Enoh had searched the entire house, plus the front yard and road, which was where Nio found her. She gave her fiancee a knowing look in response to his words, silently returning his soft kiss. She'd do the same for any of her children...

"Becareful...I love you!" She called out as he turned to leave, staying where she was until he was out of sight.

(( Leto, Frey, and Chase from the Pegasi Shop ))

Nio Love

Frey had all but forgotten about the entire game. The others had run off after one another, and he had found the nicest patch of grass to graze on. Honestly, why was everyone running around like mad when the day was so hot, and the grass was so sweet? They were mad, he resolved, and chewed contentedly on his little bit of heaven.

His ear swiveled slightly as he caught a sound, from the bushes on one side, and he lifted his head quickly, letting out a huff of air through his nose in the direction of the intruder. As suddenly as he'd done so, his ears swiveled in the other direction, as he only then noticed Leto inched closer. He turned his head to his other side, and cocked it as he gave her a curious look.

"Have you all finished romping? You must be starving, come and have a b-"

But his voice died out as he heard a much louder noise from the bushes. He startled slightly, before turning to face the bush, nosing in it's direction slightly.

"Ahoy there, whatever you are, show yourself!"

He backed up if only to move himself between the bush and Leto, looking suddenly much more mature than he'd ever shown himself to be, as he moved to stand protectively in front of the filly.

But the threat in the bushes wasn't much to be protected over. If anything, it looked like it needed more protection than the filly when it, or rather he, tumbled out. A strange looking little toddler fell out onto his hands and knees, looking like he'd just travelled a long distance. He wasn't so much scared of all the pegasi, as much as he was just tired, and lonely. He flopped back onto his rear, and sat there, looking up at the equines with a gaze that clearly warned of an impending cry-fest.

katgod
Leto just stared at the small being at first. He did not look dangerous though she was glad that Frey stood in front of her. She had been worried for a moment that it was dangerous. Her ears perked gazing at the youngling. Her lithe blue form moved from behind Frey towards the small winged child. She moved slowly so as not to startle it. Questions fell on her mind like a waterfall. What was it doing here? Was it alone? wasn't someone around to watch out for it? Was it really as innocent as it seemed?
Her braver side led her closer and closer to the infant. He seemed to be tired. Leto moved her head down, placing her nose near the child's face. She snuffled at the smell of him.

Nio Love
Frey snorted loudly at Leto, warning her to stay away - but what was he to do? Curious fillies wouldn't listen to him, and he was no better, for he was just as curious about the little yellow thing. He took a few short steps to stay relatively close, his head high as he watched the little one. How very curious..

The little boy watched the two equine come closer with round, wide eyes. His sobbing was distracted by the one who stuck her muzzle in his face, and when she snuffed at him he lifted his chubby little hands and giggled. This action came as a surprise to Frey, who bent down and muzzled Leto gently away from the prying hands, just in case.

Frey eyed the little boy with one brow slightly raised, and sniffed him himself. This was received with yet another giggle, added to which came a tiny childish voice that blurted out.

"Hoy."

Frey's head rose sharply, and he turned to look at Leto in surprise. "It talks!" He announced, clearly enraptured by this new discovery.

Chase, having lost interest in the new foal, wandered off to see what the others were doing, now that the game was obviously over. He spied Leto and Frey investigating something too small for him to see. Curious, he wandered off to investigate further.

Nio Love
One big horsie, sure. Two big horsies.. okay. But when a third equine started to come near Adonis, his eyes widened in fear. This was starting to get a little scary..

He backed away a few steps, stumbling onto his rear and trying to shuffle slowly back into the bushes. They wouldn't.. they wouldn't try to eat him, would they?

"Squi-" The boy hiccuped in mid-word, "-shee.." He called out pathetically, calling for his father, who was nowhere to be seen. Ohhhh, why had he flown away so far just because of that fire.. he wished he was home, in his own bed, in his own house, with ice cream and Vidya and the TV and all his toys and..

..and not about to be eaten by a herd of talking horsies.

Frey was mildly amused - and a little relieved - when the small winged thing moved away. It wasn't predatory, this was obvious.. if anything it looked scared. He would rather be on the frightening side of an argument.. than the eaten one.

Lifting his head to catch a glimpse of Chase coming closer, as well as Cornix wandering listlessly, he whistled and nudged them forward, while flopping down onto the floor and laying there in amusement.

"Come and see, you guys. We've found a pet."

Shiara Moon
Seeing this strange new possible playmate, Chase moved closer. He put his muzzle almost right up into the poor kid's face and sniffed it carefully, tickling the small boy a bit. the insuing giggles, startled Chase and he abruptly pulled back then looked at the boy, head cocked in confusion. "What do you think it is Frey? I've never heard of the grown-ups talking about anything like this before, have you?"

Nio Love
"I've never heard the grown ups talking!" Frey admitted with an amused neigh, grinning widely. Truth be told, he had been abandoned from birth. His family was not even a memory for him. Perhaps that had something to do with how childish he acted at times.

"I don't know what it is, but I do know that I'm keeping it. Maybe we can teach it to do tricks!"

He dropped his head to rest on his front legs and whinnied.

Donny looked from one to another, before trying to stand once more. He pointed at his chest, trying to look intimidated. "I Donny." His little facade broke almost instantly, still missing his home. ".. Where are we?"

katgod
Leto summed up even more courage adn laid down next to the child, neighing, "I am Leto. " She was not sure if the boy could understand her or not but she figured it was worth a try. "Where are your parents?" she whinned to him, trying to figure out why someone so young would be left all alone in a strange place. Her calm blue eyes watched the young one. She hoped he felt safe. Thinking of how her mother had protected her when she was young. Her mother had lain next to her and licked her. So Leto licked the golden haired child on the face.

Nio Love
Donny looked up at Leto with wide, sad eyes, reaching out with one chubby hand to her muzzle when she licked his cheek, as if perhaps he didn't understand, but once she mentioned his parents, he started to sniffle, and the tears started falling. "I don't know.. they far.. Donny fly too much.." He pointed in the direction from which he came, a direction which he had flown in a straight line without looking or thinking for quite some time, before starting to realize just how lost he was.

Frey's amusement at their new pet faded when he saw the child cry. His head lifted, and cocked slightly, before he pushed himself back up to stand, shaking his short mane out. He hobbled quietly over to the boy, making sure he noticed so that he wouldn't be surprised when Frey dropped down once more, beside him. He reached one leg out and gestured for the boy to rest in the crook of his front legs, and the boy complied, clinging to the other leg like a plushie.

Frey didn't know why he'd done it, but the boy needed comfort, and he suddenly found it to be his duty to do so.

"Silly boy, losing your family like that. They're probably worried about you."

Shiara Moon
"I don't think he did it on purpose Frey." Chase looked at the poor, lost little child, "I'm Chase, Donny, it's nice to meet you," he said with a bit of a smile. It must have been awful for te poor kid, all alone in a strange place, not knowing where his parents were, but it wouldn't help to mention this to him, it would probably only remind him of his problems, better to distract him, at least until he felt more comfortable with them. "You know, you're being very brave Donny," Chase said, appealing to the boy's pride, "Not many kids could act so tough in a strange place."

katgod
For some reason she felt that Frey and herself were responsible for the boy.
She wanted to help the boy of course, but she was not sure exactly how to do that. Her wings were not yet ready to fly. She would be ready soon, but would that be too long for the child to live among pegasi. Leto stayed next to the boy and as he cried she nuzzled him softly. Leto's blue eyes met Frey's as she spoke softly. "We cannot keep him. If anything we should attempt to bring him home. Keeping him here away from his kind is out of the question. He needs to be among those who know how to care for him and perhaps even love him."

Nio Love
Adonis let out a soft gurgle of approval at Chase's words, smiling faintly. "Thank'oo." He muttered, grinning broadly. "Donny also very pretty."

What that had to do with anything was a mystery. Still, he felt as though it had to be said.

Frey looked dissappointed at Leto's response. "We can't keep him? Bah.." He couldn't see why not. He'd make an excellent pet. Still.. the boy had a home, unlike him, or any of them. He should be given a chance to live with his family, a chance they were not blessed with having.

"Fine, fine. Donnyboy, you can fly, right?"

Donny turned up to Frey, his nose brushing against the large muzzle in his face. He nodded, but his wings fluttered faintly. "Donny tired.."

Frey blew air in the boy's face, causing Adonis to squeal in giggles. The sound even made Frey smile, it was addicting.

"Do you remember the direction you came from?"

Donny nodded, and pointed back towards the trees behind the bush he had been hiding. If the boy truly had flown in a relatively straight beeline from there, eventually.. they would end up near his home.

Frey nudged him softly to move away from his legs, and his muzzle bit down on the boy's cloak. He lifted him up and swung him once, twice, three times, until the boy went flying and plunked down behind Frey, on his back.

"I'll take him home." Frey announced, quite seriously. If he had to give up his pet, the least he could do was be the one to take him back. Once Donny was secure on his back, he pushed himself up, and the boy struggled to cling to Frey's short mane, holding on tight. Frey leaned his head down to Leto, nudging her muzzle with his.

"You guys better not run off on me while I'm gone."

katgod
Leto was glad that Frey was taking the boy home and encouraged the idea. She was concerned for him though as seen in her blue eyes. She would not let him go alone. "You should not go alone, Frey. Take one of us with you. No one will be running off I assure you of that." Somehow Leto felt herself taking a lead mare position before any herd had formally been made. She would love to go on an adventure but worried that her responsibility lay with the others. She should haelp in any way she could. Donny would get home, but would Frey be able to make the whole trip alone. He might have only thought of getting there. Leto wondered how he would be getting back.

Nio Love
Frey neighed softly, almost laughing. "I can assure you Leto, I'll be fine. If the way is straight then it should be a snap! Besides, I've got an excellent sense of direction."

There was, perhaps, a part of him that was trying to protect Leto from possible danger. Still, it didn't seem like it would be such a hard goal to accomplish; run and/or fly straight there and back. Without having to wait for the boy to keep up since he was on Frey's back, it would probably be a short trip.

Frey walked in a circle, shaking lightly to make sure Donny was holding on tight enough. Sure enough the boy tightened his grip as he felt himself slipping, and Frey turned his head, nipping at the air near him. "Don't you let go, or else I won't be held responsible for little boy bits splattered all over the ground."

Donny winced visibly, making a face. "Ew.."

"Yeah. Ew is right."

katgod
Considering what the colt said Leto finally gave way. She could not stop him so she replied somewhat grudgingly, "I understand." She thought for a moment and then also said, "Good luck. We will await your return. If you are gone too long we will send a search." She was somewhat saddened to see the brave colt leave. Standing back on her own four hooves, Leto shook her mane and let out a long whinny. As if in triumph but it was more a send off than anything else.
"Goodbye, Donny. If you ever need help don't be afraid to come visit." She nuzzled the child softly and backed away.

Nio Love
Frey grinned wide, neighing in response to her farewell whinny. He lifted his front hooves up into the air for a moment, making Donny snap back slightly. The boy held on tight, and that was enough for Frey.

Donny giggled as Leto nuzzled him, letting go of Frey's mane with one hand to reach out and pet her muzzle softly. "You pretty, and nice." He commended her on these fine qualities, before grasping onto the mane once more and holding on tight. "Bye bye!"

"Okay kid, point in the direction again and we're on our way."

Donny's little chubby finger lifted without letting go of Frey's mane, and Frey turned in that direction, scuffing the ground for a minute before moving into a trot in that direction, which quickened into a gallop, and eventually started a full out run. Eventually he would take to the air, but for now he thought it best to take good care in noting the immediate surroundings of his new haven, for when he returned..

Nio looked like a bum.

No, really. Despite the expensive hat still perched on his head, and the shiny cane clutched in his tired hands, Nio looked like a broken, bedraggled bum.

