A glance towards the feathered and fur couple bought a twang of jealously to her heart, but forced herself to brush it away like an annoying bug and waited the response of the other two, eyes taking immense interest in her shoes.

The sheet person decided to grace them with his presence, she was too absorbed to try and detur the conversation away from her own changes to notice his previous de-cloaking. She saw him now however, especially his twitchy whiskers. She wasn't sure what he just said at first, except the comment about the sea.

"Yeah, it's... pretty today." She replied with a shy smile, her bright blue eyes stared at his whiskers before quickly looking away and touching her upper lip briefly. Wonder if they feel itchy she mused. She wanted to ask him why he was under that sheet for. Hopefully someone else would ask him first.

Noah almost let a smile slip. Ah, so they did notice him. Good. Or was it? They didn't seem to be staring at him and they seemed to be pleasent...for now, anyways. He came a little closer, standing nearer to the group.

Ah, that one girl...the girl wih the markings above her eyes...she was staring at him. Wat was it? His face? He knew it wasn't totally human anymore...ah, the whiskers! Marked-girl was staring at his whiskers. he had tried to pull one outearlier, but the pain had been intense. Bad enough to keep him from pulling out anymore anytime soon, anyways.

He pulled the edges of his cloak in tighter, despite the lack of a breeze. His tail twitched back and forth under the cloak, the tail-tip snaking out for a brief moment. Nervous. He was nervous. He wasn't used to talking to girls. They always made him nervous. He looked down at his feet uneasy, trying to burrow them somewhat into the sand. He hated his feet now that they changed. He bit at his lip with his bucked teeth, in habitually reached back for his swaying tail. He picked at the fur again, forgetting where he was and who he was around. Grooming. It made him feel better. The movement of his hands seemed to placate him ever-so-slightly.

Ah, say something! Anything!

"Mein name is Noah. Vhat is it they call you two ladies?" he said, his German accent hitting the 'w' sound of 'what'.

All the years living in America had dulled his accent, but the damn w's always seemed to come out as v's, ever since he was a kid. It was something he had never been able to eradicate from his speech. How bothersome.

Nick remained silent, just enjoying the moment. He was starting to feel a pleasant warmth from Colette’s body. He cooed again as her tail curled up by his legs.

“So..y-you wanna watch the sun set t-together?” He turned his head 90 degrees to look at the others, none of them seemed to be paying much attention to them.

Colette nodded and then yawned. She had gotten up much early then she normally did for once and wasn't sure if her insomnia was going to keep her up for most of the night. "..Are you cold?.. You keep stuttering," Colette said as her tail gently wrapped around his knees.

“No, no I’m fine” He stuttering now completely gone and he could barely keep himself from smiling broadly.

“My feathers keep me quite warm actually” he said quietly, stroking Colette’s hair and back again. “C’mon, lets sit down” he let go of her, and knelt down in the sand, just out of reach form the waves., watching the slowly darkening sky. He patted the ground next to him, gesturing for Colette to sit next to him.

Once this person, Noah, got closer, Autumn was finally able to make out what little signs of change was visible. She caught a glimpse of what looked like a tail, & his feet were certainly different. They appeared longer than usual, giving a giveaway that he had experienced some change. How much, Autumn wasn't sure. The cloak was covering up nearly everything.

"What's with the cape, if you don't mind me asking," she said, with a tone of curiosity in her voice.

"I'm Autumn," she said, replying to the question he asked. Autumn never was very good at introductions, be it formal or casual. Her toes wiggled in the muddy sand, as the tide was on its way out & no longer washed her toes.

She brushed a purple streak of hair out of her face that had been placed there by a breeze, which made her wonder what this Noah thought of weird hair colors. She had gotten quite used to a lot of looks from all sorts of people, & a whole variety of comments, from some flattering comments.. To some.. Less than nice comments, particularly from her parents & other older people.

The awkward silence ensured. Georgia couldn't decided where to rest her eyes, so glanced off of each person and briefly to the couple further away before resting back on the lit sea and the setting orange sun. From the corner of her eye, she saw movement under the whiskered man's stained-white cover. He has a tail? She wondered.

Time passed before the figiting man introduced himself, his accent obviously German. Georgia only knew a tiny bit of the lanuage learned from school, a few words really. "I'm Georgia." She said, trying to remember everyone's name. Finally Autumn asked the question that Georgia had been biting her tongue on, she sighed inwardly in relief. She never liked asking people why they were doing something, it made her feel awkward and nosey.

Noah nodded plesantly.

"Autumn...Geogia...such nice names." he said a smile slipping lose, exposing his elongated teeth. He quickly wiped the smile away, his lips catching on the brackets still stuck to his teeth.

Her hair was of minor interest, though. It was unique, but as far as this island went, abnormal haircolor- this hair appear to be dyed, as this girl was Unchanged- wasn't so bad. Interesting, but not bad.

As she inquired about the cape, however, he winced. He gripped his tail tightly. He suddenly was aware that his tail was out in plain view. His tail. He dropped it suddenly as if it were on fire and let it swing back down behind him. He still busied his hands, but this time he occupied himself by lightly scratching the back of his left hand with the nails of his right.

"I...it's..." he began to stammer. It was his security. It kept the sun out of his eyes, which had gone from a vibrant blue to a sensitive pale gray as the pigment faded. It would only be a matter of time before all the color was gone and ll he was left with was red. But the blanket...It kept the changes hidden. They couldn't see them. oh god, he couldn't let them see! But they wouldn't understand! They wouldn't! He pulled the edges in again, feeling a little better encapsulated in the sheet-cloak.

"I just...
it doesn't let them see." he finally said hoarsely. Honesty was the best policy, right?

