Hayami_Chihiro Does anyone know if Laidoll does good faceups? My friend's really interested in Shoyu...@@ I'd ask around on DoA. Start a thread in the BJDopedia asking for photos of Laidoll faceups?

Thought I'd add my 2 cents worth since I just got my DZ Xi a couple of weeks ago, and he was my first bjd too. biggrin
I've read through the entire thread on DoA about DZ copying issue (it's still doing my head in!), so I know what I'm getting myself into by buying from them. I'm prepared to defend my boy even if it kills me. Lol. But most people online I've spoke to (who may or may not have DZ dolls) have been really nice and not critical, and only giving constructive input about DZ dolls, so it's not all bad!
I've only ever met and handled bjds at a recent doll fair, so I can't say how the resin of DZ dolls are compared to others. Personally, it feels good, and I've no problems with the sculpt. My Xi poses beautifully right out of the box too. I've ordered him without faceup cos I'm just too impatient to wait, and frankly, the stock/promo photos from the various dealers' sites and ebay aren't really fab. I wanted to attempt the faceup myself as a bonding experience, but even if I didn't, I'd rather pay the $40 for someone on DoA to do the faceup.
I think it's been mentioned too, but doll-zone.com was down due to them updating the website; so no, they're not shut down. xd
Oh, and if anyone's interested, I dealth with jeeryama when buying my boy, and he's absolutely a lovely seller. Fast and prompt with replies. Guess it helps if one knows mandarin/chinese!

She rips on everything. neutral All she ever talked about in doll chat when I used to go was either 1) Volks/her doll, 2) ripping on other dolls, especially Luts', or 3)gloating about other things like.. WOW or RO, whichever it was. She got pissed at me cause I said her Syo's faceup was very plain and boring looking, too. It was rather LOLZ-worthy.
..and now back on topic 8D; I'm thinking about getting a Mo head for faceup and mod practice, sometime in the future.. (and I bet a certain someone on my lj flist will scream PIRATICAL!!1 if I post him rolleyes but oh well.) What's the best place to buy them from? x_x

What's the best place to buy them from? x_x ’You know, Usagi665 doesn't live all that far from me, and every so often she shows an interest in showing up at one of the Michigan meetups, and I can't decide if I want her to or not.... I'm really curious about what she's like beyond the inter-webs, but at the same time if she's gonna cause drama then I can deal with not knowing. Any way about the Mo head, I would see if the dude who runs Junky Spot could order him for you, as I believe he will do that for the stuff that DZ sells that he doesn't have in stock. Then it will ship from the US and you save yourself a bit of monies.

I didn't mind talking to her about other stuff, the rare times that happened, just not dolls. >_o;; Especially not in that chat room. Aha, and I wasn't even aware she even had a Gaia account. Oh well, she probably already knew everything I said. >>;
I saw the shirts. I was tempted, but I can't spare the money right now ;A; If they're still avaliable later I so will. And I'll be sure to have my DZ wear one if I ever post him. >]

I don't think I'll ever understand why people still have a problem with DZ. After seeing one in person the only thing I could find wrong was that the joints (knees, at least) were a bit wonky, but that could probably be fixed pretty easily. The two at the meetup sure posed a hell of a lot better than my Kid Delf does. :/ Then again, with the other silly things people on DoA get all scream over... it really doesn't surprise me. e_e

I'm not sure how to explain it, but it's like they need to be shifted forwards just a little bit so that he doesn't bend backwards. It's all fixable with creative posing though. A friend of mine likes shota too, and I don't mind that one bit. But he doesn't discuss/rant about it in a chat room with other people who don't want to hear it, and doesn't bring it up every 2 minutes. I think that makes the huge difference
I'm 37564 on DoD, just joined a little while back since I needed a doll forum and can't stand most of DoA (^^;
Yeah, the knees were what I noticed. The Mo I saw.. its knees DID bend backwards. gonk It looked very, very painful. I'm sure I could fix something like that though, so I don't really care too much about it XD I think I actually kind of like the idea that there may be a few things to fix.. gives me more to work on. :3
And I think I know what you mean about posing. If I don't pose my KidDelf standing just right it looks like his legs are bending backwards a bit. I sueded him with hot glue though, so now he can stand tons better without his knees locked, and he can even stand with his boots on too.
Yep! That was indeed the thread she posted into doll chat to b***h about, and what started that little fight between us. xD; Oooh memories ;[ I kinda miss being in a doll chat, but I don't think I want to ever join a DoA one again. >>;

Wow, what a kuckoo thread. That was a bit of chewing out on both sides. She may have been nicer about other things, but I think she was the one who lost her manners. Everyone else was pretty level about it all. So Usagi doesn't come here anymore does she? neutral
I'm not in love with DZs or anything, but my friend is still looking to get herself a Shoyu. smile Do you guys know anything about girl bodies and their problems?

That'd be really childish if she did something like that... she'd be no more than a preschool tattle-tale. But how can the mods ban you for these threads? You're under the Gaia contract here, not DoA's. Plus, it's a person's right for the freedom of speech. xp Bottoms up to Usagi!
I keep hearing how DZ dolls pose pretty well, but I haven't actually seen any to make an opinion. smile Then again, this isn't my doll. I'm gonna see if my friend wants to join and ask her own questions if she feels like it. 3nodding
