Her heart sank when she felt how unresponsive he was to her embrace, but X didn't say anything of it. Hearing his comment, she chuckled softly and moved so she was leaning against the door frame.
"Suit yourself, but it's supposed to rain tonight... and well, we know just how well you are with water... not to mention cold water."
X's tone was 'don't you dare argue with me' as she spoke to him, watching the SM grab the leather jacket off of the bike with little intrest. She knew he was lying, Slush had told her about how the cold messed up Isto's metal arm, while Moo had told her about what happens to it in water.

Remaining beside the bike, Isto shrugged slightly, slipping on the jacket. "I like the rain," he murmured, not entirely lying. Rain was just another of the things that effected him strangely. Something to do with the wires throughout his body, he thought. For the most part, he disliked being caught in the rain. It made him dazed, blank, emotionless.. unable to really think at all. Not to mention he couldn't feel his arm. But tonight he would gladly welcome these feelings. He didn't want to remember.
Of course, he had never been caught in a cold rain, only warm summer showers and the occasional big storm. Cold was something that Isto couldn't stand. It froze his arm so he could still feel it, but couldn't move it at all on its own. Just a dull throbbing pain. But he had his jacket, and that should keep it warm enough to avoid the cold. "I'll be fine."

"******** liar."
X's eyes flashed black for a moment, a light growl escaping her lips. She was tired of this boy's attitude, especially since he was being self destructive passively.
"You get in here or I'll make sure you NEVER see Slush again, even when he forgives you for whatever you've done--which he will do, forgive you that is. So if you want to see that sliver of hope that you have dissappear, fine... stay out here and I'll call Moo to pick you up."
Crossing her arms over her chest, her eyes glowing a dark obsidian now, X knew that had she threatened physical pain on him that he'd just gladly accept it, she knew that. ******** she had been suicidal herself before, so she knew all about that attitude.

His head snapped up, staring in disbelief over at X. She was threatening to keep him from seeing Slush if he didn't come inside, when Slush didn't want him there in the first place? Isto steeled himself to protest, but then sighed, shoulders slumping in defeat. He wouldn't be able to talk her out of it, he knew. And it wasn't likely to matter, because the next morning Slush would tell X what had happened and X would kick him out anyway.
Sighing, and glaring only faintly, he started back towards the door, muttering, "One night." He would be out before dawn. Before Slush could wake up and tell X. Before Slush could realize he was still there.

A smug look took over her lips as soon as she saw Isto's look of disbelief, the smugness quickly turning into a victorious smirk. Yep, she hadn't lost her touch yet. Little did he know she was going to have Devon watch over the room for her, and wake her if he even tried to leave before she could talk to Slush. As long as she gave Devon permission to terrorize Isto if he tried to leave, then X was golden.
"Come inside good sir."
X made sure to rub her victory in even more, doning a fake english accent and bowing him into the house before she just grabbed his wrist and tugged him back through the house, into one of the more secluded rooms.
"You know this is for the best Isto, you would've gotten sick outside... and as much as you want to hurt yourself right now, I can't let that happen."
Her voice was softer and after her last statement, she rolled up her sleeve on her left arm, exposing a deep and long scar that ran from her inner wrist to her inner elbow, tapping it softly with her fingertips.
"I know the tricks all too well myself..."

And now she was rubbing it in. Isto had half a mind to turn around right then, but he didn't. He knew X, and he knew she would follow through with her threat. Gritting his teeth to keep from scowling, he allowed her to lead him through the house to 'his' room. His face betrayed only a faint amount of surprise when she showed him the scar, but he said nothing.
Glancing silently around the room, he shrugged off his jacket and dropped it on the floor. He walked the final few feet to the bed and collapsed onto it, rolling over just long enough to pull back the covers before burying his face in the pillow. Without a word to X, he pulled the covers up to his shoulders, head turning sideways to stare blankly at the wall. Finally he sighed and removed his glasses, setting them on a bedside table, then curled up and closed his eyes, not asleep, not really trying to be.