He had been searching for two days. The first day had been on foot, searching through all of Durem and Gambino for ten hours straight. He spent a quick night - which consisted of a 4 hour sleep - in the nearest hotel, if only so as not to collapse in his search. But his exhaustion didn't matter, all that mattered was finding his son.

Which, sadly, he did not do.

He spent the entire next day taking public transportation to the farther towns, spending hours searching through Barton without success, and finally being driven all the way up into a town he had never even known existed. The cab driver briefly told him he was in Aekea before zooming off, leaving him in a dusty wake. In fact, dust was all he could see until he walked past the outskirts of the city into it's industrial center. As he searched the city, he realized he had never once been here, never even known about it. Had this town always been here before? Well, that didn't matter to him. All that mattered was finding his son.

Which, once more, he did not do.

Standing on the opposite outskirts of Aekea after running through it with a fine tooth comb, Nio had collapsed somewhere near the trees, staring hopelessly out into them.

As soon as his legs worked again, he would venture into those forests, no matter how dangerous, and continue his search. He would never give up.

And so this was where we find Nio, sitting haphazardly at the end of the road out of Aekea, looking like a very worn out bum.

His eyes itched, and he blamed it on all the dust. He reached out and rubbed them furiously with his fist in a surprisingly childish gesture, and when he opened them once more, there was a large blue stallion in his face.

He blinked furiously for a moment, briefly considering it a mirage due to his exhaustion, until it bent it's head, stuck it's muzzle in his face, and snorted to get his attention.

Nio yelped in surprise and fell back on his hands, staring up at the blue pegasi that called himself Frey, carrying a sleeping Donny on his back.

Then the surprise of the pegasi melted away as Nio's mind registered what he was looking at.

"D..D... DONNY?!" He screamed, and the little boy lifted his head up sleepily, blinking the haze away until his eyes focused on his father's shocked expression.

".. Squishee!" He squealed, sliding off the Pegasi's back. He would have toddled over, but in the time it took for him to slide off, all of Nio's exhaustion had fluttered away - and he had jumped to his feet, reaching out and collecting the boy in his arms before he even had time to turn around. Frey snorted in surprise, his eyes narrowing at the boldness the human acted with. But, it seemed as if his new pet was happy with this reunion, which meant the large human had to be who they were looking for.

"Good. You are the one who bore my pet, then?"

Nio looked down at Donny with a wide smile on his face, completely ignoring the fact that the horse just asked him a question. Exhaustion, again. That must be it.

But Frey was not too keen on being ignored. He leaned in and nudged the large human with his muzzle, and Nio turned around, the happiness in his eyes flickering in place of confusion, until the horse repeated his question.

"You.. can talk."

"How observant. Are you his mother?"

Nio held back the snort of laughter. He cleared his throat and held a straight face, shaking his head. "His father."

"Ah. Well. Then I am done. I return to my herd now. Take care of my pet, I shall visit often."

"Your.." But before Nio could ask him why he was calling his son a pet, Donny screamed in dissent, giving the Pegasi a contemptuous look. "FREY NO GO!" He cried out, and the pegasi tilted his head slightly.

"Yes, Frey go. Frey's going home."

"Frey stay with Donny."

"Frey has a-"

"FREY STAY WITH DONNY."

Nio winced at the yell his son gave, and stuck his finger in his ear to try and rub the ringing out. "It seems my son's a little attached to you. How about you come home and stay with us, at least for now?" In a hushed voice, he leaned over and whispered. "You can come and go as you please."

"Well of course I can." Frey snorted out indignantly, and his front hoofs pawed at the ground as he contemplated the option. "Fine. I will escort you to your cave."

"..yeah. Our cave. Sounds like a plan. How about it, Donny?"

"Squishee, you stink."

"..Thanks, boy." He hailed a cab, but quickly changed his mind as he gave Frey a quick look. "Ah.. you're not gonna fit in this cab very well, are you?"

In response, Frey reached out, chomped down on Donny's tunic, and flung him out of his father's hands. Nio's eyes went wide and he reached up to try and take his son back, but the boy flew quite easily back onto his new friend's back, and clung to his mane.

"I will carry my pet, and we will follow what you have summoned to carry you."

Nio looked disconcerted at this option. He really didn't want to let Donny out of his sight, now that he had found him.. he wanted to curl the boy up in his arms and never let him go. Nonetheless.. it didn't seem like he was given any choice.

"All right then.." He murmured, with just a touch of sadness. He climbed into the car and told the driver to take them back home, before slumping into the back seat and falling asleep three seconds later.

"Your father loves you very much, it seems."

"Yes. Still stinkee though."

Frey snorted in laughter as he vaulted into the air to follow the obnoxiously yellow cab. "I should think that is because of how long he has been searching. Besides, you don't smell too fresh either!"

"DONNY SMELL LIKE SPRING ROSES."

"Hardly."

Finally, they were headed home.

Enoh Love
"--In tha Paaaaark...!" Vidya was grinning as she sang to a song she made up as she went. The tale had one hand grasping that of her elder sister, Mieke, and the other was clasping Adonis' hand. Oh yes...going to the park with friends and family, and singing a song...life was just perfect.

Mieke giggled, swinging both her and Vidya's arms merely because it was fun to her. Ooh...she couldn't wait to do this with her own fawn! Absently, she moved her free hand to pat her still rather small belly.

A sudden squeal came from Vidya as she caught sight of the monkey bars, of course startling Mieke. Dropping Mieke's hand, she danced around the doe and grabbed one of Lance's hands, tugging Adonis along with her.

"We're HERE!" She squeaked happily, pulling her brother and friend towards the park so they could play already! Geez, the walk was way too long...now was the time for some fun!

Chibi_Dragonfly
Lance had been feeling surprisingly glum again as of late, but he felt that maybe, just maybe getting outside would have an effect to cheer him up.

He had walked several steps behind Mieke, Adonis and Vidya for quite awhile, only to have himself dragged forward, and towards the monkey bars. He yelped in surprise as he was pulled along, and blinked, his red eyes gazing towards Vidya, and at her enthusiasm.

How did she always manage to be so damn cheerful?

Well. Maybe it would wear off on him..

Maybe.

Nio Love
Adonis squealed softly at the end of every lyric Vidya made up, just lending his voice to the sounds of the song instead of singing it. His sister was so much fun, after all! He had mainly hopped to the park, partially because he enjoyed stamping on things, but partially simply because his feet lent an uneven percussion to his sister's melody. Thusly when he was pulled away from Mieke, he almost tumbled over his own feet, looking up at the doe when he was pulled away with a look that seemed just a little.. worried.

He wasn't being bad by letting Vidya take him away from Mieke, right? Right!?

He looked up as they neared the monkey bars, staring at the contraption in wide eyed confusion.

What in the world were they supposed to do with that?! More importantly.. would it mess up his hair? MORE importantly.. would Mieke still think he was a good boy if he played in them?!

These prevalent thoughts went through the toddlers innocent mind as he stared up at the playground. After all, these were the most important things in life.

Right now.

Inle-roo
Tybalt had been coming to the park often since his encounter with Linneas. It was quiet there, usually, and he took any excuse possible to distance himself from his own household full of people and pets. The younger kids that also frequented the park often bothered him, with their shrieking, and pointing, and attempts to grab his feathers. He had gotten tired of their mother's complaints when he smacked them in retribution for the latter, and so had taken to climbing up and perching in the large tree that graced the middle of the park. It wasn't exactly a tree made for climbing, but Tybalt's claws made it easy for him. It was his spot, and his alone, and he reveled in that knowledge.

He had been in the midst of some daydream or another when a familiar voice caught his ear. His wings perked, outwardly displaying his hope that the voice belonged to who he thought it did, and he smiled as a glance through the tree's branches confirmed his suspicions. "Oi, Viddy!" he yelled from the tree, worming his way to an open spot before leaping into the open air. His wings unfurled and he glided towards the very play structure the three younger Tales were heading for. With a rustle of feathers and an elegant upward swoop, his talons caught the metal bars, and he stood atop it, a rare smile upon his face. It only widened as he caught sight of Donny, and didn't falter as he spotted Lance.

Enoh Love
Vidya blinked her white eyes upon hearing her name, and she visibly brightened once she recognized the voice, even if it was a tad bit different...there was no mistaking the voice of her Captain! She instantly looked around for him, and finding nothing, her expression lapsed into that of confusion. Maybe...maybe she was going crazy?! Oh no, thats bad!

"Viddy thought she hear'd Cap---Oh!" She cut herself off, seeing a flash of red out of the corner of her eye. Her side wings perking as she brightened once more, she turned towards Tybalt, her eyes now wide with awe. He was so much bigger now! He grew! Vidya also assumed he was now more than just a little taller than she; but then again, he was standing on the monkey bars...so quite possibly her assumption could be wrong.

Just maybe.

"Oh YAY! Cap'n! Hello, Hiya!" She laughed happily, letting go of her captive's hands before toddling over to the monkey bars on her own, fully intending to climb the entire thing to just hug him. Oh...and probably to compare height.

Mieke caught the strange looks Adonis was giving as he wondered what would make him a good boy, and what would make him a bad one. Shes told him to be good to get ice cream, and she also said if he was bad, she'd put the child collar on him...that same collar Nio had given her while Enoh wasn't looking. Her adoptive father was crazily paranoid about this one for sure. Lets just hope his paranoia wouldn't spread to Vidya as well. THAT would be scary...considering the sea monster is a pirate.

The doe made shooing motions with her hands, trying to silently tell him that he could play and have fun.

Chibi_Dragonfly
Lance's eyes darkened as his gaze fell upon Tybalt. Well. The bloody pirate had definately grown, and this strongly irritated Lance.

"M'going for a walk," he said, and before anyone could stop him, he turned to the left, and began walking towards the swingset.

He wasn't in the mood to deal with Tybalt. He hardly knew Adonis, and wasn't sure who's side the angelic being would be on.

"It's not about whose side," he told himself, his tail dragging behind him, his sword held just above the ground.

Always respect your weapon...

Nio Love
Donny looked from Mieke, to the monkey bars, to Vidya, to Mieke, to the monkey bars..

And once the screws had finished churning in his mind he let out a happy little squeal and grabbed onto one of the bars, struggling with all his might to try and climb it.

He didn't get too far.

"Umph!" He cried out, as his wings made him lean back and he fell off the two rungs he'd managed to climb up, and landed on his rear on the ground. Honestly, why did they have to be so heavy! Well, try and try again.

"Umph!" He wasn't doing too well, and that was unacceptable! Cap'n Tybalt was at the top of this contraption, and how was he supposed to say hello if he couldn't make it up two darn bars!

"Umph!" He cried out one last time, and remained with his rear in the sand, looking as if he was going to cry any minute. Then.. an idea struck!

What was wrong with him?! He could FLY.

His mighty wings gave a hard flap, and while it got sand all in his face, it sufficed to begin the ascent up to the top of the monkey bars to go say hi to Cap'n Tybalt.

How he would manage to stay up there once he landed.. would be another story.

Inle-roo
Tybalt's wings flared and stretched for balance as he began walking across the top of the monkey bars, intending to meet Vidya halfway. It had been quite awhile since he had seen his first mate, and he was eager to show off the effects of his growth. He crouched as he reached the first bar, reaching his arms down to help Viddy up--

--and narrowly missed getting knocked off the bars as Adonis shot upwards. He couldn't fault the boy, not really--after all, what was the point of having wings if they didn't benefit you? He tilted his head upwards, calling to the youngest Tale, "'Ey t'you too, Donny!"

Enoh Love
Vidya blinked in the sunlight, seeing her Captain move closer to her. Was he going to help her up...? Oh no...she was not about to accept help so easily! He'd grown bigger, so it only made sense for her to try and do the same. She IS his first mate, you know. Her white eyes narrowing in determination, she pulled herself upwards, grabbing the second bar and placing her feet on the first.

