((Mind if I but in and add a potential enemy character (remember, though, potential enemies are also potential allies)? How long after the fall of the Empire does this take place? I might have to make him older, or change his history if its too long after. Also, are you recognizing or ignoring the Yuuzhan Vong invasion? If recognizing, are they defeated, and if so, are they completely destroyed, are have their armies been crushed, but the populace assimilating into the New Republic? If you're just kinda winging it, then, well, thats completely okay, I'll wing it too.))

((DON'T PANIC! If you aren't as into details as I, don't fret! Just skim through so you get the basic picture. Also, if you aren't as much as a Star Wars geek as I, and have no idea what I mean when I talk about certain things, again, don't fret too much. If you want to know more, just ask.))

-Name: Derek Faan
-Age: 39
-Race: Human
-Height: 5'12"
-Weight: 173lbs
-Eye Color: Brown
-Hair Color/Style: Black. Kept short, about 1inch.
-Physical Description: Looks much older then 39 (about 55-60) due to the Dark Side of the Force having drained on him a bit, but is still a skilled warrior.
-Job: Mercenary/Bounty Hunter
-Force Alignment/Rank: Dark. Dark Side Warrior. Previously Inquisitor Rank.
-Weapons: Imperial Standard Blaster Rifle. Lightsaber - Purple, but he usually doesn't use the saber in most combat situations, preferring instead to keep his past hidden.

-History: Derek was born into a well off family and lived a fairly normal life on Corellia up to adulthood (or at least as normal as one can under Imperial rule). Once he turned 18 Derek decided it was time to move out and find his niche in the galaxy. After trying a few things over the years, Derek decided to join the Imperial Navy at the age of 21. After being trained and shipped to Courscant , the Emperor himself wished to see Derek. It seemed he had chosen to join the ranks of his personal Imperial Inquisitors. Derek accepted and proved himself valuble by killing a few rebel commanders, Force sensitives, and other potentialy dangerous people. Derek, however, wanted more than just being the Emperor's slave. He began to grow more independant and quickly found himself the target of his old collegues. Derek fought a few of them off, but grew tired of doing so. Derek then changed his name and joined the Rebellion. Soon he decided it was best if he stay away from Skywalker, who was (at this point) a powerful Jedi. Derek fled and took up his real name again. Right after doing so Derek learned that the rebels had won and destroyed the Empire. Derek delighted in the Emporer's death, but didn't care for the New Republic that was afterwards set up. After an encounter with a few members of the New Jedi Order, Derek realized he was not welcome in the galaxy because of his previous alignment with the Emperor and current alignment with the Force, which he hadn't realized there was any other way of the force besides using it along with your anger to enhance one's abilities and give supernatural powers (although he had seen Skywaler and wondered what that strange feeling he got when he looked upon the sane and calm man. It was the Light Side, but of course Derek didn't know). The Jedi tried to bring Derek to the path of the Light Side of the Force, but he resisted and tried to stop using the Force at all. However, the Dark Side's power still rests in his heart, and he'll always have that in him. Derek then became a Mercanary/Bounty Hunter and has traveled the galaxy, trying to find something, but what no one, not even Derek, knows.

-Abilities:
*Dark Force Powers -
**Drain Energy - Calling on the powers of the Dark Side, one can learn to draw energy from power packs and small generators (Droids is about as big as it gets. This does not include power droids, which have a fusion generator, which is much more powerful). The energy is just released into the air and dissipates. It is rumored that some, more powerful Dark Siders can keep this drawn energy from dissipating and actually use it as a small projectile against an enemy.
**Drain Knowledge - Using the Dark Side to break into a targets mind and memories, a user of this skill can temporarily learn abilities (this means for a few hours. It is stronger and easier at the beginning of this duration, and slowly gets harder and the skill is weaker) and 'steal' memories. A Dark Side user cannot use this skill without touching the target, and it is obviously much harder if they are resisting. Sometimes, if pushed too hard, a Dark Sider using this skill can accidentally overload his brain and open it to his target. This would be deadly to the Dark Sider if they were using the skill on a skilled Light Sider, as they would instantly know how to fight the Dark Sider and completely overrule them. The target generally goes into a state of confusion just after the spell, and is mentally incapable of all that they could have done before, for a short while (30 minutes max, their mind getting more clear as time goes on).
**Force Grip/Choke. - Grab and squeeze some object. Can be any part of the body. The stronger the Force user, the harder the grip. Higher level Force Users who use this skill can also move the object gripped around. This skill can be used on any part of the body as well (as shown by Darth Vader's [in]famous 'Death Choke').
*Light Force Powers -
**Healing - Calls upon the Force to begin regeneration of wounds. Without being a super crazy Force God, its generally only used for minor wounds, since more serious wounds drain the energy required to heal something that big.
*Neutral Force Powers - All (jump, push, pull, etc)
*Other Skills -
**Dark-Sider Lore - Knows a basic understanding of Sith History from their POV. Has a bit of a dark-side bias, though, since the Emperor and his lackeys never taught Derek about the Light Side, though they did reference another side of the Force in their teachings, but never expanded on it.
**Sith Script (learner) - Can read some symbols in the Sith Script, but has only been taught very little.

