SuperTurkey yeah, I know what you mean. I have this friend who is trying to learn japanese and he's always going around making mistakes. After a while I corrected him. What pissed me off is he didn't accept my help and took it as me trying to show off. He was saying ぼくはあいももです, I told him the correct way to say it was ぼくはももがだいすきです. He said "I know 3 different languages, english, german and spanish. I think I know what I'm saying". ok wtf, german and spanish are nothing like japanese regarding grammer and sentence structure stare See, before correcting him, I probably would have asked why he likes peaches so much. xd

SuperTurkey lol, yupyup. She's REALLY pretty. Bad teacher though, she's been teaching the class hiragana for the past year and they aren't even past the ta line sweatdrop maybe shes teaching proper pronounciation, example: ta- this should be said with a japanese a which is between ah and a(as in bat) the t is less aspirated, and is dental chi= this was once ti, but because of the japanese dental pronounciation of ti is dental is became tshi and was eventually slurred to chi, creating the modern pronounciation ect. which takes a while.

Most of the people in her class can't pronounce anything, they just know how to write some of the hiragana. The only vocab they know is really きりつ, 愛 and ねこ neutral

They probably just have the restaurant named Arigato instead of Arigatou because most English speaking people think of it as Arigato, not with the U at the end.
It is just more convenient and easily recognized by customers.

SuperTurkey So today I went to a Japanese resturant called "Arigato". I was sitting in the back when I overhear an older man atleast in his late 50s complaining about the name of the resturant. He was talking really loud and making rude comments. Then the waitress walks by carrying 3 big plates of food. He stands up and says "HEY!" really loud so everyone looks. She walks over to him, and he says "The name of this resturant is spelt wrong. it should be Arigato u. You forgot the U at the end" She just looked at him like wtf. She was obviously japanese and it was obvious her first language was japanese. She then said arigato and he was all "no! your saying it wrong. It's arigato uuuuuu" once again she's like wtf. So, she's standing there holding 3 plates of food listning to this guy tell her that her japanese is wrong and that they're resturant is wrong. This went on for atleast 4 minutes or so. Finally she was like "I'm sorry that we didn't put a U on arigato." and he looks at her, smiles and says "It's ok, just change it." Seriously, what an a**. I can't stand people like that. Has anyone else ever ran into someone like that? Seriously, she must really love her job, for being so calm..
..I woulda kicked that guy's @ss for sure, what the.. I'd be embarrassed to call myself japanese if I saw an idiot like that..

I know, but I just mean that most non-Japanese that meet me are all, "Oh, you're part Japanese, so you are always very calm and serene and never get mad". It's their thoughts, not mine.