She grinned to herself. One down, only about a billion to go! Pushing herself onto her tip toes on the first bar, she managed to grasp the third bar, letting herself dangle from that for a second before lifting her feet up one at a time to rest on the second bar. Oh yeah, she was getting good at this! A few more and she'd be closer to the top! Good thing she braided her hair today...or this would've been HARD. Vidya pulled herself up another three bars before she stopped to question herself.

Wait a minute. Why was she up here again? Oh yeah! She was going to hug Tybalt! Blinking again, she looked around, trying to see where he'd gone to...oh, there he is! Pretty much below her now. Giggling, she shuffled along the set of bars she was standing on until she was completely behind him....and of course jumping onto his back as lightly as she could, wrapping her small arms around his neck, and clinging to his sides with her knees. Whoo, pounce on the Captain! What a fun game. She fell into another fit of giggles.

"Gottcha Cap'n!"

Mieke leaned her head to the side, watching the brother and sister duo practically attack the child that was most obviously Tybalt. Even before Vidya announced that the boy was a "Captain", the doe could guess who he was by merely recalling Vidya's rather detailed description of him. Even though he'd grown...Vidya's descriptions were very, very accurate.

However...there was one child missing. Panicking, she frantically looked around for the third boy, spotting him on the swingset. He looked so...out of the loop, she supposed. Glancing back at the trio on the monkey bars (and boy were the playing children a bunch of monkies...), she wandered over towards the swingset, taking the swing next to Lance as her own. Wrapping her arms around the chains that held the swings, she eyed the boy, worry apparent in her eyes.

"Hey there Kiddo...whats wrong..?"

Nio Love
((I'm posting out of turn simply cause I'm leaving until tomorrow night, so I don't wanna hold anything up <3))

Donny had at some point forgotten his goal when he floated upward, until he heard the Cap'n calling out to him. He fluttered down slowly, calling out a "HOY~!" before landing on the bars just above Tybalt and the glomp of blue now clung behind him. Donny rested his feet on the bars, but they slid, and instead he moved to sit on the bar itself, curving his legs around it so he could flip around and hang from it by his legs. He swung languidly, his head now even with the heads of the other two, and his blonde curls flying madly as they reached for the ground. Viddy was right, this place was fun!

He opened his mouth to let out a string of nonsense, but instead his head banged against the lower bar during a hard swing, and he dropped one hand to rest on his head, making a sour face.

"Owwah." He announced, more out of annoyance than pain.

Chibi_Dragonfly
Lance had climbed onto one of the swings, and was digging a toe into the sand below him, staring at the ground. His sword was laying across his lap, and he ws idly rocking forward and back, his wings drooping behind him. He didn't even bother looking up to watch the other's. They were their own little click, and Lance... Well, he just couldn't fit in. He hardly knew Donny, but he wasn't sure if he wanted to. He blinked as Mieke approached, and his red eyes lifted to acknowledge her prescence.

"...There's nothing wrong, persay..." he murmered, his red eyes falling back to the ground, "I just don't fit in with them. I guess... I just don't really fit in anywhere..."

He sighed, and smiled to her weakly, before beginning to swing a little more furiously. Forward and back, his wings still drooping. His heart obviously wasn't into swinging, but...

Tybalt watched with a sense of pride as Viddy managed to scale the metal monstrosity all on her lonesome, and though he wobbled a bit as she pounced upon him. His hands immediately grasped the metal in an attempt to steady himself, and his wings and tailfeathers splayed for added balance. Even after he got his balance back, he kept his wings down. He didn't want to crowd Viddy, after all.

A warm smile touched his lips as he settled himself into a more comfortable position, one that wouldn't be so hard on his legs. "It seems y'do, lass! What d'ye plan t'do with me now that you've got me, hmm?" He chuckled as the head of Donny joined them, and winced sympathetically as the younger Tale smacked his head. "'Ow're th' two of you doin', other'n clumsy?"

Vidya was preoccupied once more, staring at the red of Tybalt's wings. She loved the colour red just as much as she loved the colour orange, and since Tybalt's growth, it seemed that the pretty red he possessed had only gotten prettier, and she was more than happy to admire it for now. Her attention did move back to him once he spoke to her though, her white eyes turning to stare at the side of his head.

Do with him? Honestly, she hadn't thought that far ahead. Well, now that her Captain was her Captive, she studied him, trying to plot her next move before he decided to take her off of his back. Vidya suddenly looked as if she were going to speak...but blonde curls caught her attention, and at the chime of the metal bars, she winced and placed one of her hands on her forehead in sympathy, her side wings flickering.

"Oooh...Ouch! Donny okay?" She hoisted herself so she could see better over Tybalt's shoulder, staring at her upside down brother. Her gaze turned back to Tybalt (or the side of his face, to be specific) as he spoke once more. Brightening again, she giggled with glee. "Viddy's good! 'gotsa new dress for Momma and Dadda's weddin!" She beamed, obviously proud of that fact. "N'how're you? Cap'n's so BIG! Still pretty colours, though. N'tall...!"

Mieke rocked herself back and forth, her orange gaze on Lance as he spoke to her. Her gaze then flickered towards the monkey children and the monkey bird boy.

"Why don't you try going over there then? It qon't hurt, you know."

Mieke had no idea what transpired when Tybalt and Lance first met.

Nio Love
The bump wasn't that hard, and though Donny scrunged his face up, he giggled softly. "Donny okay~" He chimed back in response, before pulling himself up and hanging off the bar by his hands instead of his knees. He dropped down to the bar below and flopped on it, wobbling unsteadily.

"Donny got a pretty dress for weddin' too but it's black not white like Viddy's." He announced, unaware that what he'd been given wasn't a -dress-, it was a little mini tuxedo. All he knew was the word Vidya used, and hence felt it was perfectly understandable to use the same word in his case.

Right?

He beamed proudly, unaware of what he'd just said, or how much ridicule it might spurn had he been in the wrong crowd. Hiw proud beaming faltered slightly for a moment as he lost his balance, and reached up with one chubby hand to hold onto the side of a bar to regain his balance. He had it covered.

Inle-roo
As Viddy shifted, Tybalt wrapped his arms around her legs, making sure she wouldn't fall off. He startled himself with it, not really knowing why he encouraged the prolonged contact; surely, if it had been anyone else, they'd have gotten a black eye for daring to touch him in such a manner. This was VIDYA, though, and for some reason, he didn't really mind it when she touched him. Part of him wondered about that; the rest of him didn't really care; all of him, however, preened both mentally and physically at his first mate's compliments.

"Why thank'ee, m'dear! 'M sure ye'll be pretty when y'grow too." His grin was more than a little arrogant, although he sincerely hoped Vidya would grow soon as well; already he was finding it difficult to relate to the pair, as much as he liked them. His smile fell, then, and he made a face at the mention of Donny's attire for the impending wedding. "Yer...gonna wear a dress t' yer parent's weddin', Donny?" Pity welled within him...it was bad enough that Donny LOOKED like a girl, did his parents really have to dress him like one too?

Enoh Love
Donny was wearing a dress? Since when?! She'd seen the outfit their parents had bought for him, and it didn't look like a dress at all. Vidya stared at him blankly for a moment, wondering about this. And then, rather suddenly, everything fell into place...Adonis didn't know the word for his outfit! Knowing this, the blue child fell into a fit of laughter.

"OH no, Donny!" She giggled out, shaking her head. "S'not a dress,. i'sa tux. You gotsa tux 'cause yer'a boy, and I gotta dress 'cause I'ma girl!" She corrected, still giggling out her words...though her laughter had died down a bit. That would be silly, a boy in a dress!

When her giggles quieted completely, she then lifted her hands to rub her eyes. "Thank'yah! I wanna grow too...s'easier to be a pirate if yer'all big n' stuff." Her words had suddenly started to fade off as she spoke. She was finding herself so tired lately, without any reason to explain it.

She was not, however, going to succumb to this! She was at the park, so she was going to stay awake! Shaking her head a bit, she lightly tapped on Tybalt's shoulder. "Down please!"

Chibi_Dragonfly
Lance's gaze continued to stay rooted to the ground.

"M'not wanted over there. An' I sure as hell don't want Tybalt makin' fun of me for being smaller than him," he muttered, glowering to himself.

He continued to swing idly, his tail dragging in the sand behind him.

"That scum of a pirate and I don't get along so well," he murmered, "An' Vidya's his crew... And..."

He sighed, and drooped further towards the ground. He didn't want to explain anymore. He didn't want to watch them play. He just wanted to go home, and spar out in the back with the dummy he had built himself, or even find Dragonfly and get her to read more of Eragon to him or...

Well. He really just didn't want to be near Tybalt anymore. It might have been okay to play with Vidya and Adonis, but Tybalt? At the moment, Lance's self esteem couldn't deal with the stuffed parrot.

Nio Love
Donny quirked a brow at the face Tybalt gave him. Why did he look like it was a bad thing? Things got even worse when Vidya peeled out in laughter. Donny's cheeks turned a faint pink, and he puckered his lips as if he'd just eaten a sour lemon. What had he done that was so funny?

"Well I didn't know.." He murmured, bending so that his face was partially hidden behind a bar, as if he could hide behind it's small metal frame. "I just knew we both got one, 's all.."

Boy did he feel silly. He looked away from them for a bit, looking out at the scenery that was afforded to them by being so high, and his gaze fell on Mieke and Lance.

"Hey, why don't he wanna play with us?" Donny asked as he pointed in their direction, partially because he wanted to get off the topic of whatever made them laugh at him, and partially because he really wondered.

Inle-roo
Tybalt nearly breathed a sigh of relief at the knowledge that his young protege was NOT going to be stuck in a dress; he imagined it would be good for the young Tale's sense of self if he had been. "Aye, Videe, yer right. Ever'thin's much easier if yer bigger. I couldn' climb trees, or go out on me own, or fly or anythin'!" He still wasn't supposed to go out on his own. As if he would follow his mother's orders.

He spread his wings outward, preparing to jump to the ground, when he heard Donny's question, and his gaze followed Donny's arm. Sapphire eyes narrowed as he smirked smugly, almost cruelly. "'E's afraid o' me, I bet, 'n rightly so. I kicked 'is scaly arse when I was naught but yer size, Donny, 'n it doesn't look like 'e's forgotten it." Smart kid; Tybalt would run away too if he had to face himself again after that embarassing defeat.

His body tensed to spring, and he held Vidya's legs a little tired. "'Old on tight, Vid." With that, he leapt backwards, wings and tailfeathers outspread. The pair floated to the sand below, albeit the descent was a little faster and the impact a little harder than Tybalt was used to--it was to be expected, however, with Vidya on his back. Almost immediately, his feet sank into the sand almost up to the ankle; his sharp talons would give him no purchase here. Tybalt's lip twitched briefly in distaste, as he was reminded yet again why the tree, and not the sandbox, was his favorite haunt.

Enoh Love
Vidya managed to giggle a little bit.

"Oh, s'okay Donny...You did'n know....just...a boy wearin' a dress s'a funny picter." She didn't realize how aweful it sounded for her to be laughing at him, especially since he didn't know what the difference was. She grinned sheepishly at her mistake, feeling better since she had let him know why it was she laughed. "Viddy's sorry."

She squeaked a bit, clinging onto Tybalt's back as he pushed backwards to propell them off of the monkey bars and onto the sandbox. Once she was sure he was on the ground, she loosened her hold on him, and wiggled herself off of his back...standing on sand was hard enough with feet, nevermind being big and having talons! She dusted herself off, a scowl on her lips from the conversation about what Tybalt had done to Lance.

