I think that Agent TIM (or some other high ranking agent) should post a formal statement in the GCD that tells them that we are NOT anti alien, and we are just there for the protection of Gaia.

I noticed that too. The people of Gaia have been telling the aliens that they should not trust us.

What is the point in telling the gaian public that we are not anti alien if we cant even get all our members to understand that we are not?

That's why there should be some kind of clean up of our members..

The civilian population of Gaia needs to know the following:
1. The GIB at large cannot be held accountable for the actions of a few rogue agents. 2. What they see in our GCD thread is what they get. We've absolutely nothing to hide from them.
I also agree with clarifying our mission statement.

1. I've added a statement at the top of our home thread: "We're not anti-alien. Just anti-annihilation." 2. People, it's STAYING a private guild, not hidden, unless the owner changes it. Because I won't.

♣ ♥ ♠Should we issue a more public announcement in the forums stating this? I mean, we can tell them the truth: we are neutral toward the aliens, but our wayward members are giving off the wrong impression, and said members will be talked to. Yes? ♣ ♥ ♠l u c k y

I agree that we should let the public know that we aren't anti-alien, like a certain agent you and I know sir. I will not name him but we both know he is anti-alien. We should let the public know we just don't want a war sir.

I have been trained to keep my violence at zero until the time calls. Too much violence causes too much attention - and of course, violence is a bad, bad thing.
How private of a group should we be, if we're trying not to cause mass hysteria?

I am here to gather facts and information. I have no intention of showing any hostility whatsoever, much less violence, unless it is given to me first.

Strangely Unoriginal Rowan Birch So everybody be nice, damn it. I believe our job is to insure the safety of Gaia, not to be "nice". We need to make people understand what we're about, then they will see that we are their first, last and only line of defence. This isn't about being nice. This is about coming across to the aliens as good ambassadors and diplomats for Gaia itself. We must be non-threatening, respectful, polite and do our best to give any strange life form not of Gaia a good impression of what a Gaian is. If we are to be Gaia's hope for good intergalactic relations between Gaia and those beyond, we must not be hostile and resist causing offence. ...but if they prove to be hostile and unwilling to be diplomatic, then of course things change. However, we've seen no hostile behaviour towards our planet, only caution. Which is understandable. So for now, we do need to remain 'good ambassadors'.

While interviews for applicants to the guild is a good idea, that's a lot of people to talk to for only a very few Agents. if the need arises, I'd be more than happy to help with screening and interviewing potential agents.
Otherwise (as harsh as it sounds, I know) thinning out our ranks may be a good idea... It's my impression than many joined for the novelty of having the name of our organization to hide their intents behind. Though as to how to filter out the unwanteds efficiently, I'm regretfully unsure :/

If what the aliens think of us is correct, then we will draw even more attention to ourselves. The Durem branch merely wants to ask the aliens a few good questions, like why they like CAPSLOCK.(though we surely don't SOUND like it)