-Ship: Allman-Style K-53 Planet Hopper (I made this ship up, so that name and number wont mean anything, its just for reference). Just use your imagination on how it looks, razz . A relatively small ship, fits 4 in the Cockpit (including Pilot) and has a passenger area about size enough for 10 regular sized humans. However, if you add armor, weapons, and creatures larger than Humans, it fits about 5 comfortably, 7 if squished together. There is a small cargo area, but it isn't enough for carrying much. Mostly just luggage space. The ship isn't new by any stretch of the imagination, but it is pretty sturdy and can take a hit or two. There are two forward laser cannons. The ship is pretty agile, but can't outmaneuver small ships like TIEs or X-Wings and such.

-Family: Unknown Status (Presumed by Derek to be dead).

((I know, this may seem overboard, but detail is how I roll, boy! Err, sorry about that... Anyway, I'm going to wait a bit before posting, just to see if you guys have anything to say about Derek here, and to completely formulate for myself what exactly he's going to do.))

((DUDE! You so totally rawk. *high-fives fellow Star Wars geek* xp I haven't read much of the newer books. In fact, the only ones I have read are Heir to the Empire and the Black Fleet Crisis trilogy. But I have been reading up on stuff, so I have heard of the Yuuhzan Vong. Let's just pick and choose a bit though. For instance, Chewie is NOT dead (I was really upset about hearing about that scream ), and we'll have Ben Skywalker be about 25. Also, the Yuuzhan Vong have been pushed back, but not totally defeated. But for our purposes, they won't come back during our RP. We'll also assume, as I've hinted at, that the Republic is in control, but another Empire is trying to rise again and their numbers are growing. We can make up the main bad guys as we go along. Sound good?))

((Totally. I've actually only read one book during the Yuuzhan Vong invasion, and only a few others outside of that. Its hard to keep up with all of that sometimes, so I just read the basic overarching plotline afterwards. I do enjoy reading about all the little details, especially stuff in the Star Wars Sourcebooks for the SWRPG (which I don't even play).
And about Chewie, SERIOUSLY!! WHAT WERE THEY THINKING? Grrr, Chewbacca can't die! He's crazy-go-nuts!
But yeah, that works. I'll probably post after dinner or some such.))

Derek sat in his ship, alone in his cockpit, floating through space. His sensors indicated a body moving towards him. He scanned again, but couldn't tell what it was. The ship wasn't cloaked, but it was jamming him.

Thinking quickly, Derek punched on the engines and turned his ship away from the incoming vessel. His ship accelerated forward, but his follower began to speed up as well. And still, without visual, he couldn't tell who it was.

Derek turned his ship, and the incoming vessel followed suit. There was nothing he could do, they were almost on top of him.

His comm unit buzzed. Derek, wary, answered.

He was met with a face he hadn't seen in years. He recognized the man instantly, the scar on his face was unmistakable, especially for the man who gave it to him.

"Derek Faan, how are you my old comrade?"

"I've seen better days. What do you want with me, Admiral? The Emperor is dead, you don't have to hunt me down anymore."

"Derek, Derek... Even if I did hold a grudge against you for betraying the Imperial Inquisitors and scarring my face, I am not here to fight or kill you. I'm here to recruit you. I'll give you a ship, men, and money, all you have to do is follow orders. It'll be like old times, Derek. Come with me, and become an Inquisitor again!"

Ryshel grinned and blushed, but she kept her wits about her. "Now, now; flattery will get you nowhere," she smirked.

"Oh really?" Ben walked over in front of where she was sitting and brushed his hand across her right cheek. "Then what's that on your cheeks? Kalaberry juice?"

