Heres something I was messin with last night. I just started, and Im gonna keep going. I think Il work around a hybrid platform (flash+html), and Il post each section I do as I get it done. REMEMBER, this is just my ideas, nothing stone, and could really not even be used. Just for fun really wink xd

thegr8flashy one q from me: if you want flash on the site, do you want it in bits and pieces, where the flash is integrated seamlessly with static parts of the site, and anythink that needs to be interactive can be built into flash, and then laid into the site. IE: Banner, navigation, etc. OR Do you want an entirely flash site, where all the elements are put together into flash, and from there, it all depends on what you want it to do, as far as transitions (simple or complex), and graphics. As far as I am concerned, the flash part will do itself as long as the graphics are good =) You would want both flash and HTML website. Some people can't load/takes to long to load with flash.

Flash is often loads faster, compare a normal image to a static flash animation. The flash file would be smaller due to it's vector graphics. wink

But other than that, every computer can open a simple flash file. Unless your using anything below 98 SE. razz

Some people can't load/takes to long to load with flash. Flash is often loads faster, compare a normal image to a static flash animation. The flash file would be smaller due to it's vector graphics. wink Technically, its stereotypical to think that flash takes longer to load, as well as take less. It all depends on the content to be used within flash. Because of its format, flash tend to be on th slim side because of the way it compresses things. For instance, if you were to display a movie file (.mpeg) flat rate, it would probably be around 2-3 megs and take some time to load. Now if you take that same video file and import it into flash, gaggle with the export settings a little bit, and then export it in the .swf format, the file would most likely end up being around 200 kb. Like I said, its not really a correct statement to say its faster or slower, simply because its so versatile would make up the difference. The main reason I would see someone choosing flash over an entirely static site is the compatibility with other languages, as well as the seamless display, AND the ability to render things the same way on any browser. If you format your files correctly, anyone viewing your work will see exactly what you want them to see. And like i said before, the excuse "Not everyone can see flash" is obsolete. It may have been true 5 years ago, but as of right now, almost 78% of all sites on the internet contain some form or method which requires the flash plugin, and a staggering 98% of the internet-surfing population already have the plugin installed, most of which who are unaware of the plugins' existence. Its just plain crazy to say that because some people cant see it, you shouldnt use it. Plain and simple, the pros outweigh the cons, unless you're a natural pessimist. Plus flash is just way cool man.
