September 1st, 2004, @ 1:26am, EARLY Wednesday Morning

Well, Erae and I haven't been up to much, except learning things. I've been helping a friend tutor children in a classroom, and by doing so, Erae is practicing his math, reading, and gasp, dare I say it - he's even started to write! So far, he can only write his name, but he's managing rather well. Next I plan to work on cursive with him.

We've been staying late at the school - he doesn't spend his time during the day at the school, as we make nightly visits to make sure my friend has everything ready for the next day.

I never really appreciated school, but I must say that this is the nicest school I have ever been to.

Erae sleeps on my lap now; we've played a good ten hours of Final Fantasy 8, but not in a row - for the last few days. He's taken a liking to Squall's outfit, with the belts and everything. I hope to play Kingdom Hearts and show him Squall's new outfit in that game. I think he'll like it.

I fear that this sweet little skunk is starting to change me. Instead of the rambunctious, wild and unmannered young thang I used to be, I am now more quiet, docile, and can actually stand being around people, though I know I have a mean streak - but I don't mean to. I really don't.

Perhaps I should try to get along with Naraka again. Even though he grates my nerves, we just don't seem to understand each other.

Perhaps now that I've changed, maybe that will change as well.

And the girl - Chavi. I miss her; she was such a cute little doll. I wonder when her plush is going to change?

Perhaps it would be best if I showed her Erae in good time, since his change and all. She was a little freaked out at him being a skunk, so I don't think seeing him half anthro-ish will do any good. She might make a hole in the ceiling at jumping so high. @_@

Heh... hopefully no one gets ahold of this journal. Especially Shard; if you're reading this, I hope your velvet bites you. z_Z

September 2nd, 2004, @ 3pm, Thursday Afternoon

Today, Erae and I never really made it to the shop. Instead, we spent the nice, quiet day outside, playing Go Fish. Erae has been practicing his numbers, and been getting most of them right. What a surprise it was, however, to be joined by Moo and Acia! I think Erae and Acia will grow up to be great friends.

A friendly card game...
Sitting on the ground, Kanth had a hand of cards, and sitting across from her was Erae. She smirked at him, spreading them apart. "... go fish."

Moo was not feeling well x.x Not well at all. But Acia had been pestering her all day, so they were off to the shop! Sadly...they never made it. The reason being that the sidewalk was blocked. Blocked by a woman and...a skunk boy. ....Ohhhhh!

In a flash Acia was gliding down from her shoulder and bolting towards the pair, persued by her poor, underappreciated caretaker. The glider skids to a halt just beside the pile of cards, glancing from Kanth, to Erae, to Kanth, to Erae...then chittering a greeting.

"Hey Acia!" Kanth murmured, smiling. "Erae and I are playing cards. Wanna join in?" Glancing up at Moo, she waved her over. "How about you?"

Acia nods and squeaks and agreement, stepping away from the pile to sit to the side, Kanth on her right, Erae on her left. A short while later Moo stumbles up and drops to sit across from Acia, yawning softly, but smiling nonetheless. "Sounds good. Whatcha playing?"

"Go fish." Dealing them out cards from the stack, she put hers face down, stretching for a moment. "You don't look so well... are you sick, Moo?" Seeming concerned, she took out a water bottle and gave it to Moo, picking up her cards again. "Water is good for you, and it helps your body become better. Hopefully you've been drinking some."

Erae tilted his head slightly, turning to Acia. "Do you have this one?" He showed her a King of Clubs, hoping she had a pair for a king.

Gladly accepting the water bottle, Moo twists open the top and takes a long drink before reply, setting the bottle aside in favor of her cards. "A bit...but I've been worse, so no worried. Don't worry, I've been taking care of myself."

Acia peers up at the card, then back to her own. She'd slipped her own cards into a crack in the sidewalk to hold them up. Glancing back to Erae, she shakes her head, chittering something which obviously means 'Go fish'.

Erae drew a card, sighing. He looked at Moo, sweatdropping. "Your turn."

