Shenzi snorted again, grinning in response to the compliment. "I think if someone had chopped off their foot, we'd probably hear it." She said dryly, laughing. "There's nothing wrong with two pretty people conversing!" Shenzi said, dramatically clapping her hands to her heart, with a look of mock-affronted shock on her face.

The horse-man snickered, agreeing that Marshall would definitely have made a racket if that were the case. Now, if he'd somehow knocked himself out, that'd be a different matter...
There's nothing wrong with two pretty people conversing!
Gaius blinked. Wait, him?
Redness spread all across his cheeks and across his face, down his sizeable kneck as well, his face looking somewhere between a deer in the headlights and a bashful guy.
"U-um uh um I-I should be going gotta get back to work now see you!" he stammered out in a rush, hunkering over the wheelbarrow as he made a hasty escape back to the safety of his work. Oh lordy, he'd made such a fool of himself!

Shenzi couldn't help but laugh as his face all but turned into a cherry. It was always fun setting a guy off balance, and Gaius was adorable in his awkwardness. Grinning to herself, she decided to let him retreat, instead hopping across the dirt and away from the construction site, back towards her duplex. At the edge of the grounds, though, she turned around, giving him a cheerful wave before walking away, a broad smile on her lips, her mood greatly elevated.

"Wheeeennn the mooooonnn hits your eyes like a big pizza pie, thats a AMORE~!" Marshall finally started singing, off key and out of tune, as he watched Gaius and Shenzi "flirt". He continued digging though, not even letting sweet entertainment distract him from his 'highly important duty'.

Gaius shot Marshall a dark look as he hurried over, knowing full well what the guy was squawking about. "Shut up, you," he muttered, face still bright red.
"Just keep at it for a bit longer," he said as he parked the wheelbarrow, wiping off his hands on his dirt-stained jeans. "I need to go over to the lake and have a word with Billy..." With that, he turned tail again, walking east towards the nearby body of water.

Marshall snickered, then gave him a little one handed salute as he continued digging, humming the infamous song under his breath.
"Some thing some thing amore~! Phones that ring blah blah bing doo doo ding..."

(Continued from http://www.gaiaonline.com/guilds/viewtopic.php?t=7049031 ) It was some time before Gaius returned, this time pushing along a wheelchair in front of him bearing the infamous octopus. He looked a bit worried, but continued along steadily. As they made their way out of the treeline, the piles of lumber came into view, as well as the little stakes hammered into the ground marking the edges of the project. And, over to one side, worked the penguin-boy, diligantly digging up the area where the stage would be. "See? Things are under way!" Gaius said cheerily, brightening at the sight.

"Y'really... are doin' it!" At the sight of the construction, Billy gawked. His chin-tentacles quivering and his fin trembling as he struggled to unscrew the cap of a wayerbottle. "How long y'been... at it? How long will... it take? How many... are workin' fer ye?"

"I had to drag the equipment out yesterday, and we started building this morning," Gaius explained, pushing Billy through the outer edge so he could get a better view of everything. It really wasn't much yet, but it was progress!
"I have, uh, Marshall going right now, and a couple other should show up too... Hopefully more once things get going! I'm hoping to have a good deal of it done in a couple weeks?"

Marshall sighed as he continued digging where Gaius told him to. This was, undoubtedly, really, really boring manual labor. But at least he was helpful. Or felt helpful, which in most cases was better than actually being helpful.
"Huh...A stage...Hee hee..." Marshall chuckled, liking the idea more and more as he thought about it.

Billy was thrilled by what he saw, even if it wasn't very much. He'd never really been in any sort of position of power befor, and the idea that him telling OTHER people to do anything and actually succeeding had not been one of his first expectations. "Wha's tha' ....there? Is tha' .....gonna' be th'hidden ....room- I mean... y'know... th'prop room...?" He gestured with a tentacle towards the digging penguin-man.

Curiousity drew Lucas toward the construction site, and he stood a few yards away while he looked things over. He wanted to go in for a closer investigation since his eyes had trouble making things out from that distance, but he stayed where he was. Instead he just circled, trying to get a feel for whatever it was that was being built.

Gaius was in the midst of guiding Billy around, otherwise he would have noticed Lucas... possibly. Gaius wasn't known for being all that perceptive, after all.
"Yeah!" he assured the octopus, "Marshall's working on the prop area right now. Once it's deep enough, we'll get some planks in for the floor. I'm still needing some more hands for the harder work, though..." He frowned, rubbing his chin. "Oz should be here eventually... and hopefully some others..."

Looking to his left, the dhole spotted two figures. At least he thought it was two figures. What was short and purple? He did hear voices, though. Stepping closer, but not approaching directly, Lucas tried to make out who it was and if it was anyone he knew. They might be able to tell him what was going on.

While rubbing his chin, Gaius looked back at the village as he wondered where his extra help was, and, as if on call, there approached an orange-furred guy. The horse-man's face brightened, ears perking up. He hurried over with long strides, leaving the octopus to manage his own wheelchair for the time being.
"Hey there!" he called, raising a hand as he got nearer the guy, still not recognizing him as the bespectacled boy he'd met on the beach months ago. They'd both changed since then... "Are you here to help with the building project? Did you see the bulletin ad?" he asked excitedly, stopping a short ways from Lucas.
