MysticfawN Jaz, what exactly IS white castle stuffing? I didn't like my instant stuffing as much as I hoped, but it was dead easy to make and took like 2 minutes. they have the recipe on http://www.whitecaStle.comBasically you take white castle burgers (not cheeseburgers... and minus the pickles), tear them into bit sized pieces (meat and all) and add sage, oultry seasong, basil, chicken brother, and sauteed celery and onions and mix it all up. Put it in a pan and cook on 350 for around 20 minutes. VOILA! The surprising thing was it didn't taste like chopped up white castle burgers...it tasted like a yummy meat stuffing. Of course, to make as much as we did we used 20 burgers (recipe online calls for 10) which made a 9x13 pan full and cost us close to $20. So it's expensive, but next year we're going to supplement a lesser amount of WCS with some regular stuffing

A "White Castle" hamburger is a teeny little burger that can be eaten in four "dainty" bites... two bites if you are very hungry.
It would appear quite strange for someone to order just one, kinda like asking for one chicken nugget.
They are infamous to those who like to drink and hang at bars, 'cause White Castles restaurants are open 24 hours.
*now has cravings for WC chicken rings*

I was actually meaning to ask about this 'stuffing' everyone keeps talking about. How can you get instant stuffing?
The only stuffing I know of is the one we have every Christmas -
Sausage meat, herbs and onion all smooshed into the turkey then cooked at the same time as the turkey.
It means that all the juices mix together and you can make a FAB gravy, and it keeps the turkey moist. While the turkey flavour mixes wih the stuffing and vice versa.
Its the bit of the meal that ALWAYS gets finished first!! :p
:: Waits for a Christmas thread so she can detail her Christmas ::

*now has cravings for WC chicken rings* Well those restaurants arn't around here so it doesn't look like we can try that.
Lass, we have stuffing called "stove top stuffing" here that is instant. I'm not particularly crazy about it because to me it's really salty.

They are also found in the freezer section of the grocery store. Not sure how widely they are distributed, or how they taste after being frozen, but they may be available that way in your area. Anytime you feel like coming out this way, I would be more than happy to take you to a White Castle and treat you to a meal. I'll offer to take you to a few other restaurants too! Just let me know!

I might have to look into this to attempt it for Christmas if Jess and Tab are interested in trying it as well. I think my family would like it. Not sure if Tab's would go over as well.

Oh, lordy, White Castle brings back memories. There where many, many nights in colllege when we would hit Whitey's after being at the bar. It's perfect for midnight munchies...oh, yeah, and their breakfast is pretty dang good too. 3nodding

That pickle looks good! *picks it out* I wonder if Albuquerque has White Castle Burgers? I've not seen them before, except in some dumb movie Jason was watching. I've never had meaty stuffing, always bready, and I like it moist. Mine was kinda dry, and actually TOO flavorful for me (I shoulda picked one of the basic flavors instead of "savoury herb") although I'm sure it would have helped to have it stuffed in the turkey while it cooked, but that wasn't an option since we didn't show up at my mom's until 5pm after driving up from lunch in Alb, and the turkey and everything were almost done. Homemade stuffing sounds much better. I'll have to try that one year when I'm able.

We have the White Castle burgers here... in the grocery store they're "White Castle" in the frozen section... the restaurant is called "Krystals"... same itty bitty burger, 2 different companies. The only problem I have with Krystals is that they're soooo expensive! I've heard that the White Castle restaurant is cheaper. Krystals is still pretty new here though... been open maybe a year. The thing I liked there especially was the chicken sandwich... same size as the burger... too cute... and gooooood. They have itty bitty hot dogs too... about the length of your finger. The food is perfect for the girls cause they don't eat much anyway... and pretty cheap for them... but for us... it takes at least 4 of them bad boys to fill us up, compared to the girls only 1 (maybe 2 if they're really hungry). They have... umm... different breakfasts too. I haven't had them but I heard they were really good.
We have stove top stuffing here too... hubby gets it every year. It's good if you want a "less traditional" type of stuffing. That's the only kind hubby will eat. He doesn't like the "cornbread" stuffing like my mom makes... but I was raised up on that so I love it. I've never had stove top until hubby showed it to me... so now I've gotten to where I'll eat both because of the different textures and tastes... really adds a nice variety to thanksgiving dinner aside from the turkey and ham. 3nodding

EternalHearts MasterPurkle I've never had a meaty stuffing before and this is very interesting to me. I've never had meat stuffing either. One of these days I'm gonna have to try it.The only "meat" mom puts in hers is chicken... any other kind of meat seems kinda weird to me. Although turkey might be alright... can't be much different than chicken. What kind of "meat" are ya'll talking about? Beef, pork, fish confused ?

I use pork sausage.. same kind as you might have for breakfast. And when available, the innards from the bird (liver, heart, stomachs). This year we had two turkey breasts, and they didn't happen to have gizzards packaged with them. I STILL have stuffing left, but that's okay, it will be gone soon. I did want to try White Castle stuffing, but I can't imagine eating that much white bread, that stuff could stop a bus!
