Yubikiri nodded, smile spreading and becoming more sincere. The thought of a cozy cottage out here by the forest seemed inviting to him, much more than the apartment building he lived in. He was hesitant to head back there, all those watchful gazes on the mysterious and psychotic cat mage... it unnerved him after a long night. "I would love that. Asprin doesn't sound too bad either, but I'd rather not rely on drugs," he stated, sticking his tongue out playfully as he followed.
But before he made it very far, he stopped and turned around to look at Kaoru. He was still overlooking the flowers, seemed to be lost in thought. With a smirk, thinking it was rather cute to see the shy fox hovering over a batch of flowers, hopped back over and grabbed onto his shoulder lightly. "Time to get going, Kaoru. Come on," he said softly, smiling at him. He didn't want to startle him again, knowing how tense their relationship was after such a bad first impression.

“Haha… yeah, I can understand that. I’m not too fond of taking pills myself.” He stopped, noticing Yu wasn’t following and nor was Kaoru, and turned around to see what was up. He smirked at the thought. Hopefully Yu would be Kaoru’s first friend outside the cozy cottage? He liked to hope so… but Yu was trying, and he could see that. In time, Ran concluded, Kaoru would warm up to his company. I mean, he would have to; Yu was Ran’s student after all.
Kaoru jumped a little from the hand grabbed onto his shoulder. He turned his head around rather quickly to see who it was. His eyes widened only slightly, and he held his breath from the surprise. “Ah… ah…” He decided to forget trying to talk and just nodded instead. He took one last look at the flowers in front of him and turned to walk away. He wanted to remember this place, so he might be able to come back here with Kuro. To show her this place, she’d like it. He walked to catch up with Ran, who was standing there with a smile on his face waiting for them. And he still held the flower close, playing with it.

Yubikiri cringed as he felt with his hand Kaoru's muscles tense slightly. He tried to be careful... but he guessed with a fox this closed off from the world, it was natural to jump at every little thing. His face said that he was sorry about it, even if he knew it was unavoidable; he wasn't even sure if Kaoru saw it as he headed back over to Ran's side, but it was better than nothing, he guessed.
He looked back at the patch of flowers before moving any further, a studious look on his face. His eyes turned to glare at them, feeling their combined power that made him feel less control over himself. He wasn't going to let that happen now, though. No matter how little control he had. After all, if he was going to win Kaoru's trust, or even his new master's, he was going to have to shape up. He didn't want to disappoint them now, when he was doing so well.
Ears perked, he turned quickly and dashed off to catch up to his two new acquaintances, almost embarrassed there was such a pause from him. He wasn't one to take the time to evaluate a situation unless there was a pause from everyone, but with his loss of control came those times. "Sorry about that. So, we off now, then? How far is it?" he asked, smile wide once more as he stood between them, a hand on each of their backs to move them along. Even if Ran carried some of the flowers with him, if they could get away from the larger mass of them behind the trio the better he would be. At least, he hoped.

Ran’s face twisted with a smirk on his face as Yu darted toward the two. It seemed he was lost in thought as well as Kaoru was. It wasn’t like him, he thought. But they haven’t known him for a long time, not even a half hour. He shrugged this off and smiled at the cat. “Yes, and it isn’t too far. It is right outside the forest.” He nodded and pointed behind them, then turned around as Yu’s hand pressed against his back to move them along.
Kaoru wasn’t paying much attention to Ran and Yu’s conversation, but was awoken from his thoughts when he felt the cat’s hand on his back. He didn’t jump this time, still not entirely paying mind to what was happening and still somewhat playing with the flower in his hands. The fox merely looked behind him and say the hand, with an eye brow raised, “Ne..?” Then he looked at Ran, then in the direction they were headed and smiled. They were going home. Kaoru’s lips curled into a light smile.

Yubikiri was eager to stray as far from the patch of flowers as quickly as possible, but tried to stave off his frightened actions enough to act normal. However, this was difficult to accomplish with such quick footsteps and easy to spot, even through his smiling facade. To cover up his actions, Yu started off with a couple of eager questions, "So, what's this cottage like? What's the landowner like? How is your lab set up? I'd like to know more about you two!" His questions may have seemed prying, but he was really trying to hide his nervousness.