Kanth nodded at Moo. "Well, I have to say that fresh air does people good, even though the 'experts' think you should stay indoors. Blah to them."

Nodding her agreement, Moo peers at her cards. "I agree completely. I'd much rather be outside when I'm sick, instead of being cooped up in a stuffy little room where I can't breath." She pauses and glances up, grinning faintly. "By the way, have a seven?"

"Yup. My favorite number, no doubt." Kanth took it from her pairs and handed it over to Moo, leaning back against the wall with a slight grin. "Go again."

She smugly sets down the pair, glancing once around the circle before pausing on Erae. "Have a four?"

Erae shook his head, yawning. "Go fish?"

Mumbling, Moo picks another card, tucking it into her hand, then nods to Kanth, "Your turn."

Smirking, Kanth glanced at Moo. "Do you have a four?"

Moo blinks...then laughs, pulling the card from her hand and passing it over. "Figures..."

She grinned, setting the pair down. "Acia, do you have any twos?"

Eyes glinting smugly, Acia shakes her head, chittering another 'Go fish' before rearranging her cards.

Sticking her tongue out, Kanth laughed and drew one, setting the newfound pair down. "Sweet." They were a pair of eights.

"Your turn, Acia!" Erae murmured softly, grinning at her. She was rather fun to be around - Erae wished that he could spend more time around her. Maybe now... they could, if it was okay with Kanth?

He'd ask later.

"All the luck.." Moo mumbles, but she was grinning.

Acia took a moment to make up her mind. Well, not really.. she already knew what card she wanted to ask for, she just wasn't sure how she'd ask. They could all speak english. She...couldn't. But that was alright! 'Cause she'd be able to soon enough n_n

Finally, she gives up on any stealth whatsoever and flips over one of her cards; a Jack, glancing hopefully to Erae.

Erae smiled and handed her one, sweatdropping. He figured she would be pretty smart... he heard she experimented with chemicals, after all.

Positively beaming, she pushes the pair aside, then turns her attention to Kanth. Picking out another card, she flips it over; a three.

"Tch! Lucky!" Kanth murmured, handing her the three. Glancing to Moo, she laughed. "Acia's a smart one. Think she'll change soon, like Erae did...? Hopefully so; I can tell Erae likes being around her."

Erae blushed, hiding his face behind his cards, which proved to be rather difficult - he only had two in his hands.

The glider grinned, both from her success and the complement, smugly placing the new pair atop the first. She blinked, stealing a glance up at Erae with his caretaker's final comment...hiding her delight by calmly scratching her ear.

Moo laughs, shaking her head in mock despair at the little glider. "Aye, she is... I hope so. It shouldn't be too much longer, methinks. They're pretty much the same age..." Grinning, she shrugs. "Acia likes pretty much everyone...but there are a couple she enjoys more then others. Erae's o-"

Acia calmly interupted by asking Kanth if the had a Queen.

Kanth shook her head, smiling. "Go fish." She turned back to Moo. "Erae's what...? Please continue."

Erae blinked at the two, turning even redder. He sighed, knowing he couldn't stop the inevitable, and flipped over an Ace, showing it to Acia.

"Erae's one of them," Moo finishes, the proptly sticks her tongue out at Acia.

At that moment, Acia was terrible thankful that she wasn't a child. Gliders, as animals, couldn't blush. She picks a card and immediately hands it over to Erae; an Ace.

Erae put down his pair, then turned to Moo. "Do you have... a one?" He waved his single card.

Grimacing, Moo hands over the card, staring down at her single pair. "I always lose at this game."

Kanth laughed as Erae set down his last. "I do too, since Erae's been playing cards with me. It's a little unfair, but I'm also proud of him."

"Speaking of abilities..." Kanth murmured, gazing at Erae talking quiety to Acia. "Erae has a shadow ability, though I don't know how to make him practice it. He's used it once before..." She thought a moment, glancing to Moo. "Does Acia have a special ability?"