She blushed even redder and punched him playfully. "We're making a scene," she mumbled, trying to shush him.

"I should've had the guts to 'make a scene' much sooner," he retaliated, but he did lower his voice. Ryshel didn't know what to say.

Lisha watched her master and the stranger named Ben for a moment, still smirking. After a while she got bored and started looking around the room once again, trying to take in everything she could all at once.

"Are you out of your mind?" Derek asked, "The Empire is gone! The Inquisitorius fell apart without financial and military backing. And the Imps? Don't kid yourself into thinking that they are organized enough, or have enough money, to support a new Inquisitorium."

"I'm offering you a chance to reclaim your lost power, old friend. You neednt worry where it comes from for now. Just know, that there have been changes in the Imperial Remnant. We may not have been powerful before, but that has changed. Think if over, Derek. But know that if you deny my request, our new leader will not take it lightly." the Admiral shut the communication link.

Derek leaned back in his seat, the words of his old ally still ringing in his ears.
Could someone powerful enough really have the need for Inquisitors again? Is it possible that the Imps have the money for such and institution? Derek wondered.

He jumped up to the controls and quickly ran the calculations for a jump to lightspeed.
I have to get somewhere safe. If there really is someone powerful enough to support a new Inquisitorius then my refuesal really could be dangerous, but... I don't want to return to that lifestyle. The Empire is gone, it should stay that way.

He jumped, heading in a direction he hadn't headed in a long time. Derek was jumping towards the center of the galaxy.

"You don't have to say anything," Ben smirked. "I can sense your thoughts, after all. In any case, I'm here to escort you two ladies up to the temple. My father is waiting to brief you on the circumstances."

"Just let me get a few things from my ship before we go," Ryshel replied, getting her wits back about her.

He shook his head. "Whatever you need, we'll be able to supply. We can't risk going back to that hangar tonight. You have your apprentice," he smiled at Lisha, "and your lightsaber, and everything else can be provided."

"What's so dangerous about it?" Ryshel got defensive. "The Remnant isn't organized enough to plan an ambush tonight, and I doubt they even know I'm here."

"Trust me, Ryshel; they're getting strong again. But we can't talk about that yet. We should get moving."

Ryshel still wasn't thrilled, but she had to set a good example for Lisha, and she held her tongue. When they reached the Jedi temple, she smiled to see the hero himself standing out on the landing waiting for them.

Lisha couldn't help but stare when they came close enough for her to recognise Luke for who he was. She didn't realize that she was staring, and continued to do so for some time. She had heard so many stories about him, and now she actually was seeing him, face to face...
A thought struck her belatedly from Ryshel and Ben's discussion, and she tore her eyes away from the older man to look at the man that had escorted them. He was Luke's son! Lisha now split her time between staring at the two of them.

Ryshel sensed Lisha's thoughts and her smile widened. "Yes, Lisha," she replied softly. "Now don't stare, remember?"

"And why not?" Luke surprised her by answering. "It's her first time to Coruscant after all. There's quite a bit to stare at. My recommendation would be not to stare at any one thing for too long though; you'll never be able to take it all in otherwise." He winked.

Oh great, Ryshel thought. Encourage her to be more of a handful, why don't we?

"You're only a kid once, Miss Kitana," Luke chided, but without losing that same boyish grin he was famous for. "They grow up too fast as it is."

Ryshel nodded in response, smiling weakly and feeling a bit stupid.

Lisha listened to the conversation that was going on around her, bright eyes wide with excitement, a big grin on her face.

((If you need more to work with, let me know, but that's all I can come up with for now. We may need to plot some...))

"Shall we go inside?" Luke turned to go in, looking back to make sure they were following. Ben offered his arm, but Ryshel smiled and shook her head in a gentle refusal. She didn't want to make a scene in front of Lisha, and she wanted to make sure the younger girl didn't get lost. The Coruscant temple was far larger and more complex than the one on Yavin IV that Lisha had trained in.

"Stick close, Lisha," she tried not to sound like so much of a nag, but more an advisory friend. "There's a lot to look at, but I'll give you a tour later so long as you stay with us first until Master Skywalker is finished with us."

"Actually," Luke rejoined, "what I have to say is for the higher ranking Jedi only. I've already arranged for C-3PO to take Lisha on a tour while we discuss the matters at hand. You'll be allowed to tell her what's going on eventually, of course, but in a more prudent manner."
