"I wasn't done cooking yet..." Mai-lin muttered. Her face was flushed as she waited for Ran to finsih helping. When the fire was she saw a man walking towards her and her eyes grew wide. She ran over to Ran and grabbed her arm. "Come on." She hissed, dashing away, pulling Ran with her. Himi was following them. When Mai-lin deemed it safe to stop she did and looked at ran. "Thanks for saving me. You didn't have to and cause you did you lost all of your stuff. I'm sorry. Look..I have a house you can stay at until you get a new place and I can pay for all of your stuff...So umm...if you except, my name is Mai-lin."

Ran narrowed her eyes at Mai-lin and got her arm free from the other girls' grasp. "Who the hell were we running from?" She growled. "And, why would I stay with someone who wanted to blame me for something i'd never even heard about, just because i'm from Kirigakure?" She paused for a moment to cough and catch her breath.
Looking around a bit, Ran sighed and rubbed her temples a bit. Her headache had become worse, and because of all the smoke, it was a bit hard to breath. "I need to speak to the Hokage." She muttered.

Mai-lin growled. "Fine! But I won't be staying there and my father isn't like me. He doesn't care Li-wu was killed by you pain-in-the-a** Mist nins! God!" Mai-lin turned around, "And I'm sure you can find your way to the Hokage tower on your own." She muttered before starting to walk away.

A few senbon stuck out of the part of earth Mai-lin had been about to step on. "Dont throw me in with them, anymore." Ran growled, glaring at the other girl. "And, I will." She began wandering away, but felt dizzy, all of a sudden. Trying to figure it out, she fell forward in a dead feint. Too much... chakra...? was the last thing she thought before passing out.

((Heh! Sorry, mom kicked me off so she could use the coputer. I'm back now!))
Mai-lin blinked at the senbon, shaking. She turned around, about to yell at Ran when she saw the other girl faint. She ran over and looked around. "Himi?" The dog barked. "Help me, I need to get her to the hosptail." Himi nodded.
Mai-lin picked up the girl and ran to the hosptail. When she got there Himi opened the door for her. She handed the girl off to a nurse and followed her to a room. She sat down in the chair next to Ran's bed and watched the nurses moving in and out of the room until she fell asleep.

Ran opened her eyes a few hours later, wondering where she was. The white ceiling told her nothing, so she turned her head to the side, only to find Mai-lin. She also discovered that she was in a hospitol room... Great... she groaned.
Turning her head to stare at the ceiling once more, Ran sighed. She knew why she'd passed out... To say she hadnt been able to rest during the trip there wasnt the entire truth... She'd been practicing her jutsu when she did have time to rest. And, with the aiding of the people putting out the fire, it proved to be a little too much.
Coughing, Ran turned her head to the opposite side from where Mai-lin was and stared out the window, kicking the covers off of her as she did. At least the hospitol was nice and cool...

Mai-lin turned over in the hard hosptail chair, still alseep. Her eyes moved restly behind her closed lids and she seemed sad. Himi, who had curled up next to Ran, looked up at the mist nin and yiped slightly. The dog seemed to be asking if she was ok. Even if it was only with her eyes.

Ran looked over at Himi, an eyebrow rising slightly. "Hey, there..." She murmered quietly. "Dont be so loud. She isnt trying to bite my head off when she's asleep..." She looked over at Mai-lin, then turned back to look at the window. It was boring, there.
Sitting up, Ran groaned slightly at how sluggish her body was reacting. Rubbing her eyes a bit, she watched Mai-lin sleep for a moment before deciding to get out of this place. The girl would probably come after her when she awoke to find her gone, but why should she care? She was a 'pain-in-the-a** Mist nin', for goodness sakes.
Ran slid out of bed, and though it was a bit hard for her to move, she began heading out of the hospitol to go find the Hokage. Maybe she'd get to go back to Kirigakure, since the apartment provided for her was just rubble and water damage, now. "A girl could hope, couldnt she?" She murmered quietly to herself, though she doubted that would happen. They would probably just have her stay at someone else's residence until they got her a new place to stay... 'Keeping the peace' was more important then a students wants and needs, afterall.

