't sound quite right yet. Like I'm not understanding how it would switch peoples emotions. Then again, now that I think about it, I guess people are usually happier when it's sunny. Maybe you just need to make it clearer is all. Sorry if I'm confusing you, I'm confusing myself, lol.

Powers:- Make sure you are not making your raevan's too strong. You've given them fantastic powers, but they might be a little on the heavy side. I don't know if having such strong powers over other people is a good thing because that could lead to serious amounts of godmodding or powerplaying. It's good that you quantified their powers, so we can see what they could be capable of, but I think it might be a bit strong. It seems like you are trying to do too much with your essences. You might want to try paring down their domains of power.

Sun: How does the ink give him the power to see into the future? Yes, its from the Yggdrasil Tree, but I don't see the revelance. I like the ink making things come to life, but I think there needs to be a certain limit of what he can and can't create.

He isn't a god, so there needs to be a line drawn. I think the invisible creatures may cause confusion, so perhaps they could in his lower stages, be outlines or crudely colored, making them look like wire frames plucked from a comic book. As he grows and his power develops, they can be more realistic and solid in apperance.

Perhaps, he draws without paper. I mean if his ink has a will and life force of its own, should it really require another medium to create things? Maybe he can manipulate ink on things already drawn or written, but preferably not things like the great masterpieces like the Mona Lisa, or important historical documents like the US Constitution. Maybe he's into graffiti, or likes certain art, but not ALL art. Maybe he can draw his own material, but can't change things made by other people, as they are creations by other lifeforms. That would be neat. Basically, you need to find limits for Sun's power. It'll help pose challenges to him and make life not so easy for him. smile

Neve: Check with Kyou about the abilities of Zul. Since he is a Lava Ice rock, he might have very similar powers. How does this essence give her the power to control other people's minds? Domains of fire and ice are popular (ex: Lazzie & Roux), so how will Neve be different, aside from being a girl? Perhaps she can manipulate one and not the other (or can but at a siginificantly weaker degree). Maybe she can't manipulate either, but can instill warm and cold by her touch. Perhaps she can only touch/hold things that are warm and cool, but not extremities like cold and hot.

I like how it reacts positively to the moon and negatively to the sun, but I don't think it would automatically guarantee vapire like powers. Perhaps, her powers are influenced by this. Like she has more (but not complete) control over her fire/ice manipulation if its night time, and less (or none) during the day. The essence would need to defined further to accommodate this. Shiva (from what I am gathering) was not a vampire, so you'd need to think about how this can be accomplished.

Like, Sun, you need to define Neve's boundaries. The manipulative trance is interesting, but I would seriously avoid it, unless, Neve, herself, slips into them and whether she remembers them or not is dependent upon her development stage.

Souls: I love the soul choices because they are wild and could lead to very interesting designs.

- Coloring. Remember that your essence will impact your raevans. For Sun, what colors are in the the Self-Induging Ink? Is there color at all? If its made from the tears of the Yggdrasil Tree, what colors do you think it would shed? What color does it draw in? One or many? For Neve, I am guessing her color palette is primarily black, white, and blue (based on the snow)?

- Costuming: For these jungle animals, I picture more tribal dress for them, especially with Sun. Since they have Chinese influences (based on Name and region where the animals come from), I could see their dress to be affected by it. With the combinations, I don't see feathers on Neve, but definitely lots of luxurious fur. Very "Intricate" accessories and costuming might stifle Kyou's art. Be open to her creative interpretation. If you have ideas of what things might look like post picture references (especially if you are dead set on certain things).

-Ears: If they are animal souls, go for the funky animal ears! smile I think that would be much more fun (like Nue's), than just elven, as many of the other raevans have pointy, elf-like ears.
Hair: Sun needs the funky monkey hair! XD That would be a nice wild mane against all the flowy, pretty hair. I'm picturing Neve, with tiger stripes in her long hair.

Shushi! Great job with the updates. Your concepts have are more solid and organized feel to them as well. I noticed that you posted a pic of Neve on your DA. Try making one up for Sun, too. You might want to post there here so we can all see them! <3

Okay, so I love the indulging ink concept a whole lot. XD It's awesome, and I'd love to see Sun.

When I read about him before getting to his powers, though, I imagined him just... being able draw in the air with his fingers, and the ink / paint / whathaveyou just hangs where it is. And maybe learning that he can animate the ink later on, stuff like that. If he's an art media-based essence, then it makes sense to me that he'd be able to create ink without necessarily having to absorb or manipulate something.
