" I can imagine! I've never been very partial to helicopter rides myself. Something about not being in control of the device. After seeing this special on plane crashes... the twisted metal... and knowing that only that piece of impossible-looking machinery is keeping you from hurtling towards the ground..." He shook his head, eyes flicking towards her, internally judging her reaction.
"Anyway. Thank you as well. I am happy to be able to help you. I had a hand with the development of the procedure myself, and let me tell you - it's amazingly rewarding to be able to see the results first hand... see the lives that you can... help."
He spoke as he led her back into the elevator and retraced their steps back out to the jeep, where her luggage was still waiting. Helping her into the seat, he got back in the driver's seat and started off towards a different gate and down another dirt road.

Aislinn smiled, "Well, it wasn't all -that- bad. I've flown enough not to be so afraid of planes and such, but I haven't been in a helicopter before, and it did jar a bit...uncomfortably at times."
She was sweating a little from the heat-- California wasn't -this- warm, particularly this late in the year, and the scarf was starting to make her skin feel a bit itchy around the neck area.
She smiled, "Well, it's a noble thing anyhow."

He nodded, the smile looking a bit quirky on his mouth, but didn't respond to the compliment.
The jeep seemed well suited to the muddy dirt roads, but couldn't escape the bumps and occasional jars from potholes.
"well, I'm glad that you arrived safe and sound! And assuming everything goes according to plan, you'll be leaving even more sound than you arrived!"
After about ten minutes of drive, the jungle broke again - obviously unnaturally due to clear-cutting - revealing a cluster of two-story buildings around a larger central complex.
"Here's 'the Village" as we call it. You're in duplex 73 for your stay here." He commented as he drove up to one of many identical-looking structures and fished out a key. "I can help you get your bags to your room. But you're on the ground story, at least."

"So lovely!" she smiled, looking at the Duplexes. They weren't huge, but they'd do. She wouldn't be here more than a few months at the most anyhow, depended on how long it took to recover and get through the physical therapy.
"Ah, and yes, it'll be wonderful to be able to walk properly again. It's quite frustrating not to be able to carry things and all that."
She grabbed her backpack, at least, so that Sabin wasn't stuck carrying all her gear, and hobbled over to look for #73
"Thank you for everything. Is there a way for me to contact you if I need to?"

Sabin hefted her other suitcases and headed with her to the door, letting her open it with her keys before bringing the luggage in and sitting it down on the desk.
"No problem at all! And sure thing, you can reach the labs by pressing 0 on the intercom there on the wall panel. If you want to call any of the other residents in the village, you just need to put in their duplex number and then the pound key." He smiled.

She nodded, setting the backpack down and stretching a bit, "Allright. Thank you, again. I'll see you again soon, I hope!"
She smiled and settled on the chair, looking about her to take in what sort of space she had.
...really, she should have brought a rug or something. It was so dreary. Perhaps she'd phone home and have them send her one. She wasn't going to be here all that long, but she didn't want to have blankness to stare at while she was-- that certainly wouldn't speed her recovery!

Sabin waved as he headed back out the door. "I'm sure it won't be too long till we see each other again. Get settled in, and enjoy the surroundings. It was nice meeting you, Aislinn!"
And with that, he headed back to the jeep, and then up the road to the labs.

Aislinn smiled, waiting a few more minutes of relaxation before she set about clumsily unpacking all her stuff. Best to do it now, even if she was uncomfortable and in dire need of a hot bath and some incense.
The woman finished unpacking after an hour or two, and after the bath lit some incense and settled down with her journal.

Journal Entry:
Just arrived on this island. It's quite lovely. And the doctor is very nice so far. I think he's one of the doctors, actually, because my GP had mentioned something about a Doctor Moreau, and this guy's name was Dr. Duvert. At any rate, though, he was nice.
He said there'd be some time before I was properly prepped for my surgery, and so I'm planning to take advantage of the gorgeou beach and the open bar as much as I can. I wish I'd thought to bring my karaoke machine, but perhaps I can have someone send it from home. Apparently there are a lot of patients here just now, and I'm sure at least someone would enjoy a good karaoke night!
Despite wearing my more 'normal' clothing, I got a few looks while I was on the plane. I suppose it's the hair, but I do love my orange streaks. In California I can get away with it, but a lot of others think it's strange from what I've seen. Ah well! Vive la Colours!
This room, by the way, is in desperate need of colour. I can't paint it or anything since I won't be here that long, but I plan to have Mama send me a rug and possibly hang some curtains and pictures and stuff. Anything to bring brightness to this dreary atmosphere! I don't know how the other patients could possibly stand it!

Journal Entry
This island is...strange. Apparently everybody's turning into dinosaurs. Well, Sayuri insists it's just animals, but I'm still not sure. Kim was a dinosaur, and that makes the most sense to me. They'd make a lot more money off of people-dinosaurs than just people-animals, and isn't money always the thing behind this sort of madness?
I don't want to be a dinosaur, though. Even if Kim did still sort of look pretty if scary. I don't want to be scary. I want to keep studying too, get my doctors in veterinary medicine, all that. I wonder if they'd let me take courses online or something?
I'd have to find a way to assure them I'm working with animals, though. Maybe there are some critters here on the island I can analyze or whatever. I wonder if anyone brought any pets with them?
I don't want to be an animal. Or a dinosaur. I like being human.
But hell, if they can fix me...maybe it'd be worth it. So long as I'm something cute or pretty or something like that. I don't want to be some kind of ugly creature.
