I am the only girl Trombonist in my school. I was last year too, but the guys weren't so hormonal. I hate sitting by them at football games. The conversations disgust me half the time. The guy next to me said I would get used to it. HA! There's one other girl low brass (french horn) ad she's leaving next year. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

I am the only wind instrument player at my entire school, but a couple of years ago I was the only girl in the brass section which was so fun cause my friend Dylan would always have to stand up for me when the guys would try and make it the men's club of the band. Plus on band trips we sat on the bus by section and yay for sexy senior trumpet players!

hehe i am one of the 3 and 1/2 girls out of 16 trumpet players... maybe it was 17. i forget. but i say 3 and 1/2 because one looks like a man burning_eyes
but yeah it rocks most of the time, but since i am the only girl (besides the man she) in 1st period... the guys like to talk about me and my body parts right in front of me sweatdrop . but besides those awkward moments i love it. i would hate being in a mostly girl section. i get along better with guys. heart

YOU'RE SO PERVISH! ALL OF YOU! STOOOOOOOOOP!!!!!!!!!!!!!"freaky burning_eyes

Trumpets always were the best section of the band back in High School. Aw, I loved my section. Sure three quarters of the guys couldn't play, but whatever. I was one of two girls (the other girl moved in my junior year), but I was about seven chairs away from her so we didn't see each other too much. Haha, it was just great because I always got to act so cocky in band to match the egos of the boys.
Hahaha. smile Marching band only made it worse.
I was however, the only senior trumpet player last year. smile But what did I care? I was section leader anyways. biggrin
It was a lot of fun being around all of the boys, definitely made me a different person than I would have been!

I'm in the trumpet section for marching band, and I'm one of three girls in a section of 10/11. One of the girls actually plays flute, and I play Horn, so there's one girl alone in a section of 8 for concert season. In my area, the girl trumpets are severely unappreciated. We're not that bad, being better than most except for 2 or 3.
Last year, there was a solo in the second trumpet part accompanying the first trumpet solo. We had two firsts last year, and the two girls (me and the other one) on second with the freshmen. The other first trumpet got the solo in the second part, which should have been the other girl's. It makes me so angry!
Comparing being in a section with mostly guys to being in a section of all girls (the Horns), I'd rather be with the girls. All of the trumpets at my school are idiots. *sigh*
