Chlor and Uhr exchanged glances and waited, not completely confident in their translators to begin explaining everything, and not knowing precisely where to begin.

G looked at MD.
"Uh. Do you have the protocol papers?" she whispered.

"Oh, here."
She slid a set of papers over to G so that she could read them. It's important for new agents to know the rules here.
MD turned to the visitors and smiled.
"The GIB wants to welcome you to Earth. I know your visit here is very sudden, but we hope that you enjoy your stay here none the less. Would you like to tell us what exactly happened to make your visit so sudden?"

G read the papers, glancing with interest at the two aliens every once in a while.
She wanted to know what they were doing here...
... and about those boxes.

Uhr turned to Chlor, who nodded. Uhr bowed and resumed facing the two agents.
"To start begin with, you must understand something of our culture. You have had contact before with our type, so I am sure you know some, but best if I not repeated what you know as of now. Please tell me what the others of us have contacted you. We are known as Shin."
Uhr seemed uncomfortable, but felt it necesary. It was outside of their nature to ask questions such as this, but with their translators not being able to function as well as their language dictated, he felt it required to avoid confusion.

"Hmm, my superiors didn't inform me of this."
MD sat there with a worried look. She knew that there weren't many things that she wasn't informed of, which meant what had happened was very secretive... or something extremely bad had happened. She was ready to call a superior again, hoping that one of them would come and explain everything. This meeting already wasn't going as well as she has hoped. She was even wondering why she was directing this meeting at all.

"You appeared distressed. Shall I just say all culture stories of the Shin?"
Chlor remained silent, projecting an air of mystery, though it was sure to wear on people's nerves if she continued for long.

G scratched her head, slightly worried about the look on MD's face.
She turned to the Shin, both looking very uncomfortable across the table.
"I am sorry - but could you go ahead and repeat your information? We appear not to have it in the papers we prepared for this meeting, and we will need you to give us background."

Uhr nodded.
"In start, there were 9 who made. They shown bright and so made all in the river. The river is of life, and all Shin rise from the river. On our planet, this is deep engrained in us from larvahood. From our planet we reach to the stars, a single group for each ship, and we travel to the 5 stars of our birth which are all that is left of the 9 who made."
Uhr did something that translated to a sigh and tilted his head.
"Very small species, we are, but on our trip we encounter something... unright. Not on our way, but as we pass, we detect and then saw as they followed that which was our trail back home. Single message they used and we recorded. It would take some time unless someone good with record can retrieve from ship. It said something like "We are Kri, and that which hounds us chase our planet, they have come and all is beyond. Please Help us defeat." We know not what Kri were, but very tempted to help we were. Unfortunately we had to make pilgrimage and retrieve gifts, but as we landed, we found ships like Kri, except all destroyed. Where temple was, there also other building and when approached, large things come to see us. Carried weapons they did and allowed us to pass. Thankful we were they did not kill us, but defile holy ground to us."

Chlor looked at the back of Uhr's head. Uhr's face went momentarily blank.
"Assume we do that to our planet they fled."

"Not us, The Kri. Endanger our planet the Kri do by possibly making war with these who tread on our temple. We cannot fight them, pacifists, and we are worried. Seek help we do, both for us and the Kri because without answers we are. Seek refuge for the moment on Gaia and look to the GIB for what to do."
