*Nyx's ears pressed back and her lips curled back away from her ivory fangs*
They are monsters, all of them... They have no place in the woods. They tear down the trees like great winds, and carry with them long sticks that make noises that make noise that split the air like thunder. And when they do, wolves fall dead.
I have seen them with my eyes pretend to be nice - offering food and scraps of meat, but they are not one of us - they do not speak and they might gain ones trust in order to find the pack to kill. My whole family was killed by them when I was a pup except for me. I do not see how the others can trust them.

Akui's eyes widened she she spoke. "They sounds like monsters! I know my pack took a beating by them before I was born. My mother was Nananii's second mate. His first was killed by humans. As was a large deal of out pack. Nananii was strong, though, and managed to pull out pack through the great losses.
I believe you. I shalt not trust them, either."

They are monsters. And I am sorry to hear of your pack's losses as well.... None of my family lived... and I was too small to know of any other wolves - I think that the rest of the pack must not have lived either.... It is a good thing not to trust them. I just wish we were strong enougn and numerous enough to get rid of THEM.

Akui nodded. "Ones that would kill our kind have no place in our woods. Especially since I've heard they kill so recklessly. Its not like a wolf, who only takes what he can eat."

So what is it that you seek, Akui, if it is not to start a pack, or two-legs?

"I don't know. To find my place in a new pack, I suppose. I was raised thinking I would one day be alpha. It wasn't it until right before my mother sent me away that I learned the truth. I wandered for a while. But I have decided life as a lone wolf if not for me. I want a pack. Packmates...a mate. I guess I want it all."

*Nyx nods* I have grown tired of living by myself as well... but I had not found enough like-minded wolves that I felt comfortable around to form a pack... and last I checked, Notoka was the closest to forming a pack and I did not want to join with him. It seems like only yesterday I was a cub myself.... the two-legs had killed all of the adults, and it was only us cubs... I did not honestly think we would survive, and I still wonder if they only left in wait for the cubs to grow to adults to come and try to kill us again when we have our pups.... but... I miss a family... a pack.... and I would like cubs of my own.

Part of me yearns to join in whatever position I can get. Yet... another feels I am selling myself short..."
Akui padded at the ground again before standing up. "I mean, I am a capable pup if I do say so myself. I survived for months barely able to leave my mother's den by fending for myself as a lone-wolf. But I am not the scared, scarred, scrawny carrion-eaters I have seen of most lones. I feel I could be a good leader."

Well... if you have survived this long as a lone wolf then I am sure that you could be an asset to a pack. I myself... I could never be Omega - It would tear me apart to be picked on and never assert my feelings.... though I do not know if I have the influence that I am sure would be necessary to be Alpha... I have not known enough of the wolves for as long as I am sure I would have had to.
But yes.... I would like to be a part of a pack, but I do not know the wolves of them...

Akui lifted his nose to the wind, smelling for any other wolves near by that might be listening. The next words came out of his mouth hastily, without much thought. Even he himself was not sure how serious he was. "Perhaps the two of us could start our own pack."

*Nyx cocked her head hesitantly* P... Perhaps.... I do not know you well, Akui... though I do like you. However, I am not sure if we could find the support we need among the others.... but regardless.... it seems we both share similiar goals. We should stop living alone.... and go seek out the others... perhaps there is another pack we could join... or perhaps we can find other wanderers like ourselves to join with us.

Akui wagged his tail in response, his head swelling a bit with the compliment. Akui was young, but ambitious. Life on his own was hard, and in his opinion, made him strong.
But now was time for change. He was growing, and fast, and he knew it was time to find his place in a new life, especially if he did not want to be a lone wolf forever.
He walked up next to her and pressed the side of her face playfully with his muzzle, a sparkle of excitement in his eyes. "Yes, I'm ready."

*Nyx gave a feral grin, nipping playfully at his cheek, some of the old pup excitement surging back through her veins as an excited shudder passed over her. Spring ahead, tail wagging invitingly she looked back over her shoulder*
Then what's keeping you pup? See if you can keep up! she called back challengingly, a spring in her stride as she followed the pattern of scents through the woods*