Much like she had done Slush, X pulled the covers around Isto more snuggly and then leaned down to kiss his temple, running her hand over his mohawk in a motherly comfortinly way.
"There's a bathroom two doors down on the right, and if you feel something overly cold with a heartbeat, that's just Devon... Nathan's brother, he's a ghost."
With that simple explanation, X left the room, shutting it behind her before going off to find Devon and explain the situation to him, which he was very gleeful about. Floating to Isto's 'room' as quickly as he could, Devon smirked and rubbed his 'hands' together in evil planningnes. X just sighed and pulled her sleeve back down almost running smack dab into Nathan around the next corner, who immediately took her into an embrace once he heard a slight sob from her. Something was wrong, and everyone in the house could sense it.

Sometime during the night, Isto had managed to fall asleep, but despite the late hours he'd woken when he had hoped to. Or, at least, he thought he had. His room didn't have any windows (probably one of the reasons why X had chosen it), so he couldn't tell if the sun had risen yet or not. But it felt early, so Isto assumed it was.
Yawning, he tossed off the covers and sat up, swinging his legs off the bed and standing moments later. He bent and picked up his jacket, draping it over one arm, then stepped for the door, turning the knob and pushing it open.

'Play time' Devon thought to himself happily as he floated through Isto, sending massive cold through his body, and creating a low, erractic yet strong heartbeat in the back of his head. However if he looked around, he would see nothing, only feel a very scary presence and in a few moments, hear a strange voice in the back of his head.
What's wrong love? A bit cold hmm? I bet that metal arm is getting rather weightly about now...
Devon swirled around the older SM, creating a severely cold breeze that surrounded him before he settled back inside of Isto.
You're not supposed to be leaving... I suggest you stay..."

Isto hissed against the chill, shuddering slightly from the sheer cold of the ghost, arm falling limp at his side almost immediately. He didn't bother to look around, waiting impatiently for the voice that was bound to come if this was Devon. When it did, he scowled, beginning to reply. His voice faltered, teeth chattering slightly from the severe for some, which, though bad for some, was nearly unbearable to Isto. His arm was still, frozen, throbbing slightly, a dead weight pulling on his shoulder, which felt nearly as bad. The cold completely enveloped him, sinking in until he could feel each individual wire throughout his body, one by one throbbing slightly before simply ceasing to work, at least until the cold ended.
Scowling, Isto started down the hallway, walking as fast as the chill permitted. He didn't think Devon would just leave, and he was sure the ghost couldn't physically stop him, so maybe if he continued Devon would leave to find someone who could. Isto could get out while the cold was gone. "Gerroutofit, ghost!"

Slush was beginning to stir, he hadn't had much of a sleep either and was crying most of the night, and it showed. His eyes were red and puffy with dark cresents underneath each of them. Hair was sticking up every which way, and as he sat up, he clung to the stuffed animal in his arms.
Once he had woken up, Nathan, who had volunteered to watch Slush as X grabbed a bit of sleep herself, quietly made his way over to X's room, stirring her softly.
"He's up... and he doesn't look too good. I'm going down to make breakfast."
And with that, Nathan disappeared from the room and meandered his way to the kitchen to begin making pancakes, remember to make some for Isto as well.
X yawned and threw herself out of bed, quickly getting dressed and then throwing an extra long sleeved shirt on from the chill in the house before she made her way to Slush's room. Knocking on the door softly, she pushed it open and peered in before walking over to her son's bed and sitting down on a clear space.
"Feeling any better?"
A shrug was all the response Slush would give her, his eyes greyer than they usually were, a deep sadness looming in them as he looked up at his mother.
"Do you want to talk about it?"
Slush sighed and with the least amount of emotion he could muster, said the bottom line.
"Mauli's pregnant and Isto's the father... they were apparently drunk but... he waited till now to tell me..."
The vampire flinched, her son was too young to be dealing with s**t such as this. As she made a mental note to verbally assult Isto later, she moved over to Slush and hugged him close.
"Well... look at it this way, at least he told you, that shows that he still loves you... because he just bared his biggest fault and shame to you. That takes a lot of strength and love for a person..."
X trailed off for a moment to adjust her seating position before she continued speaking.
"Your father cheated on me when we were... together... but we couldn't stay away from eachother, and now we're happily married... Everyone makes mistakes, and alcohol just makes them worse."
Nodding, Slush clung to his mother, smiling as the smell of pancakes permiated the house. Nathan's pancakes, his favorite! Without much notice, Slush bounded out of X's embrace and downstairs to where Nathan was, grabbing a plate and digging in, only to find that he had absolutely no appetite.
Devon just laughed, staying with the boy. X told him that this would happen, that Isto was a strong boy with a temper on him at the moment.
X told me you'd do this, try an escape. She said for me to tell you that if you leave before she talks to you... that her earlier threat holds true.
An elated laugh filled Isto's head before Devon continued on, enjoying the fact that he actually was allowed to mess with someone in the house.
...And if I remember correctly... that means... no more Tastey Slushies for you...

