Asriel turned to Taka as he heard the word. "Brother?" he said slowly. A warm fuzzy feeling crept down his spine. He had always wanted a brother. It was just something he had wanted. To be able to talk to, laugh with, fly with. To teach and learn from. Asriel's eyes watered. He was so happy, so unimaginably happy. A broad smile spread across Asriel's face.
The large gryphon stopped nuzzling, turning to look at the two reunited brothers. She thrummed in her throat, swishing her tail. Rain grinned. "I'm so happy those two are reunited. Asriel always needed somone to talk to-" she started, relizing Kaju was asleep. Sighing, Rain turned back to the female. "Well, I think you need a name," she said. The gryphon bobbed her head. "Mmkay....let me think....Ummm...Wren?" asked Rain. The ryphon shook her head, hissing under her breath. "Suki? Lily? Celia?" She turned down all the names. Rain dug into her thoughts, trying to conjure up a name that would fit. Memories filled her mind. Playing in the chicken coop, scaring the birds. A dog, black with a white diamond on its forhead. Rain smiled as she remembered her childhood pet. Named after the goddess of the sky, Aleraya. "I know what to call you," said Rain finally, "Aleraya." The female made a deep purr sound, closing her eyes and rearing back on her hind legs, raking the air with her talons. "Aleraya. What a fitting name, my little goddess," murmured Rain.

Taka's eyes began to water, he had a brother. Finally! Someone who knew his past and someone he can be with! "I have... a brother!" He said excitedly and his tail started to swish back and forth as he hugged Asriel with his claws. He was very happy, he couldn't be happier.
Kaju shifted in her sleep, she was dreaming. About her past. She used to own a dog, it was black with a white diamond. The dogs name was also Taka. She furrowed her brows as she continued to dream. The dog was in a coop, a chicken coop, it was of course barking at the chickens like a normal dog does....
"Taka! Taka, stop barking!" She yelled, trying to get the dog to stop barking at those blasted birds. She growled and grabbed his collar and started to drag the dog away but it strained and continued to bark. She was a child, her hair was blue and shoulder length. Her red eyes were big and happy and she was quite tall. She turned her head to see another girl coming over, she had slightly curly blue hair that was a bit longer then her shoulder and big green eyes. "Oh! Hey! Can you help me stop Taka?" She asked the girl as she tried to muzzle its nose. It didn't work. The girl just laughed, "Of course!" In her hands she had a bottle of water, she sprayed it on the dog and the dog started to shake and growled and gave up the chicken barking. "Silly Taka!" Kaju said as the girl and her broke into laughter. Soon they walked away laughing and telling jokes.
The dream went black.~ (I hope its fine that the dog was Kaju's. XD)

Tis fine Aleraya thrummed in her throat, nuzzling Rain on the cheek. Rain grinned, running her hang through Aleraya's thick feathers. Aleraya purred, nudging Rain before curling up on the groun again, right next to Rain's pillow. Rain slipped into her sleepingbag, closing her eyes. Rain and Aleraya quickly fell asleep.
Rain giggled at the dog. Her curly hair swirled around her in a cool breeze, fluttering up in the air. Rain sighed, twisting it into a thick braid with her quick and delicate fingers before tossing it over her shoulder. "I'm Rain," she murmured to the new girl, grinning broadly as she reached out a hand to shake. The girl smiled, shaking it with a firm grip. "Nice to meet you. I'm Kaju."
A vortex of colors obliterated the memory, sweeping Rain through the recesses of her mind. All the while the girls words boomed through her head.
...Kaju....
...Kaju...
...Kaju....