"N'tha wasn't very nice, Cap'n...He did'n do anythin' to you." She had folded her arms over her small chest as she spoke, obviously still not impressed by the measure Tybalt had taken to win that one. Her sidewings twitched as she looked over towards Lance, but he appeared to be talking to Mieke...and thus she figured he might not want to play here anymore.

Mieke's ears drooped a bit, casting a side glance towards the trio. Was Tybalt really that bad? Vidya had nothing but good to say about him, but then again...she had nothing but good to say about nearly everyone, aside from Kalani and Ren. Sighing a bit, she looked down at her shoes as she dug her toes into the sand.

"But you're Vidya's friend too, right? You have as much of the right to play with her as Tybalt does...and you should know by now that you're always wanted around, Lance..." She purred out her words, absently taking on a somewhat motherly voice. "I'm sure Vidya and Adonis can come up with something that all of you can play, whether you're on good terms or not. I've noticed they're talented like that." She paused for a moment. "I guess...maybe you shouldn't let your dislike for one person ruin your playtime with others, if not your entire day. It really just depends on how much you want to go play with the other two over there."

Chibi_Dragonfly
Lance sighed and continued to idly rock on the swing. It wasn't taht she was scared of Tybalt, he just didn't want to deal with the feather brained annoyance. He didn't feel like fighting today, and a knight new when to fight, and when to retreat, and when to just... Well. Just do whatever one wanted to do, and right now Lance wanted to avoid another conflict with Tybalt.

His face scrunched up in semi-annoyance as he gazed towards Vidya, Adonis, and Tybalt, and he shook his head softly.

"Maybe I'll just walk home," he murmered, pulling himself off the swing and walking across the park, towards the street.

He paused as he listened what she had to finish saying, and he sighed again.

"It's not that I don't want to play with Viddy and Donny, it's just..." he hesitated a moment, trailing off, "I just know that Tybalt is going to pick a fight with me, and quite frankly I know he has the advantage... And he cheats,"

His red eyes filled with fire as the memory of Tybalt's cheap shot struck open the wound he was still nursing. His pride had been hurt that day, and he had yet to fully recover.

"But if it will make you happy... I'll try,"

And then, still feeling down in the dumps, he made his way over to Tybalt, Adonis and Vidya.

He stared at them in silence, locking his jaw as he gazed disdainfully at Tybalt.

"Mieke says I should come play with you," he said, crossing his arms and looking towards the ground, his tail swishing idly in the sand behind him.

Nio Love
Donny watched Tybalt fly, and squealed happily. Yay for flying! Donny could fly too, yes he could! He spread his unnaturally large wings out and prepared to jump off the monkey bars, only to almost bap his head against the one nearest to his head again. He ducked just in time, and made a sour face, before climbing up to the top of the monkey bars and take off from there. He jumped, only to lose his sense of balance and fly raggedy to one side. He caught himself, and swooped down toward Viddy and Tybalt, though his legs were too high for a normal touchdown, and it was clear he was going to land on his stomach.

That is, until Lance got in the way.

"Ohnoohno!" He cried out, just as he bucked upward and managed only to completely barrel into the boy, instead of slamming into him headfirst as he had almost done. It was a good thing they were on the sand, as the force of his sudden impact would likely send Lance down onto his tush.

"Donny not too good at flying yet.." He halfheartedly mumbled apologetically, muffled into Lance's shirt.

Inle-roo
Tybalt's feathers fluffed with indignance as he glanced down reproachfully at his first mate. "I don' need t'justify m'self t'you, girl. 'Tisn't somethin' you'd understand anyway. 'Sides, 'e 'ad it comin', thinkin' he could answer my challenge 'n walk away unharmed." Bah, silly girl. What did she know? She knew nothing about what it meant to be Captain, the lengths he had to go to in order to cow others. They'd walk all over him if they didn't have anything to fear, after all.

Case in point, Lance knew better than to approach him after the incident. It had obviously taken that other woman's encouragement for him to gather the guts to stand before him now. Tybalt seemed as unimpressed with the draconic Tale as ever, arms crossing over his chest. His wings were held up almost regally behind him, making him look larger than he would normally, and smugness smoldered in his eyes as he took in the much smaller form of Lance. "Did she now?" he drawled almost lazily. He might have said something more had his youngest crewmate not flying-tackled Lance. Tybalt couldn't help but laugh, impressed at Donny's move, not to mention his initiative.

Enoh Love
"Was'n askin you too..." Vidya murmured to herself, staring at the sand at her feet, falling silent after that. He might not have minded her pouncing on him, but there were still lines Vidya wouldn't dare cross.

A flash of stars caught her attention, and she jerked her head upwards to stare with wide-eyes at Lance and Adonis...or rather, the pile they had formed in the sand. Squeaking out her 'oh my!'s, she scrambled over (easier said then done, considering the sand) and attempted to sort the two out.

"Lance n' Donny okay?" She inquired almost worriedly as she worked to help both of them stand.

Mieke waved towards Lance, saying nothing in response this time. She tried her hardest to appear clear-headed and happy when in reality, she was feeling quite the opposite. Once Lance had approached the trio, Mieke looked away from them, one hand clasping over her mouth and the other hand moving to rest on the small bulge of her stomach.

God, the sickness accompanied with being pregnant wasn't fun.

Chibi_Dragonfly
Lance's eyes widened as Adonis shot towards him, and he had no time to dodge. He was bowled over, and sent back into the sand. He grunted as the other became tangled with him, and he struggled to pull himself away from the other. His sword was impaling his side, and it sure as hell wasn't feeling too nice. He growled his discomfort, still struggling to untangle himself from Adonis' massive wings, and small form.

Finally managing to, he pulled his sword out from under Adonis, and brushed himself off.

"I'm fine Vidya," he finally managed to grumble, glaring back towards Tybalt.

He may have been bigger, but the larger they were, the harder they fell.

Nio Love
Donny's head was stuck in the sand. He pulled it out and shook the sand out of it, looking absolutely aghast. "DONNY SORRY!!!!!!" He screamed, turning to check if Lance was all right, but catching his leg in front of the other and flopping back down in the sand on his rear. He sniffled and rubbed one eye with his fist, pouting deeply. "Donny didn't mean to fall on Lance, Donny just couldn't land.."

He felt absolutely awful for his little stunt, but what was he to do? All he could do was apologize. He let Vidya help him stand back up, and took a step back, so he had room to shake his wings out without spraying everyone.

"Sand feels icky in Donny's wings.. itchyitchy." He squirmed uncomfortably, before looking over at Mieke.

"Mieke! Donny's wings itchyitchy!!" This was obviously her problem, since she was looking after them, and he assumed this meant she should take care of this calamity. He gave her a pouty face, waving his wings toward her in a beckoning fashion.

Inle-roo
Tybalt's laughter died into chuckles as he watched the toddlers situate themselves. He leaned his side against a leg of the metal structure, arms still crossed, a leg bent at the knee and crossed over its twin. His talons were closed, and rested upon the sand rather than sank into it, and all in all he was the picture of nonchalance. He barely acknowledged Lance's glare, so far was he below his own station, and turned his attention instead to Donny. "Oi, good show there, Donny. Just ruffle yer feathers a bit, the grit'll come out eventually."

Enoh Love
"Good!" Vidya giggled out when Lance told her he was alright. Her sidewings drooped as Adonis sniffed his apologies, and he seemed so sad that Vidya couldn't help but throw her arms around him in a hug once she had him standing again. She let go when he stepped back, and then looked between her Captain and her Scaled friend.

Eee...what game would both of them play? This was gonna be hard...

Mieke's ears twitched upon hearing her name, the nausiated doe slowly looking over her shoulder at the golden boy. His wings were her problem now? She wouldn't have minded so much, if it weren't for this damned sick feeling. Mieke closed her eyes and slowly turned her torso to face them, reopening her eyes slowly once she had stopped moving.

"He's right Donny...Just shake your feathers, the sand'll come out." She somehow doubted that Adonis would leave it at that, so she staggered to her feet and slowly made her way over, battling her nausea the entire way. When she reached Adonis, she knelt down and brushed the visible sand from his wings.

Vidya cast a side glance towards her elder sister, her white eyes softening lightly. It was obvious to her that Mieke wasn't well, and Vidya doubted that the doe would want to be out when she was sick like this. She was torn now. Part of her wanted to stay and play with Tybalt and Lance and Adonis, and the other part of her wanted to make Mieke feel better by going home.

She whined a bit, the part worrying for her sister taking over the part of her that wanted to play. "Viddy wants ta go home." she declared in a rather uncharacteristic fashion...Vidya wanted to go home before playing? The world was ending! She'd never say why she wanted to go home though...mainly because Mieke hadn't told her to not keep it a secret anymore.

Chibi_Dragonfly
Lance was surprised, to say the least, at Vidya's sudden wish to go home. He wasn't about to voice his wish to go home, as he didn't want Tybalt to think he was a coward, but...

He looked over to Mieke, and then it became a little more clear to him. Mieke was not well...

"A good knight knows when to fight, and when to retreat..." he told himself, though he felt no better about it, and scowled inwardly.

"I'd like to go home too," he murmered, toeing his foot into the sand, "M'not feeling good..."

Nio Love
Donny however was missing the point entirely. He didn't quite realize that Mieke was looking ill, he was simply happy that she brushed his wings, and purred softly in responce. He looked from Vidya to Lance, then back again.

Well, if they wanted to leave, no one should stop them, but..

He trodded up to Tybalt and flopped at his feet. "Okay den. You guys go home, Donny stay with Tybalt. See you later!"

Ahaha Donny, you wish. Like Nio would ever go for that one..

Inle-roo
It was no surprise that Lance wanted to leave--probably to prevent getting his a** kicked further, however unintentional it might be--but Vidya? Tybalt eyed his first mate warily; why was she acting strange all of a sudden? The older girl's illness was lost on him, as he'd never had any experience with pregnant people, and he didn't realize the connection between Viddy and Mieke. "Are ye all right, Videe?" It was probably the closest thing to concern Tybalt had ever shown, and it was no small feat for him to do so. He was distracted momentarily by the shiny boy who had sat himself in front of him, and he grinned down at Donny briefly.

Enoh Love
Mieke paused in her wing-brushing, her glazed over orange eyes slowly turning towards Vidya and Lance. They...understood? A soft, thankful smile slowly graced her lips at the pair...they obviously understood more than adults gave them credit for...but at was also true for nearly every other child.

For that, she considered putting up with this nausea and letting them stay here...but at the same time, she wanted to take full advantage of this opportunity. She could, of course, repay them for giving her this option. "Alright then...lets go home...We'll come back later." She said softly, slowly getting to her feet and brushing herself off. "Sorry Donny...but its two against three...Majority rules, so we're gonna head home. Besides...I think your Dad might make you wear that harness next time you go outside if you don't come home with us."

Obviously, the doe knew this wouldn't phase the boy, and thus added after a short length of time: "We'll go get some ice cream on the way home, though."

She then dragged her glazed eyes to focus on Tybalt. "I'm sorry...but I have to escort your crew away now. I'm very sure you'll be able to see them again soon, though."

"No, M'not..." Vidya was being completely honest. She wasn't all right because Mieke wasn't all right. She didn't like seeing the doe so sick (mainly because she'd watched some TV shows by accident, and found out just how sickly people can get), and found she couldn't be herself with this huge worry on her. The quicker Mieke ate chickens the better!

Okay, so maybe she didn't catch the "soup" part afterwords.

She trudged over to Tybalt and gave his legs a hug, her sidewings lowered a bit. Vidya would have loved to stay...but she didn't want Mieke to die! "Play later, okay! Bye Bye, Cap'n!" She stated without meaning to, waving as she ran back to Mieke and took her hand, waiting for Adonis before they headed back to Nibelheim.