Isto paused midstep, then reluctantly reversed direction, striding slowly back towards his room without a word to Devon. However, mentally he was cursing the ghost to the deepest circle of hell..and at the same time wondering why Devon wasn't already there. Damn ghost. Damn cold.
As he neared the room, his right leg gave out beneath him, and he stumbled sideways, hitting the wall and managing to hold himself standing. He shivered, glancing the short distance to his room and beginning to hobble towards it, right leg now as still as his arm. "Too cold...get out, I'm going back.."

Devon retreated, X had told him if he stays in his room not to bother Isto, so he stayed true to X's 'orders'. Maybe he'd come out to play again soon?
"Slush wait up!"
X cried after she watched the SM wriggled out of her embrace and tare downstairs, jumping up and following after him, frowing slightly as he just stared at the plate of pancakes.
"Not hungry I take it? Eat some anyways while I go find Devon."
Grumbling slightly, X grabbed a plate of pancakes 'for herself' and made her way over to the room where she had left Isto, feeling a hard cold as soon as she was about half way there.
He tried to escape, but I stopped him...
Devon positively beamed, and the tone of his voice was smug as well.
"Oh go visit Nathan and Slush, they're eating pancakes."
That got rid of him, and when X finally reached the room, she saw Isto stumbling back into the room. Helping him to the bed, she set the pancakes down between them and sighed softly.
"Sorry about that, I just knew you'd bolt, but I brought you pancakes."
X sounded hopeful, as if she had brought a peace treaty for him to sign.

Though grateful for her help, Isto did not immediately reply. Instead he set about massaging the life back into his right leg with his left hand, waiting for the wires to warm up and resume functioning. His right arm was a lost cause. It wouldn't begin working again for some time now, he could tell. Perhaps an hour or two, but no matter, it wasn't that important.
"I'm not hungry," he finally murmured, completely honest. As good as the pancakes smelled, Isto just wasn't hungry right now, nor did he think he would be later that day.

"Neither was Slush."
X absentmindedly took Isto's right hand and put it against the front of her body, shivering as she pressed his hand between her legs, not as a sexual motion, but just to help heat up his arm faster.
"Don't take this the wrong way, I'm just helping out... Devon can be a p***k sometimes."
After another silence, X finally spoke again.
"He told me Isto..."
Slush just picked at his pancake before he caught Nathan's stern look, it was then that he folded his pancake in half and took a rather large bite out of it, chewing it robotically before swallowing and flashing Nathan a weak smile. Nathan just nodded and went back to making pancakes.
Other things were on Slush's mind to have to deal with eating, like what X had said to him earlier, and the more he thought about it, the more he saw Isto's side of things. Though he wasn't happy about Isto keeping this from him, maybe he should try and patch things up with him? Sighing, he turned to Nathan, and bluntly asked him.
"I'm sure you know what happened, what should I do?"
Nathan looked up briefly from the pancakes and uttered a simple phrase before returning to his cooking.
"Follow your heart."
This wasn't going to be easy, Slush knew that, but he realized that he missed Isto already...and last night wasn't that long ago.