Blinking, Moo mock-scowls, eyeing Erae cautiously. "Hmm...he cheats?"

Acia tilts her head slightly while listening to Kanth. Curiosity aroused, she turns her eyes to Erae, chittering questioningly. A shadow ability?? How'd he do that!?? Could he show her??

"Wind," the caretaker murmurs in reply, eyes leaving her glider for the sky. "Wind manipulation. She can basically control gusts and whatnot. She accidently summoned a hurricane a while back... We were trapped inside for days." Chuckling softly at the memory, Moo reaches for the water bottle, taking another sip.

Kanth laughed. "I love the wind. I wish I could do that when I felt like it." Grinning at Acia, Kanth leaned back, gathering up the cards.

Erae shook his head, having heard Kanth. "Too tired. I've... been trying, though. Could you show me your wind ability?" He motioned the wind with his fingers, wiggling them.

"Aye... I absolutely love that ability. And she likes it, because it means she doesn't have to launch from a high place when she wants to glide." She takes another long drink before setting the bottle down, sighing contentedly.

A squeak from Acia told Erae he needn't worry. She was sure she'd see his ability some time or another, so she could wait. She nods in reply to his queary, and within moments a gentle gust was blowing when there originaly was none...and strangely enough, it seemed confined to the area where the group was.

Erae smiled happily. "Maybe I could teach you... and you could teach me? We might teach each other, if it were possible...!" He ruffled her hair affectionately, smiling from ear to ear.

Kanth was about to reply when her watch beeped. Glancing at it, she sighed and stood. "Forgive me, but I must depart. If you feel better, you're more than welcome to visit my home - I'm hosting a party for all who wish to attend."

Acia chittered her approval at the suggestion, a likely would have giggled had she been able to. So didn't bother to fix her fur, merely grinned in reply, slowly allowing the wind to die down.

Moo's smile faded slightly as Kanth stood, but it soon returned. After a moment she stood as well, picking up the bottle and nodding. "Ah, I understand. We'll be there sooner or later, I'm sure. I don't think Acia'll let me stay away.."

The glider most certainly WOULD NOT! Psh, she'd hardly gotten to see Erae at all. And he's beaten her at Go Fish. That called for a rematch, which meant Moo would have absolutely no peace until they went to the party.

Erae put the cards in Kanth's pack, and then trotted after her, waving bye to Acia.

"We'll see you around, Moo. Take care, and I hope you feel better soon! We have plenty of things I'm sure you'd like." Walking and waving, Kanth took her exit, more than in a happy mood.

In a flash Acia had climbed up to Moo's shoulder, waving goodbye from her perch there.

"We'll drop by soon, Kanth. See ya 'round!" And with that said, Moo waved a final goodbye, then pushed open the door and stepped into the Toyshop.

September 3rd, 2004, @ Daytime, Nighttime - All Day

In truth, Erae and I have been off and on. We've been running to and fro from the store, back to the house, getting goodies, snacks, drinks, and stuff to make dinner for all the people who come in and out of the velvet shops - we are going to host a party soon.

I've never really hosted a party, but it can't be that much different from the tea shop, as the only different thing we'll have here is food.

More will come later, we're fixing and adding tv and stuff so people can watch movies, play DDR... all that fun stuff. Right now, we're putting together a pad from an X-box controller - one of the old ones. Not sure if it will work, but it'd be cool if it does.

If only Acia were here - she's the scientist, not Erae and I!

September 4th, 2004, @ Daytime, Nighttime - All Day

WOW! What a find! We found a huge screen tv for a really cheap price, as well as bedsheets to cover the beds. I always loved this house, but the relatives and such always hated it - something to do with curses and royal pride, I suppose.

We got the pad working, and it's really strange - the thing doesn't work in the daytime very well! Though it still responds, it's a bit sluggish, and you have to kick it a few times to get it to work right.