Taka yawned and soon put his head down to sleep. He closed his eyes and gave a deep sigh before entering his little dream world.
Kaju giggled. "Rain! What a pretty name! It isn't very creative is it though?" She murmured and shook her hand. "Nice to meet you. I'm Kaju." She said and started to skip forward. She picked up Taka and grinned and swirled around to face Rain. "I think we will make great friends!" She said and started to skip forward with Taka in her arm.
Kaju woke up with a start. "H---huh..." She said and looked at Rain's sleeping form. "..." She stared at her. Rain... That name... That hair.... Those eyes. I KNEW I KNEW! "I KNOW YOU!" She shouted loudly and stupidly. Taka woke with a start but soon was back to sleep again. Kaju's eyes were wide as all the memories started to click into her brain. This is Rain! RAIN! Her best friend when she was a child! Before she got kicked out of her house! A little thought flickered across her mind:
Kaju sobbed, she had a small black bag in her hand and a photograph of Taka. Taka had passed away, it was 5 years later. She is now 13. Rain was around the same age, they were both sobbing. Kaju's parents were staring evilly at Kaju as Kaju stepped on the grass outside her house. Her parents slammed the doors shut. In Rains hand was a hat. "Oh Rain! My parents have kicked me out of my home. They hate me, they don't want me. They said." She said and sobbed. Rain put her hands on Kaju's shoulders. "They don't hate you! They are just having a little time in there life..." She mumbled. Kaju watched as the tears flowed out of Rains eyes. She hugged Rain tightly. "Oh my friend! My best friend! I will miss you so much!" Kaju stated as she hugged away. "But why Kaju? Why must you go alone? Why cant I come with you?" Rain said back sadly. "I must go alone... I am sorry. One day we will meet." Kaju said happily as she pulled away from her hug. She stepped back and Rain held the hat out in her hands. "Kaju, for you. I hope you will always remember me." She said and gave Kaju the hat.
Kaju had never taken off that hat ever since.
It had been 3 years since that time happened, and Kaju was now 16 years old.

A couple months had past. Rain sat on her porch, tears streaming down her face. She stared at a a small framed picture of her and Kaju, grinning with an arm around eachother's shoulders. "WHY DID SHE HAVE TO GO?!" Rain screamed into the the air, standing up as she threw the one memory she had of Kaju hard against the wall. The glass shattered, sending shards flying across the room. "Rain? Rain? Sweetie, where are you?" came her mother's voice. She appeared in the door, her face worried as she saw the glass. "Honey! Are you alri-" "NO! NO I'M NOT!" shouted Rain, sprinting away towards the road. The ran like her life depended on it, down that dirt track, up and over hills and finally into the town. She tushed right up to teh door step of the house she knew so well, banging her fist against the door. Tears were still leaking from her eyes when Kaju's dad answered the door. "You! YOU RUINED MY LIFE!" screamed Rain, jabbing her finger at him. "YOU RUINED ME!" Her voice was choked with sobs, and she had to bite her lip to keep from exploding into a fit of crying. "You stupid girl, get off my porch," came the man's gruff voice. "NO!" yelled Rain, planting her feet. "You...you....ruined me....Kaju...." Rain fell against a support beam, crying into her sleeve. "No, you stupid whelp. You ruined your own god-damn life. You wanna know why we made her leave? Why we forced her out? 'Cause you changed her! You blackened her once perfect little heart! She used to be our little angel, before you came into her life! So get your a** off my porch!" yelled the man, kicking Rain hard in the shin before slamming the door on her. Rain broke down in sobs as she lay on Kaju's porch, in the spot she and Kaju had sat in so many times before.