Colette nodded and then put on a small smile. "Ok," she said and then sat down next to him. Colette sighed as she looked over at the others, they weren't that far away. She yawned and then looked back over at Nick with a smile on her face still. "That's good that they keep you warm then," she said, reffering to the feathers.

Autumn looked back at the others, noticing that it was indeed feathers the man had. White feathers at that. "Wow, birds, too? What else do they have? Dinosaurs?" she said to herself.

She glanced over at Georgia as she introduced herself. Autumn wondered if she had any idea what she was turning into. Whatever it was, she doubted it would be anything... Pretty.

Her eyes finally made their way back to Noah as he made a comment about the women's names. She simly replied with a nod as he smiled, catching a very quick glimse of abnormal teeth. She couldn't exactly make out what sort of teeth they were; all Autumn knew was that they were longer than regular teeth. It got her mind wondering what sort of animals people became on the Island, & again made her worry about what animal the labs had chosen for her.

After his feeble answer, she shrugged her shoulders. "If anything, I'm the oddball here. I haven't gotten a tail or feathers yet," she said. Autumn looked down at her hands once again, looking at them, wondering how long before they changed.

"I'm the one that gets the looks now, only because I haven't sprouted anything unusual. Not yet anyways."

Georgia blushed at the furry man's compliment, looking down at her feet and noticing his rather large ones. She's always felt embarressed when people gave her compliments, like she didn't truely deserve them.

"Thank you." He seemed sensitive to the question the purpled haired women posed, flustering for a response and it dawned on her that he was hiding his changes from everyone. Her hands covered her elbows and lower arms tightly suddenly aware of her own disfigurements. Mild as they were, they still creeped her out. The skin was hard and had no feeling except some pressure, but the few hairs that sproated were sensitive to touch, including the wind's. It was unnerving to feel the air move around her faintly.

"Why? We will all change... eventually." A flash of dull metal could be seen on her teeth as she spoke. Georgia gave a stiff shrug, a lock of auban hair fell loosly in front of her eyes and she tucked it back behinde her ears.

She frowned at Autumn's comment, how was being normal and unchanged odd? She'd give anything to not change, to not turn into some freakish monster or some overgrown rodent. To be back to what she looked like, with no hard skin growing all over her. But... the looks, she was right, Georgia herself was cast several looks from the islanders. She stood out like a sore thumb. A regular human, the tutting and shaking of heads for the poor normal human who haven't got a clue about their fate. It felt almost a relief to change, no more of those types of looks - sometimes jealousy driven- she was one of them now. A damned soul.

Georgia nodded. "I know what you mean."

Nick leant against Colette as he stare at the horizon, putting own arm around her back, resting it on her tail. He wasn’t paying any attention to the others, he was much to busy thinking about Colette and wanting to spent time with her. He hadn’t truly felt this happy in a long time, after all, he finally had a girlfriend.

He sharp new hearing over heard one other people, someone mentioned feathers, she could have only meant him.

“Is someone talking about me?” He shouted over to them, completely ignoring if he was butting into their conversation

Noah picked at the bandages wrapped around his right handpaw now- he had stopped scritching the back of his left hand because it had gotten all red and puffy. Very unpleasent.

He looked up at Georgia shyly as she spoke, curious as to the flash of metal he saw. Did she have braces too? If she did, that fact didn't make him feel any better about his own brackets...he hated them because he considered them to be a thing for children...and to see a young girl with them only made things worse, reminded him that he was in braces at 26.

Either way, he smiled politely at her thanks (careful not to show any teeth) and nodded in acknowledgement.

His smile evaporated at Autumn's words though, and then Gerogia's commentary, wrinkling his nose. His whiskers gave another emphatic twitch as well. How could the Unchanged girl be regretful of being human? He would trade anything to not be turning into an animal. He missed his humanity and, incidentally, his sanity as well. People might have stared at him when he was human, sure, but they stared at him now too. It was lose-lose, but at least as a human he was...well, human.

His ears shifted around under the hood again, and he squirmed slightly at the sound of yelling from across the beach. He ignored it for the most part, though. It was coming from feather-boy. Noah didn't like feather boy too much.

"Never regret your humanity. Never feel rediculous about it." he murmured, almost a little harshly, his comment directed to both of the girls.

He couldn't help but feel a little irritated at the islanders that took their lack of animal features and instincts for granted. It was interesting, yes, to be opened to a new world, but entirely unpleasent in the German's mind. Everything changed- diet, habits, the way you thought and felt...it was a drastic upheaval...not one Noah fancied.

"You should enjoy it, Autumn dear, while you are still Unchanged..." he concluded, almost sadly.

Colette yawned again and frowned as Nick yelled. She sighed and then found that she now had something new pop up, literally. When Colette sighed, this caused certain muscles in her face to relax and her four inch long wiskers unfolded from the sides of her face. "Ohh. That's new," she said as she began to make them fan out and then fold back on her own. "That explains why my face was itchy."

Autumn's head jerked up as Noah spoke to her.

"Regret my humanity? You think that I like the idea of turning into who-knows-what?"

She sighed before continuing. "I just said that I felt like the strange one, because now I'm the one people are looking at, because I haven't changed." She began drawing spirals in the sand as she spoke.

"I'm not too happy with the thoughts that I might not even have hands anymore. Hell, I'm actually kind of scared. The fact that I don't even know yet what I'll turn into doesn't help."

Autumn's voice had picked up a slight tone of irritation. Why would she think nothing of what was going to happen? She was anything but ready, or willing, to give up her humanity.

"So don't assume I'm just all, 'Oh, I'm going to change. Okay, cool.'" She shook her head, realizing that her words were getting jumbled & her train of thought was going off-course. Damn did she hate when that happened.

"I just.. I don't know.." Picking up a fistful of sand, she threw it towards the water, watching as it just fell to the ground.