I have a few turkeys and things soaking in brine and such, but now that we've gotten everything done, I took the habit of tutoring Erae - we went through a little bit of A Midsummer's Night Dream by Shakespeare, a few fighting books, a mechanical book which we needed to put the pad together, a few books about fashionand a book about etiquette. I also showed Erae how to write his name, as well as a few sentences from a book, so he can get the words right.

At about nine or so we crashed, both very tired from the morning work as well as the evening.

We slept in the library at the end of the hallway, where it's said to be haunted. (Something my family doesn't appreciate - which is probably why they gave the house to me, and only me.) Erae and I don't care - at first, Erae was frightened, and I tried not to be, but now everything's alright. I'm not sure she'll like intruders, though.

I guess we'll find out when the party starts.

September 25th, 2004, @ 3pm, Saturday Afternoon

Dear Lord.

Erae and I keep sleeping in later and later, and it's all thanks to the late nights because we keep staying up. We played DDR nonstop today, and I'm moving up to Standard mode, as is Erae.

Haven't seen Shard lately, nor much of the other velvet owners. I need to talk to Shard - I heard he got his plush. I still don't know what it is! Argh.

I think we need to get out more every once in awhile.

Party will be soon... I'm sure of it.

September 26th, 2004, @ 11am, Sunday Evening

Played more DDR, and I nearly passed out due to trying to overachieve myself on becoming better. Erae and I then quit for the day, going to read a few books.

We went to the library and browsed around for a bit, but neither of us found anything that interesting to read. Besides that, the library ghost wasn't really around... and we missed her a little bit. She was interesting to be around, even if I currently couldn't find anything on her in the 'family history' book.

We went up to the weapons room, and practiced sword fighting techniques. I went light on Erae, because he was much smaller than I was.

After putting the weapons away, I made sure Erae practiced his 'shadow shifting', after finding out he had such a technique. I never knew that when he disappeared, he would disappear into the shadows.

Anyway, he practiced for about a half an hour, before he finally quit of exhaustion, his fur completely covered with sweat. I told him that he did wonderfully, and he seemed to perk up at that.

We should be doing more fun things... but I can't think of any lately.

September 27th, 2004, @ 4pm, Monday Afternoon/Evening

Hung out with the tweebs today. In otherwords, my cousins. They're cute, but seem to bicker all the time, seeming to not ever agreeing on one thing.

We watched Kim Possible, which Erae loved (especially at the thought of Kim using new gadgets and everything), and then watched an episode of the Powerpuff Girls. It was the episode with the Rowdyruff Boys, and Erae instantly took to Brick and his hat, wanting a red hat for himself.

... I think that once he's grown, he's going to have some serious fashion troubles. What have I gotten myself into?

We hung out the rest of the day, playing DDR, while Erae kept babbling about the Rowdyruff Boys. I absolutely loved them too, but... I worried for him. Haha, I bet it sounds funny.

I don't care if it sounds funny or not... but I am determined to help Erae with his poor fashion sense.

September 30th, 2004, @ 11:30am, Thursday Afternoon

Ugh. Erae and I woke up completely late. We went to the school yesterday, helping with grading papers and other such things. Erae's improving on his math skills, though I wish he could learn a technique other than what normal humans can learn.

Maybe shapeshifting, like myself, but I know that's a stretch. Or even a bit of magic, such as creating objects, like I do. Who knows.

However, we stayed up late last night, oogling at all the books. I had forgotten it was the book fair, and we ended up staying up until about 3 in the morning.

... we took home quite a few books, too. I think we may need to get started on them.

I want to find Shard and offer him a place to stay. I've been feeling nice lately - completely against my nature - but for crying out loud, doesn't he have a home to stay in?!

Besides, that velvet of his needs to have a nice home too. ... I still don't know what it is.

This is aggrivating me. I'm really beginning to wonder if he's a spy. Spies aren't seen and heard - that would be expecting of him, anyway. He sure acts like a spy, now that I think about it.

