People often have a big ol' dispute about the proper size of an Astartes marine, fret no further you knaves, for I bring you the official answer! Official you ask? Why yes! None other then Jes Goodwin, father of the Space Marines has provided me with the answer. Taken from the rare and out of print book "the Gothic and the Eldritch", Jes' sketchbook really, is this image of the father and his creation. Blah blah blah, all kudos to GW and copyrights and all that s**t, sue me already. Do not quote the image or I will have you dead before dawn.

It's Jes Goodwin and he can get away with anything, even if the face is a little off! Well, if Jes could do whatever he wanted we'd be having an Adeptus Mechanicus army right about now.

Im not very big on his art, but he does have nice concepts. Also if I remember corrrectly that book gave me my first look at Mk 8 power armor. I read through it once at a game shop in PA.

That "book" is a holy tome that I treasure with my life and value above all. Well, not above everything of course, but it ranks pretty high in my collection. Right up there with the Inquisitor Sketchbook by John Blanche, his style may look weird, but it's damned good.

Maybe its john blanche Im thinking of, is he the one that does the real real sketchy looking stuff? Like the little border pics in the Dark Imperium section of the new rulebook of stuff like the psykers, possessed, preachers and whatever else?
Also why was the marine diagram needed? Whose ever argued with you that marines are 7-9 foot tall? i thought it was common knowledge that they averaged around 8 for most chapters.

I really like his style, it's raw and full of red and yellow, but good. King Kento Also why was the marine diagram needed? Whose ever argued with you that marines are 7-9 foot tall? i thought it was common knowledge that they averaged around 8 for most chapters. In my defence? People are ******** idiots, they need a visual aid for these things. Besides, it features Jes Goodwin, added bonus.

By the way in answer to earlier reports marine DO have different armour types but i was referring to the process where their geneseed was created/implanted because there was supposed to be different ways of doing it originally with different results but the current one was eventually chosen for speed:strength ratio (note:speed refers to how quick the process not to the marines who are pretty fast anyway)

Yeah, it's fairly common knowledge that there are different types of Marine armour. I think the newest version is the 8th?
And as per my understanding, the only difference in how Space Marines are created is just the variations of cerimony and procedure from chapter to chapter, some varying little and some varying more. Also, I believe it takes quite a while to create Space Marines.

I also wish theyd make a proper diagram, not just height but proportions as well. Thats just a blown up model essentially.

Create may not be the best word, creating them takes as long as implanting everything, so perhaps the better word for the full process would be mature. How long it takes the post human to mature into a marine.

Anyway, seems that Custodes are NOT meant to be sent to warzones, they are always by the Emperors side. Their secrecy is usual with the bodyguard services, what does average M3 man know of say Secret Service protecting US presidents? Black suits and cases. What weapon do they hide in them? Uzi's were shown in 1981 Reagan incident, but are they used to this day? And no word about training nad tactics.