Kaju dashed and ran down that dirt road Rain and her had gone down so many times to go to the little supermarket to get ice cream. The storekeepers name was Ben, he knew Kaju and Rain very well. They could get into a little conversation every time. It was so much fun! Kaju kept running, tears streaming down her face. Soon she was in front of the supermarket, she looked inside the glass to see Ben, he was holding a bag and his uniform. He handed it to the manager and stepped out. He looked very sad as he looked at Kaju then glanced away and he started to walk away. "Ben..." She said and sobbed, he must have gotten fired. She sat down on the bench Rain and her always sat on, it brought back such great memories, memories that she must forget to keep moving on. "Rain, I am so sorry." She said very sadly.
Kaju looked at Rains sleeping form. She put her hands on her head and clenched her teeth as the memories flowed back into her head. "Rain, I am so sorry, I am so sorry I left you to fend for yourself. I promised to always be there for you..." She said as she repeated the words she was thinking out loud. Tears rolled down her red cheeks and hit the floor. She braced herself as more and more memories continued to flowed.
Rain held Kaju's paint as Kaju bent over to tie her shoes. Without warning Rain put the paint onto Kaju's head, making her hair bright pink and green. "RAIN!" Kaju shouted and took a paintbrush with purple paint and started to brush it over Rains face. Rain just laughed and took another paintbrush with green paint and started to do the same to Kaju. Afterwards Kaju and Rain sat on Kaju's porch and laughed and laughed, Kaju was a big green child and Rain was a purple kid. It was so much fun!

Rain fingered a chip of green paint that had lasted all those years on Kaju's porch. Tears rolled down her face, but she didn't move. "Kaju," she whispered into the air. It was dark when she finally got up. She trudged down the road, keeping her eyes on her shoes. "Rain!" Rain whirled around, but no one was there. Her mind was playing tricks on her. Rain shuffled on, a tear dripping down her cheek. She got home past midnight. Her parents stood in the doorway as she came up, arms crossed. "Where have you been, young lady?" demanded her mother, tapping her foot crossly. "None of your busniess," muttered Rain, making to push past her mother to get inside. "None of my busniess? Really? Hey, guess what? I don't give a damn if its not my busniess!" yelled her mother. Rain's heart stopped. Her mother never swore. Never. "RAIN! LISTEN TO ME!" yelled her mother. A whir of hand, a loud slap. Blood rain down Rain's cheek. She didn't move. "You don't apreciate anything that I've done for you! All you care about is that god damn friend of yours! SHE'S GONE! Got it? GONE! And I never want to hear her name spoken in my house again? You hear? DO YOU HEAR ME?" screamed Rain's mother, grabbing Rain's hair and wrenching it back. "Yes! Yes!" sobbed Rain, burying her face in her hands as she ran into her room. Rain dove under her bed sheets, crying into her pillow. She quieted when she heard her parents talking in the hall. "Yes I know he's an expert. But if he can really do it, our problems solved," came her mother's voice. "Ya, but he's expensive to get into...." came her father's. "Anything's better than having her mope around like this...We'll bring her in tomarrow to see him." "Ok then. I'll take off from work tomarrow-" "No, I'll do it. It's fine." "But you don't know where his office is? Here, I'll write it down- Arnold J. Tucker - the 5 house down in town- specialist in memory deletion."

Kaju shuffled her feet as she walked. Inside a trash can was a toy, a doll with its head wripped off. Kaju chuckled. It was a doll that Rain and Kaju bought and played "tug of war" on it for fun to see what would happen. They wripped off the dolls hair to remember the moment, she still has hers, but it is at her house... She continued to walk. Her heart ached, she felt like there was a hole there that could never be filled up. "..." She was getting depressed, she had no money so she had to find stuff on the floor and try to sell it. She is very thin and still is, she dresses in the same clothes everyday...