... and I'm the Shadow Ninja. -_-;

October 4th, 2004, @ 6:00pm, Monday Evening

Erae and I have visited the shop, coming out of our little hiding space for a few moments. After watching the three movies of Indiana Jones, Erae gave Sidney a whip, since he knew/thought that Sidney thought Indiana Jones was somewhat of a role model.

We had to leave early, though, as I was a bit 'under the weather'. Moody, more so, since my emotions are confusing me.

I hope Erae will be okay with me not really showing any emotion around anyone.

October 6th, 2004, @ 2:01pm, Wednesday Afternoon

Well, we got DDR MAX1 in the mail, and I wouldn't let Erae play unless he practiced his Shadow skills, which he did. He also likes being in the dark, especially in his room. I took out the lights for him some time ago, but I don't know if he noticed or not.

We've been busy shopping and such, and I got Erae a red hat since he's been obsessing over Brick so much.

We've been watching that episode over and over again. o_o; I'm not worried, and I'm worried about that.

Still waiting for Shaman King. If it doesn't come soon, I'm gonna track the person who sent it and scare the living wits out of him. If he even has any in the first place.

October 14th, 2004, @ 1:00am, Wednesday Morning

I have been completely out of it. Ever since my grandmother came to 'visit' me in my mansion, I've come down with a bit of the flu, and Erae's had to tend to me while I lay in bed. Miserable.

It isn't so bad - though his chicken soup could use a bit of spicing up.

We read through a few short-story books, and I made sure that Erae knew his numbers, letters, and the way he spoke. I taught him a bit more grammar, though had to cut the lesson short because I couldn't speak well anymore due to a stuffy nose.

Heh... I think Erae can keep his own journal, soon.

Not yet, though. He's still quite cute enjoying doing the things he does.

Haven't heard from Shard, and haven't felt his shadow in awhile. I still wonder what kind of velvet he got...

October 15th, 2004, @ 9:54, Thursday Evening

I love Thursdays. Really. They're the days right before Friday, when the week ends and you get the weekend to yourself.

Erae and I have been doing some horrendous book reading - fairy tales, science fiction, fantasy, dragons, fantasy-sci fi where this person's in a computer game... you name it, we've read through it. I guess I went a little crazy when the bookstore had a sale, but Erae's improved on his speech and word usage. It seems he stumbles over one after awhile, like a word he doesn't know? But he tries to pronounce it out. It's kind of cute, actually.

Well, it's getting late. Party starts soon soon - I'm putting the notice up on one of the shelves in the Velvet shop - someone's bound to see it in lime green paper, right? I want them to come; maybe I can calm down a little, and give up my wild nature.

Month of November -- List of things done

* Watched Freakazoid. Erae loved Freakazoid's hairstyle, and was pleased to know he had the same colors of hair, and could pull it off. I worry.

* Played DDR, moved up to Standard mode. Both of us.

* Got a 'gumling' from Huni Pi. I poked it. Neither Erae nor I knows what it is.

* Read Spy High. Got the second book, haven't read it yet. Loved it, can't wait to read more.

* Read Midnight for Charlie Bone, loved it, but Erae thought it too childish for reading. The story was great, but Erae expected better.

* Played Final Fantasy 8 and Kingdom Hearts. Haven't gotten very far, but Erae's addicted.

* Got Pokemon: Fire Red. Erae can't keep his hands off. He's addicted to the game. ... and he named the main character Brick. I worry about him sometimes....

* Played Castlevania: Lament of Innocence. Erae got a whip and started practicing with it like the main character does. I just hope he doesn't go after Naraka with that thing. I think he likes it better than the sword. I need to teach him combat fist to fist, and hope he can learn a bit of fire magic. Maybe.

* Read Powerpuff fanfics. Erae's addicted to Brick's sense of style. At least it's not Freakazoid.

* Worked at the pizza parlor, and Erae made his own pizza. It was a little bit of a mess, and I had to stay after to clean it up, but it was worth it. Erae got Halloween pizza all over his face.

* Went trick or treating with Erae. He loved getting candy. I dressed up as Bubbles while he dressed up as Brick. We made an awesome pair.
