So, what's happened...
09, as I'm sure you know, was caught in the midst of a love triangle between himself, Yuzi_K, and The Wandering Mind (leader of the Believers). 06 and 11 condemned 09 for this, and threatened to hurt 02 if 09 didn't show himself. 09, fearing for 02's safety, complied and was shot down by 06 and 11 in a confrontation.
11 immediately regretted the action, and spontaneusly switched his position on pretty much everything, espousing the power of love over the power of hate. 06 declared him unfit to lead Zurg Nation as a result, and has since become the new leader.
Mother, meanwhile, had recovered 09's body from the crash. She sought help from Gambino, who supplied her with G-Virus with which to bring 09 back to life. The plan worked, and 09 was brought back as a zombie, with no memory of Yuzi or Wandering Mind and a drastically altered appearance. However, as of late his memories seem to have been returning, although his personality has been altered drastically.
Meanwhile, a
mysterious page appeared. Over the weeks, the passwords to each page were discovered; once the entire page had been unlocked, users were displayed with the image of what appears to be a stargate between Zurg and Gaia, and what looked like plans to kidnap Santa, who had been noticed by 08 and 07. (You were given the option of returning the blueprints to either the Gaian Resistance or the Zurg; Resistance would get you the Rebellion Face Mask, while Zurg would get you the Alien Antenna Horns.)
Not long afterwards, Cindy Donovinh conducted an interview with Gambino. Gambino revealed that he had severed his partnership with Mother, due to his discovery of her agenda. According to Gambino, Mother plans to 'protect the Gaians from their own ignorance' and 'create a new system for us where we can live in peace and be ruled by the superior Zurg'. He then warned the citizens of Gaia that something bad was afoot, and to be cautious in the coming months.
Meanwhile, the Zurg began to set in motion their plan to kidnap Santa Claus, or 'Plan 19'. However, one of the Zurg (unnamed as of now) stopped to abduct a cow while searching for Santa; Santa, seeing this, went to investigate and was caught in the beam. Suddenly, however, the ship wandered too close to a set of power lines, which short-circuited the beam, causing Santa and the cow to switch minds. The unnamed Zurg paniced and flew off, leaving the mind-swapped Santa and cow in the field.
A short while later, an interview was conducted with 02. 02 was concerned about Santa, as he believed him to be the only one who could turn 09 back to normal. As a result, 02 decided to dress himself as Santa and give gifts to the Gaians in order to help. After the interview was concluded, however, the cow Santa made a surprise appearance (with Rancher Bill translating). He expressed his unhappiness with the Zurg, and declared that he did not support 02's actions, no matter how heartfelt they were.
Now that the Christmas event has started, users have the option to choose between distributing gifts from the Cow Santa or 02. Giving five gifts from the Cow Santa will get you the Cowhide Santa Hat, and giving ten will get you the Long Bull Horns. Similarly, giving five gifts from 02 will get you the Lucky Star; giving ten will get you the Water Meat plushie.
...And I think that's everything.
EDIT: Oh, and 03 is apparently building a super-weapon for 09. Fun stuff.