Chibi_Dragonfly
Lance wanted nothing better than to smack Tybalt, and start a brawl between the two, but he resisted. The sooner they were home, the better, in his mind at least. It meant that he could take some of his pent up anger out on the sparring dummy he had made for himself in the back yard.

Gloomier than ever he awaited Adonis, being the tail end charlie as par usual.

Nio Love
As per usual my shiny a**, Donny was never one to be left behind!

"Awww.." he pouted visibly at Mieke's response, though the mention of the harnass had his mind made up just a little faster. He looked at Tybalt, shrugging softly and giving him a helpless grin, before toddling off beside Mieke. "Ice cream!" He declared, clearly pleased with this bribe. He turned to wave at Tybalt as well, yelling out a sharp "BYE" before grabbing onto Mieke's hand and toddling away, likely just a little faster than the others due to his newfound expectancy for ice cream.

Donny and Armel! Part 1! The start of something.. wicked?

Pales
Pales sat on the picnic table, and Armel stood in front of him, his arms crossed over his chest and glaring up at the man. They seemed to be engaged in some talk, though the talk was kind of one-sided due to the fact the man talked and the boy just said one word a lot of the time.

"Come on go play or something." Pales pleaded softly.

"No." Armel said firmly. Glaring at the man rather heatedly. How dare he insinuate he'd humiliate himself by playing, and alone no less, that was even worse.

Pales' shoulders slumped a bit and his hands went to his face and his elbows rested upon his knees he let out a soft whine for a moment, "You are such a stubborn child."

Armel seemed to find a small bit of pleasure in driving his 'Da' crazy. He wandered over and put a small hand on his foot and twitched his lips a bit his version of a brief smile. Armel managed to look ... cutesy and stared up at Pales with large eyes, "Da.."

That seemed to make Pales' frustration melt away. "Fine...What do you want to do?"

At that Armel shrugged and he removed his hand and resumed his cross-armed stance. The cute moment was done. That's it for the day... Maybe.

Nio Love
Nio had promised Donny he'd take the boy out, because he'd been good lately, and the boy in turn promised to stay where Nio could see him at all times. That scare with running away had almost gotten Nio's blood pressure up, and he didn't want a repeat performance.

"Squishee does mah tux look just like yours? Viddy said I get a tux not a dress and you get one too."

"Well, it's similar.. you don't have to wear a hat. And yours is smaller, of course.. and it has room for your wings."

"I dun like black, it's not shiny."

"Well too bad, because that's the color!"

"Can I wear a gold one?"

"No, Donny. I won't have my son looking like a lounge singer at my we- .. oh, hello there."

Nio and Donny had just passed Pales and Armel, and the man stopped as he noticed the two sitting on a park bench. Though he'd never seen them before, it was.. pretty obvious the boy was a Tale. It was always surprising how different they all looked, yet somehow connected in their differences.

"Don't believe I've met you before, my name's Nio. Are you a new father?" He gestured in Armel's direction with a soft smile.

Pales
Pales was about to groan when he was suddenly addressed by Nio and he then held it in, "Err..Yeah, I guess you could say that." Putting on his best smile. "Recieved him a couple of days ago." He looked at the boy by Nio and blinked, "Stationary store?" He said softly. He was still getting used to all this. It still seemed a little odd.

Armel peered at the man and the boy that had interrupted them, well not really interrupted them. Though the boy seemed interesting and thus he stared at him for a long moment with a narrow-eyed studying gaze. My the boy was certainly ... loud and flashy. Armel decided to remain quiet for the moment. Stepping a bit closer to his Da.

Nio Love
Loud and flashy? That was Donny all right! Donny had hardly noticed the boy until his father had stopped to talk with them, but once he had, he let out a hoot. He hopped over to stand in front of Armel, inspecting him with a critical gaze.

..He didn't look too happy.

"Hoy." Donny murmured out quietly, his head cocked as he looked at the other boy. "My name is Donny. Wha's yours?"

"Hah, yeah." Nio laughed in reply, moving to sit down on the bench when Donny started up with Armel. He rested his arms back on the bench, and looked out at the park in front of him. "How'd it happen for you?" He wondered if everyone's story was as frightening or exciting as theirs had been.

Pales
Armel stared at the boy for a few moments not saying a word. He had almost made up his mind to not address the boy at all, though then Pales would make him. He sighed softly, fine, "Armel." He said lightly pointing at himself as if to signify it was his name. This not knowing how to communicate the whole way seemed to frustrate Armel. The look of aggrivation briefly passed his face, but he wouldn't let anyone teach him. It had to be his idea.

"It was...loud..and dizzying." Pales replied to Nio. "I recall being confused more than actually scared..I wasn't sure what to do with the boy at first. It took me a few minutes to figure out what his name was..It was all very odd..Kind of blurred in my head now. Y'know?" Pales explained, he looked at Adonis, "Adonis certainly is a friendly young one though. Very unlike Armel..Not that Armel is mean or anything." Pales amended the last part quickly.

Nio Love
"Armel, Adonis. Armel, Adonis!" Donny repeated, pointing at the boy when he said his name, and pointing at himself when he said his own. "My name's bigger. Dey both start with A's though!" While normally Donny would have pointed out the shininess of this particular person.. he found little to be impressed with. This left Donny at a loss as to what he could use to connect with the boy, and came to the conclusion that perhaps he wasn't worth connecting with at all.

"Yeah, it's a little bit of a trip, and I don't know if any of us understand it yet, but I'm not complaining." Nio loved his little gift, the son he'd always wanted in his life after years of accepting that he was never meant for a family. So much had changed in such a small amount of time. He gave Donny a fond look, watching him interact. "He and his sister are both social butterflies, despite being so different. We were blessed once with Viddy, my fiancee's daughter.. so I was really surprised that Donny was added into our life."

The man was clearly quite content with his life, and his family, and he comfortably leaned back against the benches, smiling. A thought struck him, and he sat up, pulling something out of his pocket.

"Oh! Since you're new, Huni may not have given one to you, so I will. Here." He held out the enveloped invitation to Pales, waiting for him to accept it. "All the Tale owners are invited to our wedding, of course. It's .. ah .. a little bit of a short notice, since it's Friday. But if you can make it, we'd be glad to have you and your family."

Pales
Armel stared at Adonis for a moment. What could he like about the boy. The wings. The markings. The boy was nice looking all together, perhaps he ought to play up to that? Maybe...Though that would be bowing down to someone, he pointed at his wings, "Pretty." He said first and then he thought a moment what is it people did with wings, ah yes, "Fly?" It was a good question indeed. Could the boy fly?

"Viddy..Viddy..Vidya? I met her the other day. Quite a wonderful little girl." Pales complimented with a small nod. Though Armel was the one that had most of the pleasure of dealing with the small blue girl.

Pales blinked as he accepted the envelope, "A..Are you sure about this? I am not sure..I could find something to wear to this." He thought for a moment. Perhaps it was time to go shopping he supposed. "My family. Hmm. I know one that would be delighted to go maybe two. We'll see. I think I'll definately go if I can find something appropriate." He nodded, and why not? I'd be a good way to get over his shy-ness if he ever could and maybe Armel could make some more ... Friends.

Nio Love
Did.. did he just call Adonis' wings pretty..?

In the span of four seconds, Donny's entire outlook on this boy went from bad to good. He broke out into a grin, and rose his wings up to spread them out fully, leaving them both in their shadow.

"Yes, Donny uses pretty wings to fly! Very heavy though, Donny must get bigger to carry them better." Once Donny had decided the boy was obviously brilliant and therefore deserved Donny's attention, he noticed things about him a bit more. "Ohh.. pretty shiny hair. Viddy has those two." He pointed at the braids, though of course not about to touch them unless the boy allowed him to. He'd learned that lesson long ago.

"Yep, That's our Vidya. Sometimes I wonder if the two of them are actually related by blood.. despite how different they look, they're both so energetic and sweet. Did you meet Enoh as well? All the more reason for you to come to our wedding."

Pales
Armel's lips twitched faintly in a brief smile, "Nice." He nodded approvingly, "Strong." He complimented again. Playing on the other boy's ego seemed to be a good way to get to know more about him. "Vidya..." He paused a moment, what was the word. He was struggling with this whole thing for a moment. What was that word? Ah yes, "Met. Vidya." He said each seperately it seemed he spoke brokenly for the moment but he learned a little more each day.

Pales smiled a bit as he heard Armel but his attention was brought back to Nio, "Yes, Adonis seems quite nice as well." He complimented, "Enoh? No I have not met her someone else was caring for Vidya at the time when I met her. I take it Enoh is busy with wedding things." He nodded, "I would love to meet her though. Any couple capable of .. Attracting such delightful children are bound to be wonderful." He wasn't sure what the word was for what happens at the Stationary shop. Attracting seemed good though.

Nio Love
Adonis was clearly smitten by the boy. The few words the boy said were all in praise, and those were always the best kind. The only thing as good as words of praise, was silence, and the boy wasn't chattery either. He only said what he had to say, no more and no less. Honestly, Adonis could ask for nothing better.

"Everyone's met Vidya," Donny murmured with a giggle, rolling his eyes. "She everywhere." He was unbelieveably attached to his sister, and was proud of just how many people knew her. After all, she was his sister. That was saying something in itself. "Viddy perfect." He concluded, and that statement summed up how he felt about the girl, or rather, what he considered fact about her.

He paused, and pointed up at the monkey bars, giving Armel a thoughtful look. "You play?"

Nio grinned widely, beaming with pride. "Oh, that's really very nice of you to say. You're a good guy, uh.. oh.. man now I feel like an idiot. I'm so rude, I didn't ask you your name." Of course, Nio had introduced himself, and to anyone else he might have considered Pales as the rude one for not doing the same.. but not Nio. No, if there was a lack of introductions, Nio had to blame himself.

Pales
Armel nodded to Adonis, "Everywhere." He said in return as if agreeing, which he was. Okay so the loud and flashy boy wasn't all too bad. Just so long as he didn't cling to him. He seemed like the huggy sort. "Play?" He looked to the monkey bars a curious look crossing over his face. Playing alone seemed embarrassing, but playing with another didn't seem so bad. At least then he wouldn't seem unpopular or alone or something. Though he wondered how that childish notion snuck into his mind ... Ah well. He finally nodded after what seemed a long time, "Play." As if he was consenting to the request of someone of a lower station of himself but he clearly didn't treat Adonis in such a manner.

Pales blinked a little and gave a short laugh, "Oh my, I just got into talking about everything that I completely forgot introducing myself and such. It almost seemed like nothing else mattered." He smiled lightly and shrugged, "Sorry about that. Lack of manners on my part. My name is Pales D'Arcy." He sat up a bit and offered Nio a hand, the hand of friendship. Pales seemed good natured enough, perhaps some of that would sink into Armel.

Nio Love
"No no, it's completely my fault, I should have asked earlier! It's nice to meet you Pales, always a pleasure to meet new parents, and good ones at that." He took the hand and shook it firmly, grinning. "I'm sure Armel is real lucky to have you."

Hurray, it was playtime! Donny squealed in laughter and reached out to take Armel's hand, dragging him off toward the monkey bars. It wasn't that much of a walk though, and as soon as they'd come near it, Donny would let go of Armel's hand if he still had it, and fly up haphazardly into the air to cling smack in the middle of the monkey bars. His legs slung over a bar and he flopped down, hanging from his knees. This time he looked down to make sure he wasn't about to slam into the monkey bar with his head.. a brief moment of caution before he grinned at the boy upside down.

"Be careful 'cause bars hurt the head if you hit them!"

He knew this all too well.

Nio could hear Donny's voice from here, though faint, and was mildly pleased to hear the boy talking in full sentences. It seemed he was finally starting to grasp the language a little better, mostly due to Vidya's influence, among others.

