Off in the corridors of Shinji's subconscious, his common painful memories resurfaced. Piloting the Eva always reminded him of the misery that was his life, but as long as it was for good of mankind, he would serve...

If you're going to do it, do it now. If not, then leave.

You must've run away Shinji. You must confront your father, and you must confront yourself.

The low hum of the heart rate monitor was that only noise in the room. Normally, the damage to the pilot went no further than a surface contusion, but Shinji suffered much worse this time. Even so, the risk was there and he took it regardless...

A nurse on duty soon entered, took his vitals quickly, replaced the bandage on the IV insertion area and returned to the hospital ward desk. The entire section of the hospital within Nerv contained only a handful of workers and one wounded soldier. That's usually how it was though. The pilots were the only ones who were ever injured.

Why am I still in the cockpit? Why do I still have to do this when every part of me except my heart tells me not to do so?

That feeling of warmth that I get while in the Eva...I feel safe there, despite the fighting...why?

Maya started up the aproprate programs to begin the testing. She also linked the Magi up to the test, and was now only waiting for the go ahead from Ritsuko.
"Dr. Akagi, Sensei. The test are all ready and I have finished uplinking the Magi. I am now awaiting for your go-ahead. I was thinking of starting with Toji since he has done syncronization before." Maya spoke to Ritsuko.

(((I want to let you all know that I have decided to give up the Position of Maya Ibuki. It is just hard to RP an Angel and a character. I will still do posts for Maya until a replacement can be found, but I wont do it forever. So this is just a heads up.)))

Karasu leans back in her chair. She wonders if Ritsuko and Maya will need another technition for the sync test. If not, she could go to introduce herself to the Second Child. Or maybe see if the First Child was all right. Maybe Major Katsuragi would like the company, after all Karasu had just moved and didn't know anyone from this branch. She knew names of some of the officers and crew, and the pilots if she thought hard.

She leans farther back in her chair so she can look over the back and up at the MAGI behind her. She always wanted to work with such a wonderful computer. She smiles, then puts her chair upright before she falls out of it.

She is only four years older than the pilots, maybe Karasu and the Second Child could find something to do, to take Asuka's mind off of Shinji. But the young computer geek would have to either wait out her final hour on duty, or until Ritsuko said she wasn't needed anymore.

Karasu smiles, "Yes Mame (sp???)." She gets out of her chair and heads towards where the Children prepare for the test (which escapes me at the moment). "Suzahara..." she says quietly, "Tall, short hair, dark plugsuit, Fourth Child, Unit 03, right." She looks up on her way there to see Toji, and stops just short of walking into him.

"Suzahara, right?" she says, "I'm Yoru, but you can call me Karasu. I'm supposed to get you ready for the test."

She pulls a wrinkled map out of her pocket, "You'd figure being here two days that I could find the place."

Misato arrived in the NERV private hospital and found Shinji without too much trouble. It wasn't often that they got a new patient, after all, and Shinji had already been in here a few times...

He looked tired. It was the first thing that came to Misato's mind. His eyes were closed and Misato wasn't sure if he was sleeping as she came in. Piloting looked like it took a lot of the poor kids... Poor Shinji was under a lot of pressure almost all of the time

'And they're going to move him in with his father tomorrow. He might not be able to get out before then. Knowing SEELE, they'll just come pick up his stuff and move it right into Commander Ikari's place for him so he won't stop by himself.'

She found a chair in the room and sat down on it, looking down on Shinji's resting form. "Shinji-kun... you did a good job today. How are you feeling?" It seemed like a silly question, given that it was pretty clear he wasn't feeling fine, what with the hospitalization and all, but she wasn't just asking about his physical condition.

Upon finally entering the Hospital wing, Asuka looked down the long, white hallway for a good while. She'd never been here before, and she certainly did not want to start being a regular.
Hospitals never did sit will with her. In fact, she loathed them with a passion and yet, here she was.

'Well, he's probably the only idiot in here... ' She reasoned, breathing in deeply, then deciding to ask the only nurse woman at the reception desk.
Asuka woudlnt know which ward he was in since the extent of his inuries had not been mentioned to her.

Finding that he was in recovery, she shakily made her way down the corresponding hallway.

'You just want to see if you can get a drive home.. that's it. No other reason. Stop being so stupid.' The girl silently reminded herself, steeling her nerves as well as her emotions and stopping at his hospital room.

"Okay..." She breathed out, reaching her hand towards the door handle.

'Maybe I should knock? I wonder if Misato is even in there? What if she's not going home any time soon? Ugh, why am I even here? Goddamnit!Stop procrastinating!! Scheisse!"

Without a further thought, the girl grasped the handle tightly and slowly opened the door, almost making an effort to do so quietly.

Her mouth opened, along with the door, to ask Misato a hurried question so she could get herself the hell out of there.
However, she froze.

Hospital room. She hadn't been near one since...
'Why did I do this?! I didn't want to see this anymore!'

All of her words seemed to catch in her throat as Asuka's eyes just so happened to fall on what she presumed was the sleeping form of Shinji Ikari.

She barely noticed Misato sitting in the chair next to the bed. Even if a bright red flight jacket was hard to miss.
Mouth slightly agape and hand still gripping the door handle tightly, she stood silent.

Karasu studies the map a little more. "All right, the Command Center is here." Her face lights up as she figures out where they are going. She points to the coridor to the left.

"The Cage is that way," she says, "The testing center is on the other side."

"So, my Eva's already dere, den, right?" Toji started heading down the hallway towards the testing area.