((I guess I shall play the Hokage for the time being seeing as how we don't have one. I can't see why not. I mean all they do is sit in that tower and work on papers all day...ok porlly not but hey. Is that ok, Roy-san?))
Mai-lin turned over once again and moaned quietly. Himi looked over and knew she was having one of her nightmares. There wasn't anything she could do for her.

((Nah, we wont need one. We'll just use random Jounin and stuff until we actually get a Hokage...))
Ran was able to sneak past all the nurses and doctors without too much trouble. It wasnt like they were really expecting her to sneak out, anyways.
Yawning, she made her way towards the remains of the apartments. She could find the Hokage's office from there... She paused when she saw a Jounin walk purposefully in her direction. Stopping, she waited to see what he had to say.
The jounin happened to be her guide from earlier, and sighed when he got to her. They talked a bit, Ran explaining the fire in a bit more detale then anyone else managed to muster from the remains, and he led her to her new place to stay.
Upon arrival, Ran sighed when she noticed it was the same sort of place... 3 rooms... lumpy bed... lousy porch. Just remaining silent through the guide's talk, he left her again, and she went and flopped onto the bed, still tired and moving slowly. She just wanted to be done with this place, already... go back to Kirigakure and join the gennin from there, instead of remaining with bratty Leaf-nin...

((Dang, I was going to hokage say that since it was Mai-lin's fault Ran could stay at the Inuzuka household.But I can work with this I guess. And are we going to have a "SasuNaru" moment like in the begingin of the show/manga?))
Another Jounin walked in, carrying the sleeping Mai-lin. "This is the only room and we can't have her going back to the Inuzuka household yet. You two are going to have share this appt. We're sorry but since it's the only thing we can do at the moment. And it works out because you two are going to be on the same team so you can help each other out." She placed Mai-lin down on the other side of the bed. "And don't let her get to you. We've chased off too many Mist nins because of her. She really is harmless most of the time. In fact her bark is worse then her bite."
With that the Jounin left, leaving the two alone.

Ran narrowed her eyes at the retreating jounin, then at Mai-lin. Why do I have to be on her team? she thought, looking rather ticked off. She moved and got up before hoovering over the sleeping gennin for a moment, wondering why the hell she had to not only room with the girl who'd made her life hell since she'd gotten there, and be on the same team as her, as well. She was kindof hoping the girl would wake then... wake up with a glaring Kaguya in her face and possibly freak out...

((Himi is going to be 'bad' she doens't mean to though. And you're laugh scared me.Oh, god. I can't believe I'm going to do this. I've learned too much from kaji-san. O_O))
Himi walked inside, closing the door with her back foot. She looked up at the girl hovering over Mai-lin and blinked. Was something wrong with Mai-lin?! At that thought the dog ran over and jumpped onto Ran, causeing her head to go down. Right onto Mai-lin's. In no other way but the oh so famous kissing way.
Mai-lin's eyes snapped opened and she pushed Ran away. "What the hell?! You're trying to take advantage of me in my sleep?!"

Ran fell onto her back and coughed a bit before wiping at her mouth furiously and spitting, almost as if she'd accidently put poison in her mouth. "More like your mutt pushed me into you." She growled, glaring at the other girl as she sat up, wiping her mouth a bit before coughing. She lay back again, glaring furiously at the ceiling as she rested for a moment.
"We have to share a room. We're on the same team." Ran eventually muttered before sitting up again, and then slowly standing up. "You dont harass me, You dont wake up with bone-senbon sticking out of some place. Am I clear?" She growled.

"Teme! Teme, teme, teme! I've sent countless Mist nin back before and you're nothing but just another one of em. And I can always go ho-...Li-wu! Crap!" Mai-lin stood up and pulled on her shoes before running out of the building. She ran to the ruins of what had been her old home and walked into them after taking off her shoes and leaving them outside of the ruins.
She winced as she kneeled down where she was almost sure she her appt had been. The ashes were still hot and the girl was sure there was most likely small fires waiting to pop up at any time but she didn't care. She had to find it!
Tears slowly ran down her face as she started looking. She winced when a piece of melted glass cut into her skin. "Li-wu..." She whispered.