Pales
Pales smiled, "Sometimes I wonder if Armel even feels that way. He just seems so...I dunno. Grump?" Pales shrugged a bit, "At least he doesn't bite anyone or hit them..."

Armel made a squeak in protest as he is pretty much dragged along, but soon his feet made to run after the boy to keep up. He glared slightly at the boy's winged back for but a moment. Otherwise he didn't yank away, though he did manage to look somewhat awed by the flying. Impressed even. Thus Armel felt that was worth the indignity the practical dragging wrought, "Hurt.." He murmurs after Adonis' warning then nodded and studied the monkeybars for a moment. Strange contraption.

He put his hands upon the bars that seemed directly across from him and attempted to climb, first couple of times didn't take too well as he fell upon his rear, until finally he figured out how to distrubte his weight and balance.

Luckily Pales didn't see what Armel was doing from a distance otherwise the poor man would have had several heartattacks in a row.

Nio Love
"Well, from what I've seen Armel seems like a very good boy, and, well, a little grumpiness doesn't hurt anyone." He smiled gently, and looked over at the boys just as Armel had gotten the hang of the bars. Silently to himself he wondered if Donny would ever meet someone and not end up their friend..

..not likely.

Donny watched him upside down, while he tried and tried again. The boy was persistant, that was good! Once Armel started to climb effectively, Donny pulled himself up to sit on a bar and clapped happily. "Yah yah, you got it! See we're monkeys!"

Donny had no idea what a monkey was, but these were monkeybars, and so therefore they were monkeys. Right? Flying monkeys.. let's just hope there's no wicked witch around the corner.

Pales
Armel gradually climbed along getting used to it. He peered down at the ground and momentarily froze. Should he be scared? He was determined not to show his worry though. He looked up at the boy, "Monkey?" Armel blinked several times at this.

Pales smiles a bit and nods, "I hope he'll be a good boy through out his natural life, honestly." The man laughed a bit shaking his head. "Otherwise I might get some gray hairs." He let out a small sigh. He wasn't really worried about gray hair, he wasn't all that superficial. The comment did make for a good joke though, he thought.

Nio Love
"Yes monkey, monkey bars are for monkeys to climb." Donny announced, quite proud of this knowledge. He smirked and swung from bar to bar until he reached Armel, settling down on one and pondering things for a moment.

It was then that he had an epiphany.

"Ooh, Donny gots an idea!" He squealed, moving over to sit on the bar beside Armel. "Armel climb on Donny's back, okay?"

Tybalt had done it with Vidya, and Armel liked the idea of flying, so why not? He'd take Armel flying!

Despite how brilliant Donny felt this was, it is this author's duty to clarify that this was a bad, bad idea.

"Yah, come on Armel we go fly!"

"Donny, what are you doing over there?"

With a big grin he reassurred his father as he called out to him. "Nooothing squisshiiieeee!"

Nio looked back at Pales, taking a deep breath. "Gray hairs..I hear you. Enoh's lucky her hair is already silver. I'm sure I'll be matching her eventually."

Pales
Armel thought about this for a moment. Would it be safe? Would he get in trouble? Trouble...He feared no trouble! It'd be nice to get a start out of the adults sitting not too far a way, but at what cost? Armel didn't want to get Adonis hurt, "Hurt?" He asked with an unusual amount of concern reaching into his voice. He had no doubt that Adonis could support at least himself, but he was most sure that that story would change when his added weight was put into the whole equation. Though the idea of flying was awful interesting.

Pales glanced over and listened to Nio question Adonis. Then broke into a grin after hearing the response, "Squishie?" He chuckled softly, "Cute." He grinned at Nio playfully.

Nio Love
"Noo, no hurt! Donny will make sure you okay." He nodded fervently, though honestly he had no idea what he was doing. Of course, his wings could in theory hold the weight of two children.. he'd done it before when he carried Dice easily enough, though that wasn't on his back. It wasn't the weight that was the problem..

..It was the fact Donny wasn't the best flyer in the world. Certainly not as graceful as Tybalt.

"Come on, it'll be fun!"

Nio groaned when he heard Pales' response to Donny's nickname, and rubbed his face with his forehead. "Not that cute. I have yet to get him to actually call me his father. For some reason he prefers calling me squishee. Of course, he has no problem calling Enoh mommy, but has he ever once said daddy? Nooo."

This fact had always brought Nio just a touch of dissappointment, still waiting for the day he heard the boy call him his father. It meant a lot more to him than it should, just as much as it had meant to him to hear Vidya call him her father for the first time. He was still hoping it would happen.. eventually.

Pales
Well, he didn't need much more prodding after that. Not like Armel'd be angry at Adonis if he got hurt. He was ready to accept his own responsibility in this if they did manage to get hurt in some fashion, though Adonis promised. Armel took promises quite seriously. He then went about clampering onto Adonis' back with little problem.

Pales chuckled softly, "Children will be children. They go through phases like that...There will come a time he will call you daddy or what not. Armel seems to call me Da' which is close enough for me." He looked sad for a monent but seemed to brush it off and looked cheerful again, "Your little one is lucky to have someone to call mommy." Pales nodded, he then looked up just as Armel crawled onto Donny's back. It was hard to mistake that occurrance with as different as the two boys looked, "Uhh.."

Nio Love
Okay, so how did they do it.. Donny tried to remember what Tybalt did, holding onto Armel's legs the way Tybalt held onto Vidya's. "Okay yay! You gotta hold on tight though, 'cause no fallin' off! That would be bad, yah."

Nio put his hand on Pales' shoulder, giving him a comforting look. "Still looking?" He murmured, assuming that Pales was single and looking. Which, of course, could be entirely wrong of an assumption, but that was Nio for you. "Don't worry. You're a really great guy. I don't doubt that Armel'll be calling someone mommy one of these days." Again, innocent assumptions, but shh Nio's a dork like that. <3

He turned his eyes upward, following Pales' gaze toward the boys, and his hand fell. His brow furrowed and his lips pursed tightly for a moment.

"DONNY! What are you doing?!"

"Nothing squishee!"

"Then why is Armel on your back?"

"Uh.. um.." Donny giggled innocently, and tightened his hold on Armel. In a quieter voice meant only for the other boy to hear, he whispered. "Let's go show our squishees!" And with that, he vaulted up into the air, his large wings beating heavily. The takeoff was always the easy part..

Pales
"K..Kind of have someone in mind. We'll see." He went quiet as Nio addressed the boys again. Though as Adonis took off Pales suddenly stood up with a strangled gasp. All color draining out of his face for the moment.

Armel had accepted what Adonis said as a fact and it was very reasonable, at least that is how it seemed. Gotta hold on to something. He listened to what Adonis said. Squishees? He must mean Da' and that man. Must be his word for Da in general, or so Armel reasoned in his mind. He just gave Adonis a small grin and a nod just before they took off.

Nio Love
Donny thought he was absolutely brilliant for this idea. Look at their squishee's faces! They were in awe! Everyone should be in awe of him, after all.

His wings flapped one final time, before streamlining, sending them zooming off towards the two men. Donny made sure this time that his descent, as fast as it was, was not near enough to the two fathers to crash into him as he'd done to Lance. Instead, he zoomed right past the two, letting out a quick "HI SQUISHEE~" Before they were already gone. Nio reached out to try and grab the boy in mid-flight but he was far too quick, and the man grasped at air.

Donny rose up into the air in a lazy circle, flipping over to do another round.

"ADONIS LOVE, GET DOWN WITH THAT BOY THIS MINUTE!"

"Awww, squishee no fuuun.."

Pales
"Whee!" Armel said as they zipped past. It was exhilarating and great fun. Not to forget the look on his Da's face. It will be well worth any trouble they were about to get in, and they would he was sure judging by the tone of Nio's voice. "Fun!" Armel held on Adonis but not enough to constrict or hurt the other boy. Just enough to remain on the back and not fall. It helped that he was held onto as well.

"D..D...D..." Pales said softly, the poor man's heart was thumping in his throat he could swear it. He felt it.

...THUMP
...THUMP
...THUMP

Right there in the base of his throat at least. His mind played all sorts of bad scenarios that could end up with at least quite a few broken bones on both of the boy's bodies.

Nio Love
Thankfully, Nio had been through terrors like this already with his boy, and was just a -little- more capable than Pales. Not much.. but a little.

"Donny.." His voice warned, and the boy zoomed past, slow enough for Nio to catch them. Nio's arms wrapped around Armel, plucking him from Donny's body just as he passed, and Donny turned around to see his new friend taken from him..

..only to slam into Pales by mistake.

"OOF!" The boy's wings detracted, their softness softening the blow, but not by much. If Pales didn't react fast enough, Donny would end up flopping to the ground after his impact.

Pales
Armel let out a squeak and semi-glared up at Nio's face with a faint pout upon his lips. There went his dose of fun. Oh well, he might as well make use of this, "H'lo." He said dryly up at the man.

It was almost instant. Pales' arms wrapped around the boy just under his wings, the hold was gentle. It was almost as if Pales knew this would happen or he was ready for it, no matter how unaware he appeared. He stared down at the golden haired boy with a small blink of his jade green eyes, "Got ya." He managed a small boy in hopes the boy one scream, flail, or otherwise whack at him. He doubted that would happen, but one does just about anything when their fun is ruined.

Nio Love
Nio smirked faintly at Armel, amused at the little glare. He thought it was cute, it reminded him of Thoreau. They were probably a lot alike.

"Hello, Armel. I'm your airplane's father."

Donny was far from unhappy about the whole situation, despite being caught in Pales' arms. He did flail, but not as an escape. Instead he just lifted his arms up in the air and squealed happily. "Donny LANDED!" Yes, it was Donny's first successful landing, in his opinion. Does this mean Donny didn't expect he would land safely? Hardly. Was this REALLY a successful landing? ...Hardly.

"Dat was fun! Les do it again!"

"Oh, I don't think so Donny."

Donny flopped against Pales, perfectly happy to be in the arms of this stranger seeing as he was his father's friend. He gave his father a pouty face. "But whyyyyy? Donny took care of Armel!"

"It's dangerous, that's why."

"Why?"

Nio gave him a quirked smile. "Don't you start that."

Donny stuck his tongue out at Nio, and huffed.

Pales
Armel gave a short laugh, "Airplane?" He looked over at Adonis and grinned slightly pointing over at, "Airplane!" It seemed that it would be Adonis' offical nickname everytime the boys would meet in the near future. He was having so much fun it seemed he forgot about being grumpy. His inhibitions and 'better sense' gone for now.

Pales relaxed faintly and laughed a bit at the Donny's antics, "You are a good flyer, but I would suggest listening to your father young one." What would Pales know about flying? Truth was he knew a lot about flying. Pales' lips assumed a faint smile. "Glad you had fun. Flying is great fun." Pales paused faintly at his slip and just hoped Nio didn't catch it and that Adonis didn't understand.

Nio Love
Donny picked his head up slightly and giggled at Armel, amused at the little nickname. "Silly, me Donny, not airplane!" Of course, who was he to tell someone they couldn't call him a nickname? He called his father squishee. He looked up at Pales, sticking his tongue out playfully at him as well. "Flying is fun!"

"Just.. not when you fly away, right Donny?" Nio took a step forward, and gently began to perform the switch between boys, holding his arm out for Donny to crawl into while settling Armel back in his father's arms. Donny crawled up against his father and gave him a sad, puppydog look, instantly regretful. "Donny knows.." He murmured, still sorry for that whole incident.

"Good." He reached up and nuzzled Donny's head affectionately with one hand, while looking up at Pales with an innocent smile. "Do you fly, then?"

Pales
Armel clung to Pales after they had exchanged children. Mostly cause Pales was awful tall and Armel was awful little, he didn't wish to get dropped. Though, Pales had no intention on dropping the boy.