Ran side looked at Yu, still somewhat watching the path before them. He noticed that the cat was acting oddly, he could sense this. But he didn't feel like getting into it and just answered his questions with a smirk. "The cottage... is cozy. Haha, it is a very nice and relaxed place." He nodded his head. "Oh.. speaking of the landowner... she isn't going to be around tonight. And if you see her... stay away from her until morning..." The tone in his voice changed, it was a warning for the cat's own good. "That is if you plan to stay 'til the morn..." He trailed off, finally turning his head straight ahead, but still answering the questions that rolled off Yu's tongue like water. "But easy on the questions, Yu. Wouldn't you rather experience it first hand when you get there..?" His head turned to the side to look at him, his mouth in the shape of an 'o'.

Yubikiri's ears perked in interest as Ran began to explain things to him, intent on getting his mind off of his problems. They were far enough away from the patch of flowers for them not to pose any threat to him, but the flowers that the two of his comrades carried he was still trying to stave off the effects of. At the mention of the landowner, Yu's eyebrows rose in interest. Was she in a bad mood when coing back from her second job so often? Was her job really that bad? Or maybe she was just worn out? Either way his thoughts went, he decided not to press into the matter and just to take his master's words to heart. "Okay, I'll be sure to stick by you, then," he replied with a sharp nod, positive it wouldn't be in his best interest to stray.
At the thought of that, Yu's attention turned to Kaoru. What about him? Was he to stay clear of the only person he seemed to be attached to? What was he going to do when they got home, lock himself in his room? Not liking these thoughts, his hand gripped lightly around the fox's forearm and sqwueezed it once in support. "And how about you? Will you stay and show me around as well? I'd like it if you could," he said with a grin, his voice warming, almost as if he were purring with the words.
He turned his attention back to Ran as he continued, and nodded eagerly. "You're right, it would be better to experience it more than hear about it. Though... I was kinda just trying to make conversation," he said with an awkward laugh. His eyes wandered to the batch of Oomagatoki flowers in his master's arms, a slight scowl appearing on his face. However, he turned away abruptly, trying to hide his reaction from the other two.

Ran turned to look at Yu, at first a very serious expression. But it soon lightened. “Good… good…” He trailed off, remembering those moments when his master came home. A shiver went down his spine and he shook very slightly.
The fox look down at his arm as the cat grabbed it. He only just slightly jumped, but it wasn’t much, nor was it very noticeable. Then he followed the arm up to Yu’s eyes, blushing slightly in nervousness. “Uhh…” He began quietly. “S-sure… if you want me to…” He then returned the smile, in more of a reflex, but it was a smile nonetheless.
The unicorn smirked and let out a small laugh. “Yeah, that is okay. But we are almost there. You just wait. It doesn’t look like much from the outside, but most of it is underground.” He nodded to confirm his statement.

Yubikiri gasped slightly, then let out with a happy laugh as Kaoru smiled back at him. "Aha! There we go! You look much better when you smile like that!" he exclaimed, sticking out his tongue once to tease, "I didn't know you could!" He squeezed the fox's arm once again to tell him he didn't really mean the last part before releasing his grip to put the hand on Kaoru's head, smiling widely.
His head perked back up to the road that lay ahead, eagerness not lessening as they came closer to the cottage. Almost there, huh? This'll be interesting to see! At Ran's further explaination, Yubikiri found himself looking to the unicorn in awe. "Underground!? That's so weird! Is that how she gets out of paying more for the mortgage?" he asked with a snicker, but still in utter amazement. He couldn't wait until they arrived! It'd be very interesting to see.

Kaoru blushed a deeper red with Yubikiri’s reply to him smiling. Luckily it was dark out, maybe he couldn’t see it? He looked away, hoping Yu didn’t see. But then he smirked a bit, knowing he was joking. “Of course I can smile… everyone can…” He let out a very faint chuckle, covering his mouth with a hand; the other holding the flower.
Ran smiled at the scene with Yubikiri and Kaoru. The fox was obviously starting to warm up to the cat. It was a start, clearly it wasn’t much, but it was something nonetheless. But there was a sick feeling in his stomach that when Kuro came home… Kaoru would go back to the way he was, not that there was much of a change. But he would cling to their master and forget this moment with Yu. Hopefully it wouldn’t go to that.
“Hahaha!! Yeah, you can say something like that… I guess. They don’t know about the underground part of the house, so, yes, we don’t have to pay for that part.”