Rain followed her mother into the office, looking at her feet. She was scared. She didn't want to forget Kaju. She didn't want to let go of Kaju, to let the memories slip through her fingers never to be recovered. Arnold J. Tucker was a thin man, dressed in a white lab coat. "Hello Rain. Its nice to meet you, I'm Dr. Tucker," he said, a fake smile on his face as he reached his hand out for Rain to shake. Rain didn't make a move to shake it, so he withdrawed. "Well Rain, I'm a special kind of therapist. And I'm going to help you with your problem. Just sit there," said Arnold, pointing to a chair infront of his desk. Rain sat down slowly, gazing at her shoes intently. Arnold nodded for Rain's mother to leave, turning back to Rain. Rain's heart dropped as she heard a lock click in the door. "Atura," murmured the docter. "Wha-WHAT?" Rain felt her limbs go cold, unmoving. She couldn't move her legs or arms, she was stuck. "Rain, I know what's going on. Its ok. Sometimes its best to forget," murmured the doctor, standing up and putting his entire hand over Rain's forhead. Tears were streaming down Rain's face. "No! I don't want to forget! Please! No! KAJU!" sobbed Rain. There was a blinding flash, and Rain's body went limp.

Kaju looked sadly at Rain. She is having a nightmare.... Should I wake her? Kaju thought slowly...
Kaju drummed her hands on her pants as she watched the wealthy people walk by, none of them put money into her OMFG hat. Kaju just sat and sighed away. Out of know-where a rock was thrown right at her head. "OWW!" She said, and without warning she looked around. "Where am I?" Luckily a friend was next to her and told her her name and stuff, but she had completely forgotten about Rain. Cheezy huh? Its true though.

Rain woke up to have two gryphons nudging her. "Guys...go away..." she mumbled, pushing them away with a feeble push. Aleraya nudged her harder, and Asriel chirped loudly. Rain yawned loudly, sitting up. She could feel the memories slipping through her fingers again. "No...I don't want to forget again...not again...." she murmured, closing her eyes and thinking hard about what her dream had uncovered. But the memores drained all the faster. Rain's heart beat faster as she fainted, falling back against Aleraya. Aleraya gave a fearful squwack and Asriel gave a little groan. His mistress was having a rough go. He could sense a strong charm hanging over her, like a thick aura.

Kaju sighed as she rubbed her heavy eyes. "Rain..." She said quietly. Once she woke up, she watched Rain look like she was in trouble then she fainted. "OH! ARE YOU OKAY" SHe shouted nervously as she came over to Rains side and sat her up. "Rain? Rain?" She said as she shook the girl gently.
Taka opened his eyes and shifted so he was on his stomach. He got up and nudged the two Gryphons then Rain and Kaju. He sqaked unhappily. He was getting much better, but he had singed fur, it was pure black and his feet were burned. But other then that he was fine. "..."

"Well doctor, it seems that your trick didn' quite do its job..." "Excuse me? What has gone wrong, exactly?" "Before you erased Kaju from her memories, she was lively. She certainly wasn't happy, but at least she wasn't....what she is now...." Rain's mother trailed off, looking nervously down at her hands. "Go on," said Docter Tucker, scribbling something quickly on his pad of paper. "Its like she's dead. Her eyes are always dull, and she doesn't aknowledge that anyones around her. She's lifeless, unemotionaly. Its not normal, I want my little girl back!" A small tear fell down the woman's cheek. Lifeless. Dead. Dull. All things she felt as Rain slumped up agains her bed. She felt small. Her fragile mind had been ripped in half. More than just the memories of Kaju had been erased. Much more. That was when she had run away. That was when she had found Asriel. That was how the slow healing had begun. That was how she had started to remember her best friend.

"Rain! Wake up! I'm scared! DON'T LEAVE ME AGAIN! I WONT LEAVE YOU PROMISE! Come back!" Kaju said sobbing, as tears rolled down her cheeks and dripped onto Rain's forehead. "Rain..." She said as she shook her once more. She was unconscious but she wanted to talk to her. She wanted to know her again, to be best friends like they once more.
Taka squawked and ruffled his feathers.

((My old account. Hacker broke into it. I'm on Four Season Demon Wolves. I just changed the username. ><)) Rain yawned loudly, in her sleep. She was no longer unconsious, only sleeping soundly. Aleraya curled her tail protectively around Rain's sleeping form, purring loudly. Asriel sighed in relief, laying his head on Rain's chest, swishing his tail back and forth.