"Fun." Armel said to Pales, "Donny-plane. Fun." Armel grinned a bit at the last bit.

Pales gave a small chuckle, it seemed that Armel had lightened up somewhat. He supposed that it takes certain people to drag him out of his shell. However, his reverie seemed broken at one question. He looked at Nio with a faint bit of dread. "Uhh...Well..Sort of..I guess..." How much could he tell this man and his son. He didn't want to lie to his new found friend, especially after the kindness that he was shown.

Armel looked at his Da with interest tilting his head. This certainly was new to him.

Nio Love
Nio cocked his head, his innocent smile wavering somewhat. "Sort of, you guess?" Now where did that kind of a hesitant answer sound familiar? Oh, that's right. The hesitance sounded all too familiar indeed. A single long cabbit ear perked up slightly in curiosity, but flopped over a few second later, and Nio gave an understanding smile.

"Well, lucky you then. Like Armel says, it'd probably be a lot of fun."

"Daddy no fly?"

Nio looked down at his son, who showed signs of concern. He could fly, but why couldn't his squishee?

"No, silly, daddy can't fly because he doesn't have wings. Well, he can't fly like you fly. I guess... something like that." He let out a soft chuckle at his own hesitance, his voice an echo mirroring Pales' earlier one.

He looked up at the skies, farther than just the clouds above, and narrowed his eyes. Then, as if only noticing the waning sun, he pursed his lips.

"It's getting late. Aren't you hungry, Donny?"

"Donny want ice cream!"

".. That does not answer my question, Donny. You need real food. Then, maybe ice cream." Donny squealed in delight and Nio looked over at Pales and Armel. "Do you guys need to head home, or would you like to go pick up something to eat with us before we go?"

Pales
Armel uncharacteristically seemed sympathetic to his Da and nuzzled his face against his face against Pales' cheek. Pales blinked at this and smiled a little deciding not to question the act but rather treasure it. He'd be himself later on.

Armel realized that he was quite hungry after the excitement, "Hungry." He nodded in echo to Nio's question.

Pales glanced at Nio and smiled a little more. They could trade secrets a little later perhaps. When they know eachother better..Yes. Not that he'd use secrets against anyone. It just seemed safer that way. "Sure we'd love to." After all everyone in his house is somewhere else, or has someone watching over them. There was no reason to return home straight away.

Nio Love
"Good. Enoh knew I was taking him out today, so she won't be expecting us for dinner.. and I think we'd hate to eat alone."

Nio lifted his arms up, and let Donny go like a dove. The boy flapped his wings immediately once he felt the movement, and hovered over his father, moving behind him and clutching to his back, where he preferred to travel. His wings stilled once he was clutched behind his father's back securely, and Nio turned to give the area a good look. "We were going to go find somewhere to eat down that way, by the boardwalk. I hope that's all right with you."

"ICE. CREAM."

Nio winced at the cry behind him, and gave Donny a one-eyed look of warning. Donny giggled and slid back, hiding behind his father's shoulder.

"Donny sorry!" But he really wasn't. In fact he was quite amused by his father's reaction.

"Uh huh.." Nio murmured, trying to keep the quirked smile down until he turned away and led them in the direction of the boardwalk.

Donny and Armel Part Two! Milk is for LOSERS.

Pales
Armel was starting to wonder what this ice cream was and what was so great about it. Maybe he could get Da to get him some. His eyes squinted a bit as if plotting.

Pales held onto Armel with no complaint watching as the other father 'adjusted' their child for traveling. He supposed adjusting would be the right word. He nodded to Nio, "Sounds good." Thus Pales began to follow them carrying Armel all the while.

Armel was quite enjoying this being carted around thing. Why hadn't he allowed this earlier? He rested against his Da's body his head resting forehead down upon Pales' shoulder. Armel pretty much decided that since Donny was so brilliant that the boy must be his advisor. He blinked lightly at the thought of an advisor but shrugged it off. What was one anyways? The word seemed familiar, but nothing was connected to it in his most recent memory. He didn't voice this concern though, and for now he just rested.

Nio Love
It wasn't long before they reached the main street boardwalk, where a variety of stores could be found. Nio hadn't planned on anything fancy, so he looked around for a small place, and caught sight of a little diner that looked casual enough.

"Here we go," Nio murmured as he held the door open, to allow Pales and Armel inside. Always one to put manners before anything, Nio would wait until they entered before entering himself and closing the door behind him. It made a little jingly sound as it closed, signalling the seater to set them up at a table.

It was a quiet little place, nothing fancy at all, just a little diner out of the way. It seemed just right for what he was looking for. After all, Donny often called more attention to himself than he might have liked.

They were given a booth and Donny flopped off his father to scramble into their side, while Nio slid in after him.

Pales
Pales nodded a thank you to Nio, taking a small glance around as he set Armel down. He was careful not to set the boy down right on top of Adonis, goodness knows what chaos would have ensued then. Once on the ground Armel made a small grunt of protest until he saw Adonis near by. He sniffed a bit and turned his head upward. Maybe he can get a free ride when they left. "Sit?" It was more of a question where to sit rather than a command to sit.

Pales chuckled a bit at Armel and waited for Nio to join them. After being seated he slid in across from them after Armel got to sit in first, demanding to sit across from Adonis with but a firm tug on the man's jacket and a glare.

Nio Love
Donny picked up the fork and immediately began stabbing at the menu with a squeal, and Nio plucked the fork out of his hand while nonchalantly conversing with Pales, as if he wasn't de-clawing his son.

"I've never been here before, but it looks all right. I'm not starving, either.. but it'll be nice to try something different."

He opened the menu, looking down it's list to the kiddie section.

"What do you want Donny, mac and cheese or a cheeseburger?"

"CHEESE!"

"..They both come with cheese, Donny."

"CHEESE!"

"Mac and cheese it is.."

"Nooo.. cheeseburger."

Nio looked at his son warily, fwapped him lightly over the head, and chuckled. "Fine."

Pales
Pales nodded to Nio, "It's fine. Looks fantastic here." He smiled lightly as he looked over the menu a bit while Nio talked to Adonis about food options. He peered at Armel who seemed to just take time taking out napkins one by one as if trying to see if that supply was endless in the strange metal box. He gently took it away and chuckled at the glower, "What would you like Armel?"

Armel looked baffled for a moment, he didn't know what this mac and cheese stuff was nor the cheeseburger. Though Adonis was going to eat a cheeseburger ... He didn't want to copy the boy so he just said, "Burger." If it came with cheese then logically it came without it too.

Nio Love
"Yes! It's good." Adonis commended Armel on his choice, trying his hardest to reach over the table for the fork. He wanted to summon the ice cream already! Nio tugged on the back of his toga while looking through the menu, settling him back down in his seat before he could reach it.

"Hm.. I'm tempted to get the burger too.. but I did say I want to try something different."

A waitress hopped over to take their order, and he told her what Adonis wanted before going through the more adult choices with her.

"So.. if I got the chicken marsala, it comes with a vegetable, right? You've got carrots don't you? Good, I'll take that."

Pales
Pales pulled away the pulled out napkins as Armel began to tear those to shreds. He was rather calm about it for the most part. Armel again glared at his Da'. He was no fun.

Pales chuckled a bit and looked for something for himself, "Hmm. I will take the steak 'n eggs." There was no protest, people ordered from everything on the menu it seemed. He also made clear what Armel wanted.

"Oh and get him some milk while you're at it."

Milk? Armel scrunched his nose a bit. He didn't mind milk but still, it seemed boring.

Nio Love
Adonis almost laughed at Armel for having to drink milk, but he never got a single chuckle out.

"Oh! Good idea, can I get a glass for him too?" He handed the waitress his menu with a charming smile, oblivious to the glare that was boring into the back of his head.

"So Pales, do you guys live around here? We're over in Gambino, though we're not living there right now due to some reconstruction so we're staying at a friends place."

Pales
Pales smiled a bit and shrugged, "We pretty much live out of the way of everything, yet near it at the same time. Hard to explain, all that matters is that it is in walking distance. I don't like to drive much unless I have to."

Armel seemed to nod at that, as if to confirm the truth. "Walk." He said with a slight huff almost as if insulted. He was the type that prefered to be driven everywhere instead or at least carried about.

"I hope it goes well for you when your home is finished." Pales smiled a bit wider now. "Do you have a job?" The small talk certainly was ... Small, but it was also useful for information gathering.

Nio Love
The idea of living far but near was curious, and Nio rose a brow for a moment, but let it slide quickly enough. He'd heard stranger.. much stranger.

"Well yeah, I'm working on the house mostly, with the contractor. It's almost finished, too. But it's virtually stopped me from any fishing.." He stopped here, realizing he'd gotten ahead of himself. He made a passing gesture as he explained, "I'm a fisherman." And continued. "But the house needs constant supervision, and besides I'd rather be involved in it's reconstruction. It's rewarding I suppose. We're setting up some new rooms, because we're quickly running out of them.. it seems like every day we end up coming home with a new child."

He laughed softly, brushing his hand against Donny's hair. "Not that we're complaining, of course. Each of them are a blessing."

The waitress set down the two glasses of milk, and a glass of carrot juice that Nio had ordered, as well as anything Pales might have, if he ordered drinks. Nio murmured a soft thank you with a smile, and stuck a straw in his juice. "But yeah, I've never lived in a house before, let alone helped rebuild one .. it's a lot of work, but I've been enjoying it."

Donny stared at his milk in disgust, before glaring at his father. Not only did he put the nasty white stuff in front of him, he knew he was assumed to have to drink it. While Donny was normally compliant to Nio's demands, this time he had a friend with him.. and perhaps it was the presence of that friend that spurned on Donny's additional stubbornness.

"Hoy."

"What is it, Donny? Drink your milk."

"No."

Nio pulled away from his drink, and looked at Donny sternly. "Now that's not.." But before he got anything else out, Donny had reached his hand up toward the glass, and Nio assumed the boy had changed his mind.

He hadn't.

Milk spilled everywhere.

"Donny! What are you thinking?!" He cried out, grabbing all of the napkins Armel had pulled out of the dispenser to try and soak up the milk before it ran over the sides of the table. Donny looked a little guilty, and a little triumphant. Take that, milk.

Pales
Pales nodded as he listened. He took the complimentary glass of water since he didn't order anything he then gave Armel his milk. Who glowered at it. He watched the interaction with Donny and his parent with a faint furrow of his brow. Armel seemed rather interested just to see who would win.

Pales gave a small squeak as the milk spilt everywhere. Reaching forth to help Nio with his cleaning efforts. Armel however gave a small cheer in congratulations to Adonis, which earned him a small glare. Armel quieted but he still grinned a little at his new found friend across from him. He was begining to quite enjoy the boy's company.

Nio Love
"Donny, I am very dissappointed in you."

"Diss..?" Donny looked up at his father with a wide eyed, innocent gaze, though he truly had no idea what the word meant.

"Yes. It means I'm not happy with what you just did. Now apologize to Pales and Armel for your behavior."

Donny looked over at Pales and Armel, pouting faintly. The triumph was starting to ebb away, and the guilt was starting to override him. "Donny sorry.."

And yet, Nio pulled another set of napkins out to finish cleaning the table, Donny's eyes settled on Armel and he smirked, if only for a second.

"Well, good. I'm sorry, but I've got to punish you for your behavior, or else you'll never learn.. so no ice cream tonight."

Nio had all of Donny's attention now. He looked up at the man, aghast. "But..! Donny sorry! Donny SORRY."

"Yes, Donny should be sorry. And the next time Donny feels like knocking over glasses of milk, he'll know better."

Oh, this was unacceptable. This was UNHEARD OF. Donny wouldn't stand for this. Well, he couldn't stand for this. He couldn't stand at all - he was stuck in his seat.

His time would come..

Pales
He peered at Adonis and winked at him he suddenly stood in his seat and picked up his milk moving over to Pales and he dumped it over his Da's head. That would teach him a lesson.

Pales flinched at the initial ice cold feeling, "Gah! What has gotten into you?"

Armel ignored the comment and tossed the glass behind himself where it landed with a clunk sound, harmlessly bouncing off and onto the seat. What was that word he learned off of the television the other day, ah yes, "REBELLION!" He waved his hands over his head causing others to look at their particular booth.

"..."

Nio Love
Both Donny and Nio went wide eyed as they watched Armel pour milk over his father. Nio clapped one hand over his mouth, while Donny keeled over and flopped onto the seat in ripples of laughter.

"Donny stop laughing, that's not funny! Oh Pales I'm so sorry, I swear, he's not normally like this.." He started pulling out napkins and handing them to the man while using a few to wipe the milk off of his shoulder.

And then of course the food came.

Nio took one look at the food, then at the boy rolling in laughter at his side, then at Pales, and sighed.

"You know what? If you don't mind, I think we're going to take ours to go. Donny's caused enough trouble today, I'm going to have to take him home and have a long talk with him. I hate to cut out on you like this, but I'm pretty sure you'd rather go home and get changed than sit here any longer than you have to."

Nio quirked a smile, one corner of his lips turning upward. No, NO he wasn't going to laugh. But it was tempting.

"Can you wrap that up for us?"

Donny fell off the seat and onto the floor with a solid *thunk*, still reeling with laughter.

Pales
Pales sat there for a moment, and it was like he couldn't hear Nio before he gave out a light laugh, "So this is what it is like to have children younger than nine or ten." He said ruefully.

Armel just looked quite proud of himself for what he had done.

Pales looked at Nio and smirked, "I think I shall teach my son a lesson right now."

Armel suddenly looked worried at this, his superior expression slipping away as if it had never existed.

"You see, Armel has a secret." He said as his tone raised a little louder for all to hear.

"No!" He moved over to clap his hand over his father's mouth.

Pales gently removed it, "He likes to snuggle up to a teddy bear when he sleeps."

"..." Oh that was cruel. Armel flopped there looking quite upset about this.

Pales stared at Armel with a small smirk, "It doesn't feel good to be embarrassed does it?"

Armel shook his head a bit his bottom lip quivering. The waitress blinked at him having not yet left, "Yah, pack ours to go too."

Pales gently pulled the by to his lap sitting side ways in the booth so he could do so, "Now now. Don't cry.." He soothed.

Armel sniffed and then looked at Adonis as if checking if the boy was okay after his fall, as well as trying to distract himself from the disgrace of crying in front of everyone.

Nio Love
Donny climbed back up into his seat after his laughter had stopped, and flopped down just in time to hear that Pales had to say about Armel, and both the fact he'd used it as revenge, as well as Armel's reaction, made Donny go through a small range of emotions. They went from confusion, to uncomfortableness, to sadness. He looked up at Nio, his gaze serious.

".. Is it bad to sleep with a bear, squishee?" He asked quietly, almost in a whisper. Nio put his hand on his son's face, which elicited a squirm from the boy to be able to see again. "No, Donny, it's not."

Nio looked at Pales with a knowing smirk, nudging his head towards Donny to indicate that the boy did the same thing.

Adonis looked at Armel once more, and his gaze turned to worry. He slid off his chair and back under the table before Nio could reach out and stop him, and a moment later his head popped up on the other side. He scrambled up beside Armel and Pales, reaching out to flop one arm around the boy who was still in Pales' lap.

"Donny has a bear too, 'Mel! It's shiny and yellow and squishee and has wings just like Donny!" He wiggled his wings for emphasis, and Nio idly wondered how he had managed to squirm down under the table with them.

Pales
Pales nodded lightly to Nio to show he understood. Though the next part that happened seemed to make him worry if the lesson would sink in as Adonis pretty much showed sympathy and admitted to his own teddy bear cuddling addiction.

Armel seemed to feel a bit better, and if it had been anyone but Adonis or Pales touching him, Armel would have likely thrown a fit just then. Instead he sniffed, "Mel?" It seemed to amuse him that the bear's name rhymed with his, at least the last part.

Pales just sighed and shook his head, maybe it was the wrong way to teach a lesson, but it was the only way he could think of considering the on the spot attention this sort of behavior seemed to need. Of course there could be spankings but he never quite felt comfortable with hitting any of his children no matter what the cause was.

Nio Love
Donny hadn't named his bear, actually. He'd just shortened Armel's name when he hugged him. Though, the way Armel said the name made it sound like he thought otherwise, and after a moment's thought, Donny decided naming his bear after Armel wasn't such a bad idea after all.

"Yah! Mel." He chirped out happily, grinning up at him. "Come and see him one day, okay?"

The food containers were placed on the table, and atop it was the bill, which Nio snatched up quickly. He pulled out his wallet and put enough in it to cover the entire meal plus tip, and handed it back to the waitress. After all, he felt completely responsible for the milk issue, since Donny had started it.

"Dinner's on me to make up for all this. Come on back over here Donny, we're going home."

Donny made a whine of a sound, before sliding back under the table to crawl over to his father's side.

Pales
Armel nodded in agreement, he would come see him one day. Even if he had to sneak out to do so. Forget that he didn't know how to get to Adonis' house. He'd figure it out.

Pales blinked as the bill was snatched up before he could offer his money into the pile, instead he also left a bit of a tip, mostly cause it was polite, "C'mon Armel. We go outside, you two can say your goodbyes and we go home. I need a bath and so do you."

Armel cringed a bit at the word bath, "No." He pointed at Adonis signaling that he wanted to go with them.

Pales shook his head, "We will visit them sometime soon, maybe after their wedding." He thought on it some more, "Maybe even after the wedding itself because we are going."

Armel looked confused, "Wedding?"

The man gave a nod, "Yes. I'll explain it while we go home."

The boy sighed at having to wait. Pales got up and Armel slid out after firmly clasping a hand unto the man's jacket as if refusing to be left behind.

"Ready?" Pales asked after making sure all the food was put in appropriate containers.

Nio Love
Nio picked up the two containers and shuffled out of the booth, gesturing for Donny to follow.

"So you're coming? That's great! I'm sure Enoh and I will be so glad to see you there." He shuffled Donny outside after waiting for Pales and Armel to exit, and the boy hopped up and fluttered to grab his father's back.

"Well Pales, it was really nice to meet you and Armel, and I'm glad you're coming to the wedding! Sorry again about the mess.."

Donny gave Armel a wide grin as he rested his chin on his father's shoulder. His grin said it all.

Pales
Pales collected his food containers as they began to exit. Then Pales and Armel soon joined the other two outside.

Pales gave a nod to Nio, "I hope I can meet Enoh there. She must be a wonderful girl for you to wish to marry her." He said happily. Armel scrunched his nose at all the weird words flying out of the adult's mouths.

"Oh no, it's all fine. It's ... A stage I think." He blinked down at Armel. A long continuous stage.

Armel grinned a bit back at Adonis, having caught the other boy's expression upon seeing him peek over Nio's shoulder.

"I'll see you then." Pales smiled and gave a small wave.

Armel sniffed as he was starting to be pulled away.

Nio Love
]Nio grinned proudly at the mention of Enoh. "She's.. well there's no word. Wonderful just isn't enough to describe her in my opinion." A faint blush crossed his cheeks for a moment, but it was gone as quickly as it came.

He waved back, nodding politely. "Take care!" He called out, and Donny crawled up to hover over her father, covering his ear this time before yelling out quite the loud, "BYYYYYYYYEEEE MEEEEEEELLLLLLL~!~!~!~!"

".. Even when you cover my ear, that's too loud."

Donny just giggled as they turned to walk away.

Enoh Love

PostPosted: Mon Jul 11, 2005 7:22 pm

Vidya, who was carrying a large, light pink box balanced on both her arms infront of her, wandered through the door that her mother held open for her. Enoh was carrying a similar box, only the one the shapeshifter held was a dull yellow in colour...and of course she was the one carrying various other shopping bags as well. Originally, Enoh had gone out to buy outfits and toys for Mieke's fawns, since the doe's due date was fast approaching...but since Vidya insisted on going, they ended up coming back with a present for the Tale siblings.

"We're home!" Enoh called out, setting down the shopping bags and putting the box down near Vidya's feet before leaning against the wall herself, taking off her strangely laced boots...and waiting for anyone to answer her.

"Home, Home~! Donny~! Ar'you here? Heyloooo...?" Vidya called out, setting her box carefully beside the blue one, sliding out of her sandals.

Donny was currently home, but at the moment he was far from available. He was standing on the ledge of their bedroom window; or just outside of it, rather. His body was rigid as a board, staring frantically down at the pavement below and wondering just what he was thinking. He had been determined to practice his flying (and landing) today, but his determination was down near his feet right now, as was his heart. He was scared. Sure, he'd flown before, and he knew he could do it.. but this was high. Really high.

As he heard his name called, he flailed wildly and almost lost his balance. He would have managed somehow, had he fallen, but he wasn't ready yet, darnit!

"Coming!" The boy called out as he grabbed the edge of the window and tried to shove himself back in. His wings flapped against the edge of the windowsill, refusing to pull back simply because he couldn't calm down enough to think clearly. Finally he tried to shove his way in so much, that the rigid wings pulled him back and he toppled out the window.

He swiveled in mid-air, but that was about all he managed to do, and with a thump that was only softened by the single flap he snuck in, he dropped like a stone into a bush and dissappeared.

A pathetic little groan was heard coming from the bushes a minute later. It sounded a lot like a smothered little boy calling for his momma.

Enoh Love

Vidya waited. And waited. And Waited. And still...no Donny. She wanted to show him his present now, dangit! She looked down at the pink and yellow boxes on the ground...maybe Donny didn't want it? Vidya shook her head...that was NONSENSE. Of course Donny wanted one of these! They were pretty! And apparently useful...but they were pretty, and thats all that mattered. But then...where was he?!

"Donny~" Vidya whined a bit, looking up the stairs as she waited for him.

She didn't hear his fall, though...it was Enoh who caught that one. Her ears perked, rotating as far as they could, trying to figure out what the sound from outside was. Leaning her head to the side, the shapeshifter re-opened the front door...

...and saw the tip of one of Adonis' starred wings poking out from the bushes. Gasping, Enoh ran outside and reached into the bush, untangling Adonis every time one of the branches decided they wanted to keep the golden boy.

"Donny!" She breathed out in relief, holding him in a hug against her. "What happened?! Are you alright?" Enoh Questioned, checking him over for anything serious. Vidya of course had ran out along with her mother, and was trying to help by standing back and looking at Adonis as a whole...after all, it was easy to see cuts if you weren't so close!

"Donny okay?"

Donny had fallen on his rear and back, which made for a lucky fall seeing as he managed not to break anything. Or so it seemed.

"Ow-ow-ow-ow MOMMA!" He wailed as she hugged him tight, his little arms flailing as the extensively heavy wings behind him weighed heavily, despite the fact that one of them was crooked and bent. His wingbones were too hollow not to break in a fall like that, but the heaviness of all those feathers made the pain that much more annoying.

"Donny hurt wing, momma.." He whined pitifully, trying to wiggle out of her embrace if only to be able to reach behind him and support the wing with his hand, to keep it from hurting. It was so embarrassing, not only had he failed in his flight, but now he probably wouldn't be able to fly for who knows how long!

He should have counted his blessings that he didn't break an arm or leg bone, but he wasn't. He would have rather broken his arm if it meant he could continue to fly.

"Make it all better momma.." He whimpered, hopping from one foot to another before realizing that, hey, that made things worse, and forcing himself still.
